When I was young, we used to take the Super Ferry from Cebu to Manila and it was like a cruise ship. Some ships even have a pool at the very top deck (or maybe that's just my brain creating a false memory haha) but I do know the restaurant was like a hotel restaurant with nice cushioned seats and all. Maybe it was just because I was so young but the ships seemed way grander before.
They were made that way. you're memory is point on! Those were the days where air travel is still very expensive and only few can afford. Shipping companies are at each other's throat offering the best services, accommodation and dining. Truly its a memorable experience when you're in one of those ships back then. They are just taking in some passengers so the crew wont be too lonely on those slow, long and arduous journeys.

When on a ship I spend most of my waking hours viewing the sea. I counted 50 coconuts on each side of the ship floating on the sea. I guess sea travel in ancient times is not so difficult in terms of sustenance because of the numerous coconuts growing on so many islands.
Our ancestors (of Filipinos) are Austronesians. And yes, coconuts were used for supplies ("canoe plants") on long sea voyages for water and food. We basically took coconuts everywhere with us. Introducing it to all islands our cousins colonized. All over Southeast Asia, Micronesia, Polynesia, and Madagascar. All of which are Austronesian regions. The latter 3 regions didn't have native coconuts until Austronesians brought it with them. Aside from that, Austronesians also originated the extraction of coconut milk, coconut oil, and palm wine. As well as using coconut fiber for ropes for ships. And aside from coconut, Austronesians also carried various types of taro, banana, sugarcane, yam (ube), barkcloth tree (paper mulberry), candlenut, pandan, etc. Rice and millet were carried as well, but they didn't survive in the smaller islands of Micronesia and Polynesia.
The meals in the Horizon Café are always cold. Ask the server to micro wave your meal and give them a little tip. Tourist class eats in the cafeteria and the meals there are hot. They make great coffee but never have any sugar. We never eat our meals in the room, always in the café and we spend a lot of off time in the cafeteria. Bring your own instant coffee and a cup as the really hot water is free. There is no wifi on the boat but there is 4G cell service some of the time. For good cell coverage you need to go to the top deck. There are two boats running between Manila and Cebu this summer, one is direct and one has one stop. The direct trip is about 22 hours the trip with a stop 36 to 44 hours. I really enjoyed this boat but it is showing signs of age. The staff is great.
There is another ship of 2Go, the MV 2Go Maligaya, a bigger, newer, prettier and faster ship that it took only 20 hrs from Manila direct to Cebu and vice versa.

This ship is not a cruise ship but a regular vessel which accepts both people and cargoes (except rolling cargoes). The Philippines have no cruise ships for leisure purposes which make stops in touristy places or ports.
@@lionhearted1969 They do accept rolling cargoes (such as brand new vehicles being transported to somewhere else) or just your own car. There are special fees for it but I don’t know how much.
@@azuma4497 I see. But the vessel doesn't seem to accept rolling cargoes because of how it docks at the wharf, sideways. So how do the rolling cargoes exit the vessel? Do they have opening on the side? Because I'm used to seeing ro/ro vessels with their passageway or ramp at the bow for both passengers and rolling cargoes. So that when they dock, they do so bow first to allow the ramp to be lowered onto the dock.

Thank you for taking us with you on this trip. I’ve done this trip once with Mv Cebu City very long time ago to Cebu. It was a great experience for me. Hope you’ll enjoy your trip in Cebu and keep safe Sir.
Always making me laugh with your sense of humor. Great shots of the ferry going under the bridge. Have fun in Cebu Tater.
You're a good vlogger!, no boring moments and I laughed from beginning to end! Enjoyed it immensely! LOL!
I love your haircut it's so clean
You guys are way too nice 😂
Yup I love the haircut too.
The MV DT JOHN PAUL II retired in August 14 or 16 in Bangladesh scrapyard 😢
I know of the 2go ship for a long time now but didn't tried it out yet because I think there's nothing more to see of it compared to the ships and boats we've rode before...but seeing this vlog made me think of trying it out one of these days. Enjoy Cebu Sir!
Pls send can will be friends add me with my Gmail
It's the same ships owned before by Negros Navigation... some smaller ones (RoRo) are mostly new..
that is a SlowGO ship. famous in Ph during the 80s. but now majority of people are traveling airplane which has luxury and quick travel.
Trivia Filipinos have a reputation to be great sea farers Almost every cruise around the world is staffed by a sizable Filipino sea farers. If you should find yourself in an international cruise check with them about the Filipino staff.
Correct one of the best.
Cruise Rotterdam almost Pilipino crew.
I worked for Norwegian Cruise Lines for 7 years now. Yeah you're right, 70% of the crew are Filipinos.
Business practice ..cheaper to employ foreigners ...
When I was there earlier last month we went in a tiny boat with in siargao and the waves tossed us around lol
wow 300k views in 2weeks!

I dunno if Tater's gonna hate me telling this, buy he really looks like the Unbox Therapy guy, the resemblance is uncanny. And the similarity of their voices is a bonus, btw. 😜
I've heard that a few times, but I don't see it haha. Maybe I need a side by side comparison
Omg tatters channel just took off into the next level this is crazy blessings to tater
We’re happy that your channel is starting to get a lot of attention 🥰🇵🇭☺️
I miss travel by ship..... It's like 20 yrs ago. lol. good thing the water was calm on your trip.
Hey Man if you still have time do visit Iloilo city and the Island province of Guimaras where you can get top tier mangoes. Explore the beach and check out the local delicacies. Enjoy your travels!
There just very friendly people who speak from the heart....
One day in the Philippines is a long day on a ship since your travelling by yourself. If your girlfriend is travelling with you then its just perfectly fine. 😁😁Just subscribed.
May ma comment lang nuh
Enjoy your day! Thanks for sharing
Thank you! You as well
Love your sense of humor and finding positive vibes. I missed taking the big boat. My last ride was pre pandemic and I would really wanted to try it again going to Palawan. Have a nice trip. Thank you for your patience and endurance.
When I was younger I used to travel by boat, it's fun when your not in a hurry and just chill
Same here😁😍
Ha Ha Ha...I am enjoying your story style type of a vlog. You you're funny you lol.. Anyways enjoy your travels in the Philippines and stay safe....😀👍
Appreciate that ty 🙂
this is a very honest review. good job !
Come on Tater! The girl was letting you know she’s available…some girls would love to “move” to California.
Tater, did you see her again. You should have.
Glad that you took my recommendation to ride the ferry. Its not the usual transportation of vloggers. The ship's food variety really needs improvement if it is to attract travellers. Im wondering why you didnt attend the band show if ever there was one in that trip. Even cruise ships dont have wifi for free.
Please do something unusual to make it more interesting
I really like your dry sense of humour us Aussies can relate haha.... Thanks for reminding me why I normally take the plane but will do a ferry sometime from Cebu to Manila. I just subscribed to your channel !
WOOOW..!!! 🥳FIRST TIME I HEARD ABOUT THIS FERRY BOAT FROM MANILA TO CEBU. I WONDER IF THEIR FOOD IS GOOD. THIS IS AWESOME TO KNOW. 😍
..have a look into the video from start to end...its a new adventure for first time travellers like us via this ferry hahah!
kinda hated how you were so snarky during the trip and arrival. im out.
Love this video 👍 … caught my attention, watched till the end. no dull moment ! 😊. Subscribed!
Haha. So funny that the crew opemed up something personal to you. Hahaha. But its better to talk to a stranger rather than to o friend. Haha
Very true 😂 I got a kick out of it for sure
That lady locked herself in the room with you and started pouring out her life story. Next thing you know, the girl is crying. That's what I saw on Pornhub at least. Lol!
It’s very good service to the tourists thanks for this wonderful video and very wonderful of our country men Pilipino proud of God bless us all!!!
Welcome to Cebu!
I don't think I have the patience to take a ferry 😁
Yeah I got a little cabin fever there haha
that is one trait of Filipinos to engage in a random conversation with a stranger just like what the lady crew did...
🤣 🤣 🤣 you need a Filipina in your life! Your cruise adventure is quite funny!
Keep safe and enjoy your life my dear❤️😊
Maaan your commentary (sarcasm) is SOOO GOOD!! 😆 Also you're polite and good the vlog is just wholesome, hope you enjoy your travel here in the Philippines
Not so good! Im annoyed! Hahaha. If he takes the regular ship with economy accommodation then He knows what luxury really means!
You’re quite entertaining and have a funny sense of humour. Subscribed!
You're too kind, ty!
Hi Tater I’m sorry to say that is not luxury 😂 I have taken a couple of cruises and it’s not for me. Lots of people love it! I guess because of the unlimited food you can eat and it’s like a big hotel with everything in it. Then you stop at different islands with activities and tours. Glad you made it to Cebu and safe travels on your adventures.
Yeah it was an interesting suite to say the least haha
The hotdog really got me though 😂
@@tatertravels they could’ve given you the longanisa more like breakfast or the tapsilog. Btw hopia comes in many varieties like ube, langka, matcha, pork etc.
She was/is available dummy. It's a fabulous trip that I have taken. The aircon comes out of the light fixtures & you probably have to flip a switch to adjust. I don't know how I got to your post, I was in the process of shopping for a Tuk Tuk to drive when I retire in the very new future in Iloilo. Have fun on your adventures.
Wow! That boat is huge. Was in Cebu a few years ago. I took a smaller ferry to Bohol. Your video is entertaining. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful ship nice sharing 🥰
This is very nostalgic for me. My family used to ride ferries when we visit my dad's hometown in Aklan. :)
Superferry 19 or 21 ata to before. I worked on this company for 1yr (2009-2010). Happy to see it again, thanks brother. 😁
Wow they upgraded the ship! I used to travel by boat from manila to cebu. No nice cafeteria like that.

The church is called Iglesia Ni Cristo/Church of Christ...which I belong to and thank you for showing a glimpse of it in your vlog...have a safe travels always Filipinos support foreign vloggers who visit our humble country and welcome you with wide open arms and hearts...hope you enjoy your travels in our country and kindly be patient enough for the shortcomings and some limited infras and ammenities that we have...but the hearts of the Filipinos are big enough to fill these shortcomings...God bless
💚💟❤🙏🙏🙏😊😀👌👍MABUHAY
🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
He had tried to enter one of our Locales in Baguio City when he went for a walk; but of course, he wasn’t allowed as it wasn’t a worship day. I suggested that he try attending if he could check the days and times of worship services.
Thanks for sharing your ferry video. I've always flown and have not experienced the ferry ride, so now I know. Enjoy your Cebu trip.
Thank you! Much appreciated
Congratulations, brother, on 10k views!
I appreciate that brother. Ty! It's been a journey to get the new channel back to where the other one was haha. All in due time ☺️
