My wife was born and raised in Roxas. We have a niece there who’s known for her Hello Kitty House. Love visiting there. Celebrated my wife’s 60th BD in Roxas. Thx for sharing this video. Go back and visit Pres Roxas house and view the church. Beautiful places.
If you are living in the northern part of Iloilo, Roxas city is actually closer than Iloilo City itself. So most of the time people of northern iloilo buy goods, study and can even find a BPO work in Roxas city.
My mom is from Roxas capiz. There is a place there called araguel. I been a decade now. Since I visited capiz. I miss the Huge crabs there. Big shrimp and its really affordable.
Thank you guys for showing my place i always looking for some vloger to show that place because i never seen the whole Roxas city thats great that you vlogging it. have fun injoy your holiday
Thanks for visiting my hometown. It’s been a while when I last visited the city, a lot of construction going on. You need to visit also other towns and attractions that the province could offer. Please visit the town of panay to see the biggest church bell in Asia❤
Eventhough I'm living here for almost 3 years I'm still amazed and captivated in tghe beauty of Roxas City. There are some more places here that I don't explore yet. Anyways, Welcome to the Seafood capital of the Philippines. I love watching all your vlogs..keep it upo and more power...
Holy smoke!u guys visited my hometown👍awesome vlog can't wait for part 2!...Did u guys visited the Roxas City plaza at night?it's more lively at night!..I hope u get a chance to visit the so called Alcatraz ruins near BayBay beach ,the largest bell in Asia which is located in the town of Panay...a trike or a jeepney ride! There is no taxi in Roxas City they used to have only caters the airport to and to any point of Capiz.Taxicle(tricycle)as the people of roxas called it!👍
The Roxas family had now moved to Quezon city where they had built a lot of tall buildings for rental. It used to be called Farmer's Plaza, Cubao, Quezon city in the 80's. Their ancestral houses are still maintained but I doubt if any of them remained in Roxas city.
Great video, the food looked good, my experience with the burgers in nabas wasn't so good haha. Roxas looks pretty good. I've been there but didn't get the chance to explore besides the malls 😋
Panay island is beautiful, I'm so glad to have bought a beach house in Jawili Beach (between Caticlan and Kalibo). I could easily drive to Iloilo for my S&R fix, go to Antique to see the other side of the island, go to Gigantes or even go to Boracay when I feel like it.
Don’t misunderstand, I very much enjoy when TPL features local cuisine. But, it was fun to see a change too with Philippine versions of burgers & ribs & fries (& rice!). I wonder how the ribs were seasoned, if it was like teriyaki or the Filipino bbq taste, or the western bbq sauce. SALAMAT KIM, adding my thanks for the recommendation for TPL!
Go travel east and visit Solina Resort in Carles Iloilo enjoy also scallops in gigantes island and if you want history visit sicogon island still in carles it was the boracay of 70s now develop again by Ayala
Hope u had a chance to visit Panay church..the biggest church bell in the whole Asia is there. Culasi area have many beautiful spots too. The Shrine in Pueblo de Panay is also near the bus terminal..it has the awesome view of the whole city.
Thank you for that very good review of our beloved City. Can't wait to watch the part 2 of the vlog. You are welcome to come back coz Roxas City has a lot more to offer. Madamo gid nga Salamat
just finish eating and watching you eat makes me want to eat again, be in Manila san juan or Makati February hope the two of you can visit, I will ask if can meet mayor of San Juan.
11:30 if im not mistaken thats the capiz shell they named the province after it. Im surprised theres already McDonald's there when i was there in 2015 i was told the mayor was againts it
Yes it is a capiz shell light fixture. I covet a big capiz chandelier so badly. Also luv in the new but retro styles, or even still intact in antique windows & room dividers, when they have capiz as the “glass”. Allows light in but opaque. I remember when anytime I would see capiz shell accessories or decor in the West (which was actually pretty rare unless you were in big cities probably), but if you saw it in a handbag or lamp or Xmas ornament or whatever-it was always made in the Philippines. Nowadays, often from India or Sri Lanka or Thailand, in my browsing/shopping experiences. 🛍️🛒🐚
I recall in a prior TPL vlog, possibly in Romblad?, they toured a gorgeous historic ancestral home. It still had the original capiz shell windows. May not have been Romblas, but I remember in part becoz it was amazing that they survived the Japanese bombing the area! That shell is delicate, I have broken hair ornaments in past dropping them on tile floor; yet it is also very strong.
Ive stayed at Kalibo and Iloilo but never been to Roxas City which is between Iloilo and kalibo. Kalibo has an international airport and Roxas City has the domestic airport which you can fly from Manila.
Question. Would you, generally speaking, consider Roxas City a good place for retirement. Looking basically for a quiet place, close to nature. Excellent video content you guy's consistently put out. Thanks! 🙂👍
@@jenniferinocencio8945 Thank you so much! Much appreciated. I will definitely check this area out. But really nice to hear from someone who is actually retired there...and likes it!
We did contact the city on Facebook, they told us the Mayor was out of town in Manila for a week, we asked if the Vice Mayor or someone else was available and they never responded again. We did try
No we decided we would stop and see the city square before heading to the beach. We weren't sure the sunny weather would stick around and we wanted to make sure we checked it out
Only for this one meal. Also the locals tell me Roxas is number one exporter of seafood so the price is high because there is an easy way to export. Compared to a small town without that ability can only sell local and competition is higher

Wonderful Roxas City 🎉🎉🎉
Panay island in general is very beautiful. It's underrated but it probably the most beautiful and peaceful places to explore and live.

I didn't know you went to my city and I didn't even know it. It's crazy to see it on your own perspectives 😅
Too bad it was a short trip because the typhoon was coming we had to leave days earlier than we planned
You are correct! It has a spanish vibe because the Philippines were colonized by the spaniards in the 1500's for 333 years. 😊
Thanks!

You guys should have gone to PAN-AY SANTA MONICA CHURCH! Very historical church in capiz
We will be back
I think this is the first time I’ve seen good food there ( Philippines)
We seem to find all the gems then because we have been loving the food we find in most cases
Welcome to Roxas city 🙂💗
I took a van from Caticlan to Iloilo, couldn’t imagine what the bus would be like.
Actually the bus is comfortable and and the seats recline. Good a/c they even had a movie playing on the tv

St. Anthony College of Roxas

That was sad that capiz is lagging behind iloilo and bacolod city. Roxas need develop also 😢
It's good to have its own unique flair. We did see developments on the outskirts too
On the other hand, glad that Roxas City has greatly developed but the feel of laid-back, and peaceful is still there 👌☺️

We pinned the top comment of their page and it's directly across from St Anthony College

Do they make the buns with wheat or something else?
We think so
Manuel Roxas was the 5th President of the Philippines.
Have you been to Gigantes and Sicogon?
Not yet it's on the list
