Hey man your videos are awesome and your information behind every min is really gold and smart. I really like that high suport/players have this reading of map and the "why" of their decision in the game 😁. Keep uploading your videos are really original.
I haven't even finished the video yet. But amazing job. Would love to see more of this style. It's kinda like a replay analysis or educational commentary, except the structure of the video really helps emphasize the bite sized points your making. So much easier to absorb this way.
Great video! Couple questions I have: - 4:28 - You say you can't manfight jakiro, which is true. But mars can't either, so one of you has to tank the spells and right clicks from jakiro. Would you say it's better for mars to tank it and you give him tangos, because jakiro will have to push the wave into you to go on mars? - 4:40 - You say to always play on the opposite side of the lane, but isn't this only true if the small camp stays blocked? Let's say jakiro dewards the small camp and tries to stack it at 1:55. You would have to tank a bunch of damage trying to body block or reblock the camp with a sentry. Is it worth it to stay in lane hitting alch, or in this case would you be fine moving to the left side of lane to contest camps? - 6:39 - This is when you fly yourself a stick and eat one of the 2 mangos. Since they were spamming spells from the start, would it be better to start with 3 tangos, blood grenade, 1 mango, faerie, sentry, 1 branch, and magic stick? (basically, losing 1 tango+mango+branch in exchange for magic stick) The magic stick would have at least 5 charges by the time your courier gets to you, which is more hp regen than the extra mango, and you didn't need to use the 2nd mango before the courier got to you. Then, your courier would be tango, salve, mango, sentry or something like that Lastly, some video ideas or things I think would be useful - Some games, all of your cores are very farm heavy and don't make early moves well (e.g. pa, sniper, dark seer). In these cases, how do you setup the map as a team to farm well while not getting picked off, so that you can hit your midgame timing? In these games, it can be risky to contest runes, etc. even if you're ahead in gold because none of your cores help that much. - I like how you point out the mistakes you made - maybe a replay review of a lower rank (5-6k mmr) where you point out some of the mistakes that lower ranks make would be useful. I used to watch dubu's replay reviews and found it very insightful.
yes i can give tango to mars. I'll play opposite to jakiro so if jakiro tries to hit me he takes creep aggro and takes extra damage. if he tries to hit mars in that case me and mars both can hit him back together (also i can use my spells) but if i'm playing the same side then mars cannot connect. if jakiro dewards i don't mind it because the time he's gonna take to deward in that time i'm gonna make alchemist suffer with right click and spell damage. i also have spells to farm small camp if jakiro pulls it. the main issue is i dont want jakiro to stack, either i'll place another sentry to block while he's stacking or i'll fight him while he's busy stacking, he cant stack and fight me at the same time ( he'll take damage from neutrals too, perfect time for me to block small). In stacking case i'll move to camp but i need to keep an eye on alchemist, don't want to end up in 2v1 situation. you're right about starting with magic stick. thanks for the video ideas!
One huge thing i learned early was if you think "what could i do diff, or what did i do wrong" constantly and especially when u die.. you learn faster. Aimless playing will never improve a player
Appreciate your video, I've played support since the first day I play dota most because of my low-mechanic and slowhand 😄. But the more i play support, the more I love it and understand the role's importance and how a support can dictate the game since minute 1
currently on a 'viewing spree' of your vids. so glad there is someone who talks about every decision throughout the game. i think it helps me alot at 7k mmr. so happy I've found you and looking forward to more vids, especially like this one. keep it up!
Generally very insightful video. Its nice for a pos 4/5 player like myself to have the game broken down into smaller bits, and makes it much easier to understand. Would definitely like more like this one! 👍🔥
great video! Personally, I’d like to see you do an analysis of a closer game that goes late. Eg. How to play a teamfight in the late game. How to play the map in different late game scenarios. Thanks!
I can relate to various parts of the video, and I've learned some new things I didn't know. But in short, it's better to be proactive than to be the one to react.
You have the best support guide ever! So the most important part of the game is the early game?i noticed none of this play is possible beyond early game is just too dangetous.
thanks! every part is important be it early game or team fight but yes if as support you've more control in the early game. By control I mean if you're not feeding in your lane, always helping your midlaner with power rune and keep an eye for tp rotations you can change a lot of things.
i just feel helpless as a support at times like for example after giving the carry a really good lane phase, he then start diving recklessly because he felt invincible and the team starts losing because of the feeding. can u show us a game of yours where u look like you are actually losing because of bad teammates then you turn it around due to your support decisions?
I'm making the shotcalls. You cannot expect people to understand what you're thinking (communicate whatever you want them to do) and honestly nobody is going to do anything unless you're making calls
i dont pick weaks pos4, i pick zeus or lina or even sky (if previous are banned) Grimstroke i play on pos5 only, but usually i'm playing more damage supports with low stuns, like some slow I'm getting more success in archon, still some games i cannot win, team pick is nearly griefing + plus enemy team know how to play every single step of the game, they snowball easily.
bottle gets refilled with fountain aura (from base). When you TP from base to somewhere you still have fountain aura effect on you for few seconds (2-3) seconds. If bottle gets passed to you when you've fountain aura, it gets refilled

yes it was worth it. dying to tower gives less gold than dying to actual hero. Main reason to die to tower was - if i had used courier to bring regen resources it would take a lot of time(because courier's speed gets slowed if it is carrying salve/mango/clarity) and then i'd have to stay afk till then. if i walked base that would've taken so much time too so i just saved my gold and time by dying to tower while giving enemy only a little gold (no XP)
thats insane u already added them dang man try to find an auto subtitle editor so it adds it in the video with no effort its really good for retention and view count@@AhsanDota
This type of advice will 100% fail you if you don't play in a five-stack team that's the only way to get consistent wins because if you play solo pub the Matchmaker will recognize when you go above 50% win rate and then it'll start putting you with absolute f****** morons that can't play at all and then there's going to be five high skilled players on the other side that completely destroy your team and they're going to destroy you too so you have to figure out a way to win with the carry mid that's the only way to win you even have to lose all your barracks you absolutely cannot win with a support maybe if you're five stack but definitely not solo
dying to tower gives less gold than dying to actual hero so it's whatever. The value i got is more than giving 150 gold to enemy. Main reason to die to tower was - if i had used courier to bring regen resources it would take a lot of time(because courier's speed gets slowed if it is carrying salve/mango/clarity) and then i'd have to stay afk till then. if i walked base that would've taken so much time too so i just saved my gold and time by dying to tower while giving enemy only a little gold (no XP). If you die to neutral you've a minimum respawn time of 26 seconds which is a lot for early game and you don't even get Free TP upon death, that's why tower.
If your carry is shit in a 3k mmr game and the enemy one isnt - you will very likely lose. Good players seem to have no idea how big the differences are in the shit tier.
comparatively it's easier to carry games in 3k mmr if carry is shit than in higher ranked games. you just need to perform better than everyone in the game.
I do agree that being a support and not being passive is what wins you games. But at the 3k bracket, 7/10 games are unwinnable unless you have a decent cores. When I mean decent, it's someone who hits cs, knows their timings and isn't ego tripping maniac who griefs. The 7/10 games usually comes with your last pick safe lane sf, last pick mid heroes like riki, offlaners picking unconventional heroes like zues. But that's not the worst part, most of the time, these players play and act like literal bots. No map awareness, no game sense, doesn't even type to chat and feeds on purpose without casting any spells in team fights. Yes you heard me, 7/10 of my games, I get this of behaviors as a support. At least I played core roles, my decision can have greater impact for my team to control maps or hit objectives. As a support, yeap... You're stuck with core wannabes who never types in chat and feeds needlessly like your typical bots.
This is what I believed and trust me this mindset didn't let me improve and i was hard stuck 9k. There might be something that you can fix in your game to have good results. whether it's 3k or 10k every bracket has bad players that do really questionable things. If you focus on your game and avoid everything bad, misplays around you, you might be able to do better.
If those bots can stay at your rank that means you do something equally as bad as them😂, valve doesn't hate you and isn't putting bad players on your team and only good players on enemy team
You are 10k MMR and this was your logic for starting items? 2 sets of tangoes when you can possibly waste the first set until your courier arrived with the second set which you will get from runes ( 95% of all games at least). Instead of getting a magic wand in an aggressive lane where you yourself said "they will be casting a lot of spells " I call bs. I do all of what you say and it isn't enough to climb as support. At least not in WEU. If you do all of these tips, and your team feeds you lose or the enemy team above crusader knows how to counter you. You might get to people who don't know how to counter you at archon but only if lucky. If you believe this can get you to immortal I want to see stats of you solo queueing from herald to divine in WEU with those tips and make it. Let me save you some time. You will make it but it will take you 2+ years of grind....
