13K MMR Explains How to ACTUALLY Play Support
This coaching session covers almost everything that you need to know about how exactly Dota is played in the current patch 7.37e. The advice I shared in this is not restricted to support only but applies to every role; basically, it goes over how to play the map, how/when/where to take fight and so much more.

    This (objectiveless fighting) is really bad, but you have a strong draft. This lane didnt go well but you played mid game well with vision. TLDR: strong draft and great game sense beats strong lanes and early kills.

    When your mid got 2k farm in 10 min even when you help him so much, then your carry decided bkb is for loser when enemy has a full magic lineup. Try winning that. Most games my cores suck so hard, their itemisation like melstrom gyro. I hate playing in low ranks

      That's not the point of these videos. Sure, if your mid PA gets ganked twice and starts griefing, tough luck. But this is about your choices when playing supports and how those choice can impact the game. Over time, you will gain MMR. Don't focus on teammates that make bad choices, focus on yourself.

    the not letting frustration get the better of you is imo by far one of the most difficult things in this game, i am truly amazed you were able to keep it together in a situation as abysmal as this. honestly, the importance of not losing your head is something i don't see reflected in the player's skill level (=mmr) in other games, sports, or disciplines - whether it's a 1v1 or a team situation. and it makes dota one of the most brutal grinds i've ever experienced. because the frustration is more than justified - for example, if i prove in the first 10 minutes that i'm the best player on the map, it is perfectly natural to expect my team to listen to my calls, play around my powerspikes, and basically give me the Liquid.Miracle- treatment. but unfortunately, that's not how pubs go, and the frustration that results from this has lost me thousands of more games than my lack of mechanical skill or game sense. to be honest, it's wild because if i compare it to something like chess, if i destroy the enemy hard enough in the opening, it's way harder to throw than it is in dota. if two martial artists fight and one of them is far superior, it's basically a done deal, the likelihood that the skilled martial artist loses is markedly lower than the 1 skilled player in a dota game. or if we take a team sport such as soccer, if you have a 5v5 at a playground but one of them is messi, it's going to be nearly impossible for that team to lose. but even if that player is not messi (=10k or 9k smurf), let's say they're a college athlete that shows promise (=not a smurf, just playing better than the rest); indeed, even in that situation, it will be much easier for that player to solo carry the game because 1. in person, people are more likely to be cooperative and 2. the game doesn't have so many situational problems that can mess that player's game up completely, whereas in dota you can be hard countered (and this matters way more than it used to in my opinion, at least as a core player), you can accidentally misclick at any point in the game which can have game losing repercussions, you can hold your bkb or cast your spell juuuuust 0.001 seconds too late and oh well that's you dead too bad, you can randomly walk into a smoke even if you're being careful, you can get fogged randomly in a fight and the enemy lives on 1hp and turns it all around with satanic...how the fuck is that fair? there's just sooo many weird, *extremely* tilting things that can happen in dota, which means you need to be playing far, far, far above your level to be able to have the winrate you deserve - the winrate that reflects how much more you care about winning than your teammates. also i'm beginning to accept that some heroes just aren't good for solo queue, and that's that. if you're playing a hero that's extremely easy to feed with, for example, it's much more unfair to you, the best player in the game, than if you were playing a versatile hero that can fill many roles and has good mobility to escape. what's the point of stomping the lane if i can't play in the enemy's face because my hero can still die easily? if you determine you are better than the rest of the players in the game by a large margin, i believe you should absolutely pick only heroes that can abuse that skill differential as much as humanly possible. otherwise you end up losing games you could have won, which is also extremely tilting. in the end, the greatest cure, that has never ever failed me, is playing only 1 ranked game a day. because the level of gameplay that you need to have to carry ignorant players while simultaneously keeping your cool is far too exhausting to do for more than 1-2 games a day. anything past that and you're just asking for the loss streaks lol

    What if you are getting stomped hard in the lane against a veno who can gale you? Do you still try to drag the wave, or do you just accept that you have lost the lane? I would worry that I would feed trying to drag the wave against veno

    • @AhsanDota
      @AhsanDota 7 днів тому

      Don't reveal your position on map for too long, just show up when you want to drag wave, veno cannot solo kill you with gale when you are dragging wave. If you wanna play normal lane against veno then simply don't walk into areas where you feel like enemy heroes can go 2v1 on you with veno slow. Block small camp and rotate on map and pressure other lanes, there's so much u can do

    Honestly, this is why I stick to playing ranged supports who can secure creeps and contest in lane. This patch I have been playing Pugna, Ringmaster, SD, and Wyvern very successfully. Even in immortal bracket, it can be hard to coordinate cutting waves, and sometimes this can go very badly if your lane partner doesn't realize what is going on. So I avoid playing these double-melee lanes which can completely grief your game if you have a bad matchup like MK, Viper, Veno, Razor, etc.

  • @littleidols
    @littleidols 8 днів тому

    so can you cut in 1st wave or only 2nd? same on both lanes? do you have to be in certain range of the tower for them to aggro you? or do you need to force aggro by clicking a hero? coz sometimes they didnt follow me unless i spammed around or something

    • @AhsanDota
      @AhsanDota 8 днів тому

      can't cut 1st wave. wave cutting starts from 2nd wave, they'll start to follow you when they are about to reach near small neutral camp

    • @taRomi93
      @taRomi93 8 днів тому

      Logically, offlane is supposed to be stronger than the safelane anyways, if you are the carry, the assumption is that you scale better than other heroes in the game. So if you are stronger in the early game and also in the late game, then you are probably broken cuz you have no weak point to try and exploit in order to win

    This type of advice will 100% fail you if you don't play in a five-stack team that's the only way to get consistent wins because if you play solo pub the Matchmaker will recognize when you go above 50% win rate and then it'll start putting you with absolute f****** morons that can't play at all and then there's going to be five high skilled players on the other side that completely destroy your team and they're going to destroy you too so you have to figure out a way to win with the carry mid that's the only way to win you even have to lose all your barracks you absolutely cannot win with a support maybe if you're five stack but definitely not solo

    An easy example of a power spike; when you get a mekansm on Undying - especially if you had a good lane (which is very likely) to get it early. At this point you can literally go from lane to lane and push the T1's with your teammates. The only issue is getting your teammates to understand how powerful you are at this point as Undying, but if you're able to convince them, you'll pretty much get complete map control if the power spike gets used.

      pick strong meta supports to have more control over the game and don't play when you're getting tilted, you'll feel good + grind some mmr as well
