reality: You leave your carry on the lane to help elsewhere, your carry immediately dies
typical sea moments and then says "end" if they die lol
AHAHAHAH that's so true, that makes me cry😂
Make pull before leave your carry and he'll be fine under tower 🤓
so true, especially these dumb europe servers, cuz i main pos4-5 i set them up good then go to gank other lanes and tell them, they dive solo and still die like tf??
@@unknownsource1485 You still make SEA server jokes? When it is proven this things happen all around other servers ..
Clear, concise and not overwhelming
As someone who recently switched to support main, these are the things I'm trying to work and improve on
Another tip that doesn't necessarily fit the "laning phase" but will get you a lot of mmr:
STOP straight tp'ing after respawning. SAVE your TPs! You may not be fully aware how important this is, but seriously, it makes the game easier for you and your teammates.
THINK for a moment. CHECK MAP: is any other lane at risk in the let's say 0 to 30 secs due to potential rotations? (specially when enemy cores reach lvl 6, dangerous runes, etc.)
- IF yes, WALK back to YOUR lane.
- IF you see HIGH risk at say offlane and you somehow figured out say mid lane is coming to gank, TP there already!
- IF you are not sure what lane is at high risk AND you know you tp'ing back to your lane makes no difference, just WALK anywhere you see fit better, at least you have your TP ready.
Basically, try to save your TP as much as you can. You may only insta tp back to your lane on very very early game.
@@luishurtado2170the half pull is really where i'm struggling at. I always end up pulling the entire wave
Perfect, now I can finally have a chance of winning when I get pos5 when I queue all roles.

@@KheZu why no more videos
1) Buy stats and regen to win trades and enable your carry
2) Always block their big camp and unblock your small camp
3) Trade with pos 4 if you are stronger. If not - harass their pos 3
4) Half pull 2-3 creeps on small camp if lane is pushed
5) 2:40 Prepare to get lotus
6) 5:00 Look for places where you can rotate and help your teammates
7) 5:40 Prepare to help get the power rune
8) 6:30 Prepare to go for enemy wisdom rune if you have a stun
For Me as a support player on low mmr your video helped me to think more about supporting and how to do it right thank you for your commenting and telling about what moves they do and for what !
First thing I had to say as a response to this video is that it caters only to people in the higher skill bracket. If you commit so much gold to supporting in lower brackets, you're going to find yourself losing in every single game, with a few exceptions. The reason for this is that pos 1 and 2 in higher skill brackets can take full advantage of rotations and pulls to pull ahead of their opponent laners. Every advantage created will result in a positive outcome.
However, I can guarantee that if a WR went mid in the lower skill brackets, did exactly what Sneyking did, DP would not have died because the follow-up from Invoker and NP would've been non-existent. This is simply because they lack the presence of mind and/skill of players in a higher bracket. You would've achieved nearly nothing, your pos 1 would've died after being left alone for over 30 secs and you would now be at a gold and exp disadvantage against the opponent pos 3 and 4.
All advice isn't good advice for everyone and it's prudent to consider all factors before trying to inculcate something new. Dependance on your pos 1 and 2 should increase proportionately with MMR.
i dont fully understand your first point
if you use so much gold on supporting its not good for you?
These starting items are nearly the best for every lane, no matter what your carry does.
You should always look to who you can help most, but with this attitude youre not going to get very far
i think ideally you want to give yourself the best possible chance to win any game 👍
Its not just your carry who can take Advantage of a won lane, you can too. Try it!
main point for me being, this video is for any mmr 😅
but you can skip some of the points if you think they are less likely to work, hope the other ones are useful though
@@KheZu It's quite tedious to have to explain something so obvious but it displays what was already clearly apparent in your videos.
You don't seem to understand factors beyond what you see in a skill bracket of players who are practiced and efficient. Most of your tips are largely useless in the lower skill brackets. If Dota 2 was such a simple game as to the extent your subpar intelligence can comprehend, everyone in every skill bracket who used your strategy would win their lane, which is a statistical impossibility.
Carries are not always good, and you will lose the game against a support that chose to make items like Rod of Atos or Aether Lens over spending it all on support items. They understand that carries in their skill bracket are nowhere near capable enough to carry 4 other people, a concept outside of your capability of understanding. You seem to think of Dota as an ideal world where every pos 1 and 2 will do nothing wrong, which is incredibly stupid.
Learn to see things more than what they are at face value. You won't go very far otherwise.
another thing to note, the type of carry is also important, if your carry is a natural pusher such as naga or you pick a support warlock, i personally don’t recommend blocking their camp since your gonna need it yourself because thhe waves are always constantly gonna be pushed in
why would u want to push the lanes at the first place as warlock and naga? if u clear the waves so fast, enemy will have free waves. the idea is to reduce the offlane impact while ur farming
@@kiploism normally no one would want to push the lanes, but naga or walrock or jakiro will inevitably push the waves due to their abilities (maybe jakiro not if they use their skills without affecting the wave) but for naga its really inevitable, if she wants to harass enemies she will have to send illusions at them and hit the wave constantly to keep proc riptides, but regardless of that she is a hero that can clear jungle and a wave at the same time at minute 4 if she has a decent or a winning matchup. if her matchup is good you now harrasing the enemy and getting all the wave and also farming a jungle at the same time so yes you may be pushing the wave but also farming jungle at the same time while they are being harassed and only getting lane creeps
sry for long reply but i had to explain all the details
@@3arooshy465 the offlane still gonna fat if u give free waves
@@kiploism and the solution to that is my main comment itself, don’t block the big camp because your gonna use it to kill your own wave or at least deny two of your creeps, the lane will restart to being close to ur tower and gonna harass and farm the wave witht procing riptides and rinse and repeat, im not a pro or immortal player but im sying all this because i am an advanced naga player myself
Came here as a warlock spammer, don't block the hard camp. Maybe at first but if it expires or they deward it it's fine. Let them pull and then fatal bonds the enemy to all the creeps and then upheaval. Watch offlane explode. Sure, your carry might have missed a wave but now the offlaner is dead or low HP and can't even touch a creep.
It finally happened the pros have discovered the patented siractionslacks half pull

@abdurrahim618 sometimes too far to walk there
If it's not your problem don't worry about it.. avoid the player gl next... That's just how it is...
That’s why ench is favored by pro player, you can destroy early game with limited support item, you have free heal and every time the enemy try to pull, you just enchant the creep and farm them without spending 50 gold to prevent that
@@Personnoname114pros actually block their own hard camp against ench or they will get fucked. the time for ench to walk to another camp to get a creep is important

This video was so frickin useful. How I've not known the proper lane position is beyond me. Thank you Khezu!
Love these! Would love one on playing the lane as a meele support, especially vs ranged heroes! I've always struggled laning/positioning in sitations like that
Will make sure to add that to the list
Generally this one is either about 1) soaking pressure with heroes like undying or 2) if you play tusk, you want to use fog a lot and try to apply pressure with tag team or lvlup timings to get kills
Wow. Never understood what should I do as pos five. the way you just explained it is pure value.

Thank you so much this is great! Staying active as pos 5 and helping other lanes is what I love about the new size of the map and the objectives.
Would be great to know when to pull and how to do half pull. I tend to not pull so much as I prioritize harassing the enemy instead

Okay, I knew a lot of this already, but HALF-PULLING seems like a genuinely valid tactic. Thanks for putting stuff out like this!
This is straight up the best and most concise pos 5 guide I've ever seen. Nice 👍
I learned a lot more in this 6-min video than all those games I was on. Lol. Good stuff!

Nice!! So easy to do and so to the point. Thanks for the tips - it's worth its weight in gold! I would love to see a short guide like this for every role :)
Will look to do that asap!
good job i searched a lot for play early lane@@KheZu . Maybe a single pull to push wave naturally min2. ward at 5-6 min top left of bountry rune to see roaming enemies woud complete this a bit more. Maybe when carry goes woods single pull to farm under tower for safety cause it will push wave but who cares you just want the gold xp safe under tower. When leave core eg axe with vanguard so you need leave him maybe. mm if catapults are in other lane you go push . Maybe just leaving commend here if anyone sees. I dont know what is missing im trying to figure it out.
This was so good. You a goat, KheZu :D
Quality Content! The video is short but includes all the important tips. That's what I was looking for. 👌
Amazing content KheZu, we all really appreciate it! Could you make a video explaining how to play the midgame as a support? I'm good at following your tips in the laning phase and I win most of my lanes, but I feel completely lost in the midgame. I feel like I always make the wrong decision. For example - If I smoke with my mid/offlaner, we get wiped more often than not.
I already have a little bit of a followup ready for the future.
Before uploading , since it will take a long time, ill try to give you quick advice
Generally you can 2 modes in Dota which keep fluctuating back and forth
Agressive and defensive
You are skywrath/snapfire/grim, most of the time u wanna play agro and help get kills with your mid or offlaner if they are ready. inbetween cooldowns you can play defensive and protect your cores or place wards
If you are a hero like SD/venge/warlock and there are no agro plays currently, look to enable your cores by helping them farm (break smokes, stack) untill theres a timing and go back to mode 1 (agro)
This is perfect as I practice pos5 and maining support.
That was awesome, getting back at dota, contents like this helps a lot
Thanks bro, whoever can play pos 5, is a a really good at pos 1 / 2 ❤
True
I do both pos1 and 5
Bro amazing content! Thank you!

I like this Dota how-to more than many others. It's short and straight to the point - IDK mf's out there thinking posting an entire 50 minute match is helpful (it's the equivalent of 'hey you wanna go be good? just watch me play'). Your video did something they also don't normally do; you provide insight as to why you do things and what goes through your mind. TY!
This is a very solid advice. I'm currently on an 11 game winning streak just by abusing this trick. I go into games just dedicated to not let the enemy offlane get the hard camp. Just keep blocking the camp until minute 5 mark where most of the time my pos 1 is ready to jungle and just dip in an out of lane to catch creepwave
At 1:20 you divide the lane into sides, one facing the edge of the map and the other the main jungle.
You then mention that the stronger support usually occupies the main jungle side.
A thing that I've noticed over the years, however, is that the stronger support might try and come to the other side of the lane to create a fight. This then prompts the weaker support to maneuver back and then to the opposite side to evade direct confrontation, and this can repeat, creating a little dance of hide and seek in-between of pulling and harassing etc.
Good supports should be prepared for this and adapt, going to meet the weaker support (occasionally) if stronger (to catch them off guard) or evading direct confrontation if weaker.
In any case this wastes time for the weaker support, which means that if timed right, it can either get a kill or mess up some important timing.
In other words the stronger support can use this tactic to create additional pressure that isn't inherent to the lane dynamics.

You could also touch the topics of how better to use your resources on lane, on how to trade with pos 4 and when. How not to waste your spells sometimes, since that opens a window for enemy duo to kill you or your carry. Which items you priorities buying first minutes of laning etc. Great vid regardless

stacking S tier play if you can

It's a little funny the shadow demon support, played by a pro, bought boots of speed first item (5:05) since the first seconds of clip starts with telling us how bad it is to do that. xd

Im a new player, and this video made my experience so much better, thanks for it
The level of play in different countries is different.
In Russia, the 5th position buys one blue ward to unward the small camp, and block the big one with himself, then stack the small one at the second minute, pull the big one to the side to block it again. At the third minute, pull and collect a full pack
Ty! Keep these coming!

Thank you very informative! Would love tips for pos 3 & 4 🎉
Thanks for the video -- it was super fun to watch
Best basic build for pos5 is for me: 1 set of tangoes, 2 sentries, stick, 2 branches and faerie fire. But there are couple of rules I figure out way, way too late in my dota life (6k games played).
1. 95% of games you dont need mana regen item from start of the game. You have full mana pool, and you have one spell, so you can't burn it all in 1-2 minutes in the game. 1st courier trip can handle it.
2. use your courier asap. Right after bounty runes you have extra approx 100-150 gold to play with. If you use it right away you have adventage
3. harrass is priority no.1 like 95% of the time. you can pull, you can last hit far away creep, but you MUST harras and trade hits.
4. Never underestimate additional regen. Don't try to save money on it. Get tangos, salve, clarity, mango in time, not when you are out and have like 20% of HP.
5. Infused Raindrop is BiS in 90% games as pos5 in early game. It gives you like 5-6 extra stenght worth of HP (bracer) in fight. And mana regen of sages mask. It is retarded how good it is.
Would have to see the full replay, but wondering how CM managed to keep the hard camp blocked for almost 4 mins if he can't walk to the left of the lane without taking a bad trade. He also can't shove the wave super easily into mars hoodwink
Sometimes people forget, sometimes you can try to sneak over to block a new sentry
and sometimes you also get to push the lane in (it did happen in this game)
It was just yesterday that I suckwd so much in the game and wanted to take a break from it. Thanks for getting me back to the addiction.
😂

very helpful, makes me think what can and what should i do as pos 5, btw always played pos 1, so i actually understand what i want to see from my pos 5.

Love your approach and how you make videos. Would love a mid analysis (pls let it be an earth spirit replay)
Thank you! Its coming
(But not earth spirit 😅)
yes yes yes we need tons of pos 5 contents mr khezu pls
I've been playing as a position 4 or 5 support in Dota 2. I've been a Crusader since the beginning. Nowadays, I focus on roaming to collect bounty runes, water runes, and power-ups. While doing this, I still manage to stack neutrals and pull the creeps, especially when I'm playing as a position 5. Am I roaming too much? I do this to help our midlaner gain an advantage during the laning phase by securing the water runes and the 6-minute power rune. I can also assist them if they're struggling in mid by creating stacks that they can farm after the 6-minute mark, or sometimes later, depending on the situation.
but the problem is while im doing it im leaving my carry at the lane, but some people can handle the pressure when I leave the lane, some of it they just cry and throw. they want us to hug them through out the game, wtf.
I have trouble with half pulling the small camp a lot of the time, is there any way I can guarantee that the wave will split in half? Is there a specific time I should aggro the creeps?
try do it at second 20 each time you pull
try to pull at any time. Just think about their "attack" landing on you. thats what makes it aggro
just practice bro, you can make own custom game or a.i.
it's just the feels to do it, thats work for me atleast
there are a trick actually - you need to take 1st wave of attacks from camp and stay still, on 2nd wave of attack from small camp you has to be behind your ranged creep in around 100 units to pull 2 creeps from creep-wave (1 ranged and 1 melee) or to be in 200 units to pull single ranged creep
You can always first stack at minute 2 than pull u can deny 2 or 3 wave creep if enemy was bad
The purchase from Snake is really very cool. I have everything the same, but in addition to 3 trees I also take tango and mango
Thats a great guide for really clueless people..
If you block the camp from start you take away their chance to ruin their own game with the classic 3rd wave pull (at 1:20) …
Always let the camp spawn once, if they pull at 1:20-> perfect they just gave you freewin lane…
if they don‘t pull: attention your enemys are maybe not braindead, block the camp befor minute 2 so they cannot stack it!!
Should do a video on how to know which objective to take
I would love more of this kinda of content
Thank you for making this!
Great, precise and helpful, thanks alot sir
