thats a decent material, thx from support to support! the only thing im doubting here is the video shows pretty much snowballing game, when the matchup on the line were favourable to be aggresive. I wonder if you can show how to play from behind, being in the team who wants the game to turn late and just trying to respond the push without loosing map (+ as @Thesinistereyes1 mentioned melee 4pos would be great for such kind of review).
As a Herald support player, I suggest always be ready to carry the game. Cause your carry will either keep on farming when 5 enemies dead.. or he will DC after 30-40 mins farming
I always tend to check the wards on the enemies' supp so I can guess whether he puts a ward to block camp or block the camp using his hero. And, always buys 2 sentry wards! When you win the pulling game, the chance of you winning the lane is high.
I play pos 4 low immortal but mostly melee ganking support so the positioning is usually opposite to you in fights. I would like to see someone who has 10k perspective on a melee support lane.
Hey man, I love support guides. Do you think you could make a series on how to play a certain hero? Like rn Treant protector is super popular. Someone like me could watch a video from a top support perspective on how to milk all the mmr possible from understanding best pos5 in current meta
I wouldn't say I'm "new" but I'm certainly not a seasoned vet either. I wish I could even begin to understand and implement all this but I often feel like the carries im supporting know less than even I do. I really wish people would make content designed for people to work around mouth breathing casuals cuz it often doesn't matter what I do. People just run it down lane sometimes and my job is babysitting trying to keep a dude alive that's ultimately just going to feed his brains out come mid game anyways.
Every single spell on my side is on quick cast. The only thing I do without is like 2 out of 6 items are without quickcast. in my opinion quick cast is 10 times better and faster but you need a lot of time to get used to it. I played like 2 years without quick castbut when I changed I felt 10 times better after some time.
5k pos 5 player here, always struggling with pos 4, because I was having issues with that line and what to do next, went and how, this is pretty helpful, One think that I have its that I dont know how to transition from a pos4 into a pos 3, I mean talking about damage, I'M the suppport type, but went game goes late, I lose the timming and best item selection, could you give some advices?
I mean depends on your hero. But I go a lot of the time for a casual Midas after my first item. Especially when I can already feel that the game is going very late.
This is good, I am learning a lot. Question, I struggled a lot when 3 of my cores just want to farm, and it's very hard for me to do solo plays as a 4, 5. Is there anything else to do other than cut wave?
Staying behind them and waiting for enemy smokes. Or you split waves and farm farm farm aswell there is not much to do if nobody wants to play. But eventually there is a fight starting and it's much better if U have 2-4 items urself as a support at this time.
this doesnt work in lower mmr.. where people dont know how to group, I've played games vs nyx/riki/clinkz told them just be close together so we can counter ganks. They just kept feeding being solo killed on locations without sentry
hi! first off thanks for this amazing content. im really looking forward to seeing more of this in depth stuff. if you care i want to say its extremely exhausting to watch if you pause the replay every other second and is very distracting. i think it would be alot more accessible if you could let it play a bit and pause for explanation. seems especially weird when the replay is running speed up
Ofc it does. But I can tell you one thing from experience. It is so much better playing Dota when you mute voice chat and the normal chat but the problem is then U don't hear the casual calls or moves. Like: use the smoke, ward here or whatever. Either U accept that and you play 10 times better then you should do or you try to read and understand your team and the enemy team what they want to do.
I play at a lower MMR and if the cores are not interested in engaging the enemy even when we have the power spike, what am I supposed to do? Ultimately they will start blaming the supports when we loose as they have the items by farming the jungle. If we hit creeps or NC, they will start complaining the supports are farming NC instead of ganking. Can two supports fight or push in mid game?
I think the reason my winrate on pos5 is so much higher than on pos4 is because I know when to abandon my carry and trilane with my offlaner and pos4 on the offlane (always nice when the mid rotates too). The issue I run into while playing pos4 is that my pos5 will continue babysitting the carry 8-12 minutes into the match, and my mid will continue to passively farm mid for even longer. If I'm not playing in a bracket where my hard support or mid (reliably) understands the importance of pressuring the enemy carry, should I be prioritizing heroes that can at least gank mid? I find that midlane ganks are much harder to execute because of the tower proximity and high ground darkness. So youre trying to kill the strongest guy on the enemy team with everything stacked against you.
Liked your content very much, however, after you played with my brother in a pub, where you were very toxic towards him, I can't watch your content with the same eyes, I suggest zour work on that as well :)
Your videos should not be fast forwarded Just play at normal speed when you are talking instead of pausing and unpausing. It gives a very bad viewing experience
Witch doctor, shadow shaman, cm, they are relatively strong in most cases, also marina if you need long-range support with stun who can roam easily. In this patch treent is one of the most contested supports also in those 2 roles bu5t you need a little practice since he's a male not range.
I like these 6 heroes: Meles: Tusk, Treant and Clock. Range: Bane, Invoker and Muerta. If you don't play Invoker and Muerta then you can go for venge and nature's prophet.
@@5updota the question was about "to start with support" Most of your suggestions are good but not for the starting player, you need practice with all of them, range supp with slows stuns and press R ults are better in my opinion for newbies to.
I mean sure that is correct but it also depends on the player aswell. I startet Dota with Pangolier, Earthspirit and Invo and both of them are not really friendly for newbies either but at some point you will learn them its a hard path but it can work :D

In lower brackets problem is that many cores after lanning stage dont consdier pressuring and most of them just go afk farm :( (I mean all of them)
do you have quick casts for any spells or items? I feel like every rubick's spell is great with quick cast. Maybe not the stolen spells.

the pausing makes it easier to focus on listening for me. what's even better is that we got a pre-explanation which makes things easier
pausing a speed up replay 12 times in 15 seconds does help no one
which is why it's a trivial matter and we listen to the words spoken.
good insight, does this still work if i mute all 9 players in the game tho

Watch Gaimin Gladiator support and you will understand. The secret is to play around mid lane. If mid is having a good time. Ez mmr
