Of course, the biggest issue with alternators is, they really don't (generally) make that much power. 12v 65a only translates into 780 watts. Before rectification, this amounts to only 6.5 amps at 120v...and negates the linear slope form of the power generation (as RPM increases, so does voltage). Consider, that just to build a 3.5kw 'power generator', it would require (in addition to the 6.5 hp combustion engine), a 'farm' of 5-such alternators, power-rectified to DC, placed into parallel circuit arrangement, then into a PC circuit using parallel mosfets...wow, watts cost a LOT OF MONEY to change current flows!
For low-speed use (such as with a windmill), you would need an in-circuit voltage regulator to charge a lead-acid battery and not damage it (which is why alternators have regulators built-in)...and you couldn't use this alternator as a 'generator head', because, well, it only makes 650-watts (far too heavy and bulky for the little power it produces to be efficient). Far greater 'power generation' efficiency can be had with AC induction motors...where the electromagnetic field is replaced with permanent magnets (opposite of the way most do it - where they drill and fit permanent magnets into the armature), but the way in which the most-durable true 'power generators' are made.

[3:20] don't use angle grinders without the guard in place as cut-off wheels do shatter and produce serious eye and facial injuries. Use of safety glasses AND a face shield is wise. Also, wear leather gloves so as to reduce chance of loosing a finger.

Someone asked about replacing the rotor coil with magnets. When the rotor has permanent magnets, the alternator is not able to be controlled by a charge controller. With the rotor coil, the current through the rotor coil can be varied to control the output of the alternator. Zero coil current gives almost no output. It takes only an amp to make the alternator put out hundreds of watts. The rotor coil should have a 10 ohm resistor in series to limit the battery current.

What diagram you need? The guy cut off all winding and connect all like one line, serial connection. Now is voltage is over than normally. The point is Who will be move a shaft?
If you take the armature apart and remove the winding and replace with circular speaker magnets, north pole to the front and south to the rear or vise versa put it all back together you do away with the need for exciter.

Did you ever of ohms law? 220 volts, how much current?
64 amps at 12 volts is around 770 watts, convert that to 220 volts, you'd get around 3.5 amps.
Um last I ck'd a pure signal wave inverter will do the same thing only better - your alt has ripples. whats that mean after a while whatever you are running on it will burn out,not good in the long run, but hey nice demo!

My question would be if you have the solar panel and battery what do you need the alternator for? The sun will make the solar panel work to charge the battery. All you need now is an inverter and it saves a LOT of work.
Good question. The solar panel is too week for serious source, then more expensive. If winter time water proof is not so water can destroy panel.

why take alternater apart when alternater can charge battery anyway with a large enough dc motor run off same large battery the alternater is charging ,, just hook up a couple of 12 volt 25 watt light bulbs or whatever watts you can get in 12 volts , i dont remember what all watts you can get ,, its been years since i did it before i moved to philipines
