WOW, really cool how that works and I see why so many people have asked for this functionality. Based on information you've provided in previous videos, I created a workaround to kinda do the same thing when I needed more than just a simple rhythm/lead patch. This, I hope, will simplify that process. Looking forward to your next video to go more in-depth using scenes.
Great video, as always, Doug! Note that you can also click/touch the scene name at the top near the preset name. This opens a drop-down list of the Scenes that are available. Touch a Scene name and it activates the scene. This is very useful when programming from the hardware touchscreen. If you have a block open for editing, say an amp model, you can switch scenes by using this drop down menu and it keeps the amp block open for editing so you can see how the parameters change from scene to scene.
Press the FS MODE HOLD:LOOPER button just once, don't hold it down. I was having the same problem, It's right above the TAP 120 BPM HOLD:TUNER button. it's how you toggle in and out to return to the master screen. I thought I had messed up the firmware update. It should be mentioned in the video really.
I was thinking whether I should switch my presets with Switchlink to Scene. I hope there was an easy way to just transfer those presets with Switchlink to Scene, but I guess there is no way now other than going into each Switchlink preset and save that as a new scene. So far, I prefer using Switchlink as it shows how each sub-preset is different (i.e. it shows all the changes I made to the each sub-prest), but guess it will be easier to use Scene when I make a new preset...
I'm following along and building the same rig you have in the video, but it won't let me add the Glooper pedal to the base preset. It's greyed out in the add menu and I can't select it. How did you add it? It looks like the preset is out of space or memory when I add the second amp to the base preset. Edit: I can add everything if I pick the Fender deluxe reverb as amp only. Is that what you did?
Can you please show how to use the Gig View with scenes? For example, let's say you have a 10-song set list, and all songs have 9 scenes, how would it look in terms of selecting the next song, etc? Much appreciated. Thanks for the great content!
Yes you can! In this new firmware update we added MIDI CC's for controlling the 8 Effects footswitches. Send the MIDI CC for the appropriate footswitch that has the scene assigned to it.
@@JStillwell-wm3ln Thank you. That is good to know. It would be great to be able in the future to just send the CC for a scene without involving any footswitches.
I dont know if this is normal, but i set up my scene for mods and ambient and clean, but i want the overdrive pedals to be independent from any scene, but if I have a ambient and add an OD that I did that set up in scene, if I then switch to a clead ambient mod, and go back to my regular ambient, the overdrive is still there, when in the initial set up I did t have it there... anyone else having this issues where other pedals automatically get added to that scene, or is that how it's supposed to be
Yes, it's normal. In essence you 'added' the OD to the scene when you activated it.If you switch to a different preset and then come back, the OD won't be active in that scene. Your best option is to add another scene with that OD active.
Maestrooo has tus videos con subtítulos , por que en español no hay nadie que explique como tú lo haces . X favor jeje espero y algún día lo hagas . Están muy bien explicados tus videos les entiendo poco pero igual los veo , gracias
This is the best video on TMP Scenes I have watched. Very straight forward and easy to understand. Thanks Doug!
Thank you!
What a great way to explain this Doug.
Thank you! New suscriber
Awesome, thank you! 🙏

I'll add that to the next video, thanks Jason!
Yes, I agree, this is the best video on TMP I have watched. But in my case for some reason the footswitches in the unit do not show the scene options.
Have you upgraded the firmware on your TMP?

Unfortunately there is no way to convert Switchlink presets to Scenes automatically.
Thank you Doug for this masterclass. I love my Tonemaster Pro, the thing is i have to left it to go to work sometimes 😀.
You and me both!
Could you do a scene for Hotel California by the Eagles thanks

Yes - the convolution reverb in the regular amp model take a lot of the available memory, so I use the amp-only version.
Thanks again Doug!👍🏻
You are very welcome
Invaluable! Thanks Doug you rock!
I'm glad it helped!
Fender should put a link to your channel in the box.
Thank you!

Is it a good idea to have the base preset as a usable one, saves a slot i guess
9 is one better than 8, no? 👍
Nice video als always, but can you also switch Scenes via MIDI?
Not yet, but I would imagine that Fender will probably add that functionality - and the sooner, the better!
Yes you can! In this new firmware update we added MIDI CC's for controlling the 8 Effects footswitches. Send the MIDI CC for the appropriate footswitch that has the scene assigned to it.

Thanks Jason - I was thinking that those particular MIDI CCs were literally for FX. Duh!

@DougBsDigitalDen oh ok, awesome, I thought i was missing a step somewhere. Thanks Doug, and thanks for all the help in your videos
thanks man
You're welcome 👍
Excellent
I think Fractal has gapless preset switching on all models now.
I sold my Fractal modelers a year ago and Cliff had been working on making presets gapless at that time. Thanks for the update.
Fractal and Helix both suddenly added gapless switching right about a year ago...purely coincidence I'm sure.

Buscaré los subtítulos y veré qué puedo hacer para ayudar a la comunidad que no habla inglés. ¡Gracias por hacérmelo saber!
