As an owner (and lover) of the TMP, I watched this just to say what I‘ve been too lazy to find out on my own. ;-) And I found something really cool! While the Aux doesn‘t have a volume per se (as they usually don‘t), you kindly showed me I can route it to an otherwise unused output and control the Aux volume from there. Brilliant! This will be great from my rhythm-keeping stompbox pedal (Meinl Kick).
I was glad to see Fender get into the game. My Helix will be 10 years old soon and should it ever die, the more replacement options the better. Thanks for the demo 👍🏽
Sir!! This is exactly what I needed to see!!! I bought mine a few days ago, and was like now what?😮 I don’t have a mixer, do I need one? All I have is my guitars, the pedal ( same as yours) and my MacBook Pro. Sorry I’m a noobie🥺
Actually, you may already have everything you need. You don't need a mixer. I was just telling everyone what my setup was. You can plug into your MacBook Pro and use it as an audio interface for garage band. The outputs can be plugged into many different things. The outputs can go to a guitar amp, mixer, studio monitors, or PA speakers. You can just use the headphone output on the Fender Tone Master if that is all you want to use. The Fender Tone Master is quickly becoming my favorite guitar pedal. I hope you enjoy yours. Congratulations on your new investment.
Great video. Just received my TMP a few days ago, as it is my first modeler. The UI is straightforward,l and the tones are great. The volume management took a bit to figure out. I can wait to hook up my acoustic and a mic to it!
Hello Marcus - Good video and informative. I have been searching to determine if the fender tone master pro will change tunings like the Line 6 HX stomp can do. Start a gig with a vocalist that changes original keys of songs quite a bit and would really like to just click a button to change or build a setlist in the correct keys for his vocals. thanks!
I think you might be referencing Poly Capo, which is For simply transposing your guitar. I am aware of it, but I have not used it. My line 6 collection contains older gear. Essentially, it is a pitch shifter. There are pedal effects on the Fender that are also pitch shifters, though none were demonstrated in this basic video. The pitch shifters on the Tone Master can be tied to the wah pedal, and you can use it to change pitches. Fender just released an update for the Tone Master. The update has more pedals and more amps. i don't have a list of everything that is new. It also allows you to back up patches to the built-in micro SD card slot. I have not downloaded it yet, but I am getting ready to install the upgrade soon.
If I want to use my Tonex pedal as my amp, and the tone master pro as my pedalboard, what is the best way to connect the Tonex? Can I make presets for this as well?
The best way to use the Tonex with the Fender Tone Master Pro is to use the effects loop on the back of the Fender Tone Master Pro. You have 4 mono effects loops that are simply called loops. Loop 3 and 4 can be used as stereo. I would try using it stereo first. If you can't get that to work, then try mono. Yes, you can make your own presets for this, and you can even insert the Tonex amp and cab anywhere you want in the signal chain. I think the cool thing is to try and use the Tonex amp with the Fender cabs. Or the Fender amps with the Tonex Cabs. Combine them and see what you get. The interesting thing to do would be to make special presets on the Tonex that would blend with the presets you are making on the Tone Master. Then use midi to sync the two presets together. This is a great idea, and I don't know why I did not think of it. Thank you for this idea, and now I think I have a topic for my next video. Let's see if we can get this to work as one cohesive unit.
This was super helpful. Loved the video. More on the looper would be great. Saving and recalling loops for example. Love to get into acoustic amp settings and maybe blending an acoustic loop with an electric lead.
There are features in the Fender Tone Master that the Helix does not have. The HX is a good pedal and a cheaper option no doubt, but the Fender has more processing power under the hood and some features I really like. I like the amp models in the Fender better than the HX, but that is a matter of personal preference. I just like the way the fender pedal is laid out and after playing through both units I chose to go with the Fender. Again, it is more a matter of personal preference, not because I think one is better than the other.
Typically you have to turn off any amp/cab presets if you plan on using an external amp. Then you are basically just using this for stomp boxes/effects. Then you’d either go directly into the amp’s input, its effects loop, or the 4 cable method depending on what you are trying to do. Don’t try to send an amp model into the front of another amp. Won’t sound good.

yes, that is a very handy feature

WoW!!! What a great intro to this great gear!!! Thanks a lot. I admire your precision
Very informative….can you use a midi pedal to control presets ?
Great video! I appreciate you doing a “How To” tutorial. Thank you!
Excellent video! I just received my TMP today and found this video to be very useful.
Thank you...very informative and helpful overview....Good job.

What chords you’re playing for the loop?!
BTW - Are you aware if the Line 6 HX One can perform the same function? Cheaper option :)🎸

How do you use it with a guitar amp?
Check out Pete Thorn on that.
does anybody know if this works on a Mustang lt25?
