      I agree! When you're jamming at home that low end chug makes the tone sound full, but in a live band situation the guitar is supposed to be in that mid range area... I run the sound in my band & I've actually had a few pro sound engineers come up and tell me how good the mix is and how clear everything is.... it's tuff love but each musician in the band needs to stay in their lane and know their role

    I was just trying to figure out how to re-amp. The best part of this when recording into your DAW, you don't have the tone "imprinted". Meaning, you can change settings on the rig after you record your guitar parts.

    • @damionandy
      @damionandy  Місяць тому +1

      Haha yeah man. I haven’t used it much for reamping, but I tend to record the dry signal, too. I still love some of those NeuralDSP reverb pedals. I also use automation within my DAW, which opens you up to another kind can of worms. Which amps are you using the most on the TMP?

      @@damionandy Dude, this thing is amazing. I have a CCR amp, a "Eugene's Trick Bag" amp, a parallel processing amp, I just got done messing the Orange amp, I have a SRV tone.
      You name it, you can pretty much copy any tone you want it's amazing. As far as a favorite amp goes, I don't know mostly just been tone copy pasta for me. But I have a "Orange Heavens" preset that kind of blows my mind. Tangerine Head with an IR I got from SweetWater when I bought the thing.

    btw nice statement love your mids. but you have to be careful. mids are a very populated area in music. so you have to choose carefully which mids to boost, since there might be a singer and a keyboarder and another guitarist. Best thing you can do, is to "tune" the whole bandsound together, so you can avoid "mid wars" between the keys hornsection and the aretha franklin vocalist choir and the organ doubling the second guitar. if you know what i mean. In most videos i see concerning guitarsound, there is allways the argument with "play in the mix" but seldomly there is advice about how to important it is, not only to get "your mids" right, but that the whole band gets their own little "midspot" to chill. the teamwork of the whole band is the key, no guitar riff can shine, no matter how many mids are involved, if the synth guy shits the hell of a wall of a sound occupying every bit of the soundspectrum. i amm so often surprised how effective it is to lower e.g. the keyboard mids in a certain spot, instead of boosting the vocals and or the guitar what ever.

    • @damionandy
      @damionandy  3 дні тому

      My comments are mostly coming from a traditional band setting, but you’re right. In these videos, I’m not covering mixing all together. My aim is to raise awareness of the mix as a whole. It’s really easy to be bass heavy on modelers, from my experience, so I’m just trying to help haha

    Out of curiosity, if volume is an issue, why don’t you use the Helix or a different make?

    • @damionandy
      @damionandy  Місяць тому +1

      Because it’s mostly a minor inconvenience, not an actual problem. I just hope if enough people mention it, Fender will address it. With the volume issue, it is still the most fun to use and best sounding modeler for me. I own the AxeFx3 and haven’t turned it on since I got the TMP
