Hey Doug, Love your vids, I'm waiting on my Mission Engineering SP1-TMP Tone Master Pro Expression Pedal to arrive and have a? You mentioned that you can use the SP1 for volume first in the chain like useing your guitar volume or at the end of the chain to adjust amp volume, Can you put a volume first in the chain and use the toe switch and end of chain on the same preset if needed especially for a live situation.

I have a question about monitoring the guitar through the tonemaster headphone jack when using a daw. I currently have a focusrite audio interface and I use cubase 12. All my effects are coming from Bais FX2 as a VST plugin in cubase. If I eliminate using the focusrite and Bias fx2, and only use the tonemaster as my audio interface and effects, how will that impact my monitoring inside the daw? Will I hear the same audio the daw is recording, or only what is coming from the tonemaster such as you would if not using a daw with headphones plugged in? In other words, will the volume level I hear in the headphones of myself while playing, be the same when I play back the track? With the focusrite I can switch from direct monitoring of the guitar to the daw's output. I'm hoping it works the same way with the tonemaster. Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Hey Doug. Thanks for all the good TMP videos. They are a big help. I’m not finding a very large or effective TMP community out there yet. I’ve been recording from my TMP to Logic Pro for a couple months and I’m frustrated that the rich and nuanced sound of the guitar and preset is greatly diminished in recording. At least it sounds that way thru my headphones. I’m using the USB cable and my headphones are plugged in to my TMP with Logic Pro using TMP for input and output. I have a Scarlett 2i2 but not using it. Output mixers are turned up but the output levels are also a little weak. Recorded signal is adequate. I want to test the recording in the car and see if the richness is there. Maybe it’s an issue with the headphone signal going back thru the TMP. Any thoughts? Thx in advance. Sorry if this is wrong way to ask - not sure what’s best for a UA-cam channel.

I have a midi expression pedal that I plug into my pc and use it to control plugins like Bias FX2 and Amplitude. Would it be possible to control the virtual volume and wah pedal via midi the same way with the Tone Master Pro? I know you can buy a TRS cable expression pedal that works, but I already own the midi version. Great channel. I'm considering the Fender Tone Master Pro and I've already watched a bunch or your videos on it. Thanks.

Hi Doug ! You're a boss to mimic pedals ! I have a request (maybe 2) : I have a boss SY-200 and a Line6 HX One in the fx loop at home but I don't want to bring them with me on live and rehearsal. I'm trying to do synth and pad sounds as on my SY and a talkbox effect (for bon jovi titles) as on my hx one or my ex GT-1000 with the humanize effect. Could you help me ?

Thanks for making these videos! Its been very helpful in my rewearch of the TMP. One thing I've been having trouble finding information on is the Digitech Drop Detune on the unit. I was wondering if you could take a look at it? Can it be used similarly to the virtualcapo/polycapo of other units?

I’m not using IRs, but I have my TMP going into the return of my real amp head connected to a real cab. I’ve been using presets successfully by turning off the cabs in the presets to avoid double cabbing. So far it sounds great. However, maybe I should be using these SICs behind the amp in the signal chain? Logic would seem to dictate that the TMP would have no clue what my real amp and cab are and so I should use a SIC in my signal chain. Do you agree? Thanks!

this is what i am looking for . When I hit my solo patch , I can bring a signal in from the bass , octave up with a little rhythm tone to help keep energy in my 1 guitar band. So there is bass and some 'guitar' behind the solo

Hello Doug. Thanks for all yours videos, Is it possible to record the guitar (on one track) and the vocals on another track in Logic at the same time? How should the TMP and Logic be configured? I have tried it but it records on a single stereo track. The guitar on the right side and the vocals on the right side. In another test, vocals and guitar were recorded on each of the bands. Can you make a video about it? Thank you very much!!

Doug is it possible to use the TMP as an IR loader from a tube amp -> load box amp in -> load box DI line out-> TMP (IR section only) ? You would use XLR balanced line out from load box to TMP Mic/Line IN for this right ? (supplying phantom power to load box XLR)

I saved my presets on an SD card. But how do I get these presets back on the device? When I click on "restore presets from SD card" in the settings, I get an empty display with no options....and nothing changes I can see on the computer that a .tmp file is present. Even after several attempts, I can't get the file back onto the device. My firmware is 1.3.89

Hallo Doug, question. When I use switchlink, great feature, say chorus, solo 1 and solo 2. Is it possible that the switch stays on when I by mistake hit the switch twice. For example: I play solo 1 and want to go to solo 2 and by mistake I hit solo 1 That sets the effects choosen in the switchlink off I prefer they stay on. Theo from Holland.

Refresh amp block for presets where the amp sound is off after updating or can I just restore that preset from a backup and will the amp block in the restored preset have the new features/updates? Thank you.

Thanks Doug. I was just about installing my Mimiq in form of a efx loop as you did in your first example. I just wondered that when you compared both settings the efx loop was not ‚lighten‘ up: was it desengaged? Sorry for this maybe very dumb question of a newbee!

Exactly what I was waiting for! I downloaded your preset and added a Tube Bias Tremelo next to the royal tone to get the “Hold on John” 🍪 sound. It would be great if Fender added the actual ADT effect but this gets the job done. Now I need to figure it out on vocal chain! Thanks Doug!

Do I have to use the USB to re-amp? Can I not just create an external FX or external instruments track on Cubase, then run a loop out of my interface into my TMP? Much like, compressing a signal using outboard gear?

I had a Kemper for about 8 years. It was cool when it came out but really wasn't what I ultimately wanted. After the first year or so I wasn't liking it much. I recently traded it for a new PRS guitar and bought the AXE FX3 Turbo. I have had it a couple months. This channel helped me get some basics down. Thanks. Awesome modeler but it is just too much. I knew better but spent over $3200 on it and the pedal. I don't need a fraction of a fraction of what it can do. I really hate having to use a PC with everything too. Sure, you can do it directly on the AXE but way too much a pain in the ass. Just too much work when I really just want to play. I just ordered the TMP. It will be here in 2 days. I think it might be the right fit. I am more a visual and hands on person. The TMP is probably as close as you can get digitally. If it works for me, I need to get as much money back as I can for the Fractal setup.

I'm astonished that the TMP doesn't have any delays that are shorter than 30 ms. 35 ms is longer than what has been famously used over the past 50 to 60 years. Not that some doubling delays aren't longer than 30 ms. 6 to 18 ms is the most commonly used doubling delay time spread. I didthe exact same thing to try and copy what Neural DSP has done withe their amazing doubler effect. The TMP simply needs shorter delay times. Good job.

They replied in a day saying they don’t have it yet so it sounds like it’s in the works 🎸🎸🎸 The double tracking gives a beautiful effect and not giving a sort of digital sound from a chorus 🎸🎸🎸 It will be a great addition to the Tone Master Pro especially for the many of us going into 2 amps or FR’s 🎸🎸🎸 Thanks again 🙏🏻🎸🎶

Hearing The Call was cool but for a moment I thought you were going to break into Hot Blooded.

I think the stereo image was too wide in the DB mimic which makes it sound unnatural. A possible fix could be if the channels would bleed a bit to each other.

I'm a big user of the MIMIQ pedal, I've stopped double tracking guitars on my last two albums since I got the pedal. I think you made a very good job. The only thing I would be missing is the "Dubs" switch, I dial it at 2 and it gives a quad tracking feel and it sounds massive for what I do (death metal).
