I do study the bible and believe in the LORD and Saviour of Isaiah 9:6 and 43:11 which explicitly frames Christ the Son as being not coequal but the same as the Father: ONE - which does not describe unison of two seperate Persons but rather actual "sameness" if you take the word for its Hebrew and Greek direct and even implicit meaning. So I can somewhat feel the aversion of the Witchhunter General against both Witches and roman catholics as I myself am also strongly opposed to many modern views christianity and most societies hold. Biden at the end was Gold.

And he made no mention to any kind of sex change or gender identity matters, so I'm not sure where the transphobic accusation comes from either. The genius of the Witchfinder General is that he is neither ignorant nor superstitious. He like most learned men of his generation legitimately believed witchcraft to be a real and present danger to his community and moved accordingly.

We should indeed carefully examine our moral and social judgments, with the same diligence as we apply to analyse questions of science. Philosophers struggle to find some objective morlity since generations and I feel free to say, that we likely won't find them.

He could be a quite caring and compassionate man. One contemporary who knew him personally said he had the sweet compassion of a women. He was also known to be extremely kind to English Catholics he knew.

I love the lore that super religious types created behind demons.
I mean, demons have different species, different goals, spells, and all kinds of shit.
Honestly, I’d love to see a fantasy movie or TV show that is set in medieval times, in a world where Catholic cosmology and spiritualism is basically real. So you’d see archangels battling demons all the time, while people pray to saints, and the wrath of God occasionally comes down to burn cities. Shit like that would be awesome to see in like an Amazon series or something.

You could do that just by showing the spiritual side of the people who lived in Early Modern/Late Medieval times. Most people in Europe would have treated archangels, demons, witches and the like not as some supernatural secret world but as a simple fact of daily life, although many would have been ignorant to the specifics. Queen Elizabeth's spymaster, John Dee, beiieved he could communicate with angels and demons in the Enochian tongue, which was essentially a conlang his con man friend made up. James I wrote about demons as if they were just another topic of discussion like tobacco, sports, and politics. A lot of shows portray medieval people as being essentially atheist, which wasn't the case at all.
Imagine having a show set in the reformation, where a character is interested not only in the politics of the era but also the fate of their soul.
That sounds like a good video game.

Every time I have to read something in Early Modern English, I read it in this voice, I can't help myself.
All I want for Christmas is to see TWFG sucked onto the 3rd century to the council of Nicaea, mistaken for Arius despite his best protest (I suppose he'd need the gift of tongues to speak Greek), be ecstatic over meeting St. Nicholas and promptly shamed by being slapped by a man he looks up to for his own 'eresy.
I suspect TWFG would find the Christian faith as practiced at time of Nicea utterly unrecognizable and incompatible with the true puritan faith, corrupted as the early church was by papist heresies. No doubt he would deem the entire lot of bishops, Nicholas of Myra included, as wretched sinners, utterly unworthy of God's love (and so on and so on).
