I am a South Carolina lawyer and i have appeared before this Judge many times, including in murder trials. He is exactly this calm, respectful and grounded in person, not just for cameras and high profile cases. We are fortunate to have him, and his daughter, on the bench. Judge Newman is a class act.

      THE JUDGE made the theater!!!
Temporized the facts, when you know it was RACIAL HATE CRIME!!!
We constantly see crimes involving BLACK MEN IN THE USA killing and/or raping WHITE WOMEN IN THE USA!!!
This common form of action leads everyone to think that BLACK MEN IN THE USA want to target WHITE MEN IN THE USA out of HATE AND ENVY!!!
If UA-cam considers that telling the truth is a CRIME OF BULLYING or VIRTUAL HARASSMENT!!!
So, why are such crimes commonplace???

From the moment I heard of the murder of 21 year old Samantha Josephson my heart broke. My daughter is the same age and I can't even fathom to imagine the excruciating trauma, pain and suffering this young woman had to endure at the hands of this monster. I respect and commend Judge Newman for the way he honestly and candidly spoke to the accused during his sentencing. When asked if he had any words, Mr. Rowland had the opportunity to come clean yet he arrogantly and pridefully tried to justify himself. The diachotomy of good vrs. evil. In the end justice prevailed. It's not over for Mr. Rowland....for the est of his living days he will be caged and will have to face evil head on and hopefully this once 'good' child will evolve into a 'good' man and ask God and Samatha's family for forgiveness.
To the Josephson family, the spirit of your beautiful daughter will live on. She will never be forgotten!! ❤
    Dear Heavenly Father,

We constantly see crimes involving BLACK MEN IN THE USA killing and/or raping WHITE WOMEN IN THE USA!!!
Rarely, if you hear say otherwise!!!
      You can investigate!!!
      WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE!!!
WHO SPEAKS THE TRUTH YOU MUST BE PUNISHED BY UA-cam, or, THE TRUTH IS NOTHING MORE THAT THE TRUTH UNTIL THE OTHERWISE IS PROVEN!!!
      You can investigate!!!
If the killer were subjected to the TRUTH SERUM or POLYGRAPH TEST!!!
He would end up confessing that the crime was committed out of RACIAL HATE!!!
TODAY UA-cam CONDEMNES ME, DELETING MY COMMENTS, THREATENING MY PLAYFUL CHANNEL, TOMORROW SOMEONE WILL MAKE A FILM TELLING THE TRUE VERSION OF THE FACTS FOLLOWING MY REASONING!!!

@AJ ? Actually, I would be glad to have my son judged by this judge bc he seems fair, honest, measured with a level temperament and treats even people who he feels that are guilty of murder with respect. He is a good man. That is the problem with America right now. Parents are not teaching their kids right from wrong and to take responsibility for their actions. Also, murder is wrong. It makes no difference if it's my child that did it!? It still would be wrong and need to be punished! There should not be two sets of rules. There can't be because once you start making exceptions for one person than all law and order breaks down. Everyone must be treated EQUALLY

Stop playing the damn race card and hold people responsible for their actions regardless of their color! If he let him off because he was BLACK that would be RACIST! If he was White and got off that would be RACIST! THE Point is he did his job fairly without bias of skin color!! As soon as people stop your type of thinking racism will end. You are reverse racist. It's the same mentality as "BTV", or. Black History Month or BLACK LIVES MATTER! ALL RACIST! ALL MEANT TO CONTINUE TO SEGREGATE BLACK PEOPLE WITHOUT THEM KNOWING IT AND STOKE DIVISION AND ANGER BETWEEN RACES! The sooner people realize this the sooner black people will no longer be used as pawns as political tools. MLK was NOT for pitting races against each other and the idea of blacks conquering whites. Lawyers almost always know when their client is guilty, and that is in the large majority of actual trials.
Lawyers should not and rarely do feel guilty for skillfully representing a guilty client. That is their job and they are doing it for you, not for the guilty. What I mean by that is that is that you might be falsely accused one day. If that happens, your lawyer will do her or his best to defend you rather than judging you before the jury does. Skilled defense lawyers help ensure that justice is done. When the accused is zealously defended but still found guilty, we can have a high degree of confidence in that verdict. In fact, when innocent people are wrongly convicted it is almost always due to inept defense lawyers.

The amount of times he stabbed his victim just proves the level of evil in him. He, like all of those other vicious murdering scum he will join in prison will answer to God. We all have to answer to God for our sins but I'd hate to have to Face him after murdering somebody in such a vicious way like this POS did. Lets see him stand before almighty God and say he didn't do it. But at least the family of that poor girl now know that he will die in prison. There is no peace or solitude in any prison, no place to get away from all the noise of screaming inmates, banging of doors and living alongside the scum of the earth every single day for the rest of his life and never knowing peace ever again. He destroyed a life and his victims families life, but he has also destroyed his own life.

This was an incredibly mesmerizing talk from the Judge. So heart felt & wise. I had never realized that commonly, criminals are unable to go back & relive their horrible actions. That must mean on some level they acknowledge the harm they've done.
