I actually went to her funeral as they were somewhat professional acquaintances of the family. Mark made a brief, odd excuse as to why he wouldn’t be speaking, and looking back, it’s insane to think both of the people responsible for her murder (him and the hitman) were present for her funeral.
Actually, I DON'T think it is an insane idea on the behalf of the defendants at all. It just goes to prove how sane they really are, by attending the funeral and trying to further their appearance of innocence. An insane person would do no such thing.
He understood it. And as much as people are seeing him as "not caring" about the verdict - that's wrong. As soon as the jury came into the room to read their verdict, he is clearly freaking out inside. You can see when his stomach dropped. Not sure how other's can't. Maybe they're not in tune with day to day human interactions.
Yea it was so obvious. He was even outright talking to himself in between. And before hearing the first verdict, he looked like he had so much hope in his eyes and seemed disappointed when it read guilty. People don't know how to read peoples' subtle emotions these days because they're too busy staring at their phones and only interacting with people online.
That's what I would think. I bet if he knew he'd be sitting there right now bored at hearing this drivel, he'd have shot himself before he got caught. He will probably die of perpetual boredom.
It is amazing how I come to realize that someone like Mark Sievers is from a completely different planet than I happen to be. I absolutely love and adore my wife. Different states will give different punishments within the confines of their own laws. Some have rather limited punishments, which means we end up with pathetic sentences despite the severity of their crimes. It's also up to the individual judge, unless jury is present, I believe, has to review the case and decide a suitable punishment based on the evidence and on who the person is, their mental health and their history, if they feel they can and will be able to be rehabilitated. Some judges will give a fitting punishment.. But not enough. The justice system is fucking broken. They need to rebuild and reform it. Try and fix certain pieces..

... she is... kind of...bureaucracy... i get the feeling, presuming the death penalty is still around in 100 years, they'll be reading 1000 pages of that shit before reading the verdict. :-]
@JusticeAA Actually, I do, and I've never heard one read like that. The verdict forms containing the multiple-choice format do not usually actually get read out like that. They're for the use of the jury, but are not meant to be read when reading out the verdict. It makes no sense to do it like that, and worse, it can confuse some people.
What a ridiculously complex system. I have a lot of legal experience and that completely confused me. How on earth do they expect members of the general public to understand any of that? Wow...!
The general public does not need to understand. Only the jurors tasked with the sentencing. Does the defendant need to understand, yes. That is why he has a lawyer. The general public can take their time to understand at their own pace. If they still do not understand, what can I say? This case is not pertinent to them. Only the involved parties. This is not a TV show that needs to make viewers understand.
@@pangkaji What a completely stupid reply. The basis of any Common Law is that everyone can and should be able to understand the procedure. In England, since 1215 (Magna Carta) English law must be in a form that's able to be understood by every citizen. Yes, there will always be a few who are perhaps not able to follow procedure. But the vast majority are able to follow Court Procedure without difficulty. I'm afraid the American Legal System is a complete nonsense...
@@viktorszucs4181 Yes, unfortunately it seems that the legal system in the States is designed more as a "reality TV show" rather than a serious Court Of Law. Everyone ought to be able to understand what is actually going on. This completely lost me and I have a vast amount of experience within the British Legal System.
I noticed that he was quietly making remarks . For something like this, done by an entity like that, it was a pleasure to watch him squirm. He’s a stone cold killer, who thinks that he was going to get away with this. He was being held accountable for what he did, with every word. All his little head movements, underneath, for him, that’s equivalent to jumping up and down, screaming and calling them all out. People like that need a guilty/death penalty verdict.
This is actually a very short verdict reading. My mom is an attorney and I’m taking law enforcement classes and we’ve had to watch start-to-finish court trials. Sometimes we watch them over the course of a week to two weeks.
My friend was brutally murdered. Her family didn’t seek the death penalty because they are good people and couldn’t live with it. I don’t think I would feel the same if it was my daughter but I always admired their goodness and mercy. No judgment against this family though. I would probably want the same. It’s justice.
Death penalty is legit, sick of people fighting it. People are released from prison and kill again!!! THAT should weigh on peoples conscious not the virtue signaling passed off as moral superiority! No apologies.
Why he is so bothered about death penalty is laughable. He sentenced his wife to death by having two men break into her house and bash her to death with a hammer!! She even asked them - why are you doing this!!??
Since Jeffry is bad at getting his point across, there are many inefficiencies in court proceedings however they almost always have a basis in liability, transparency, things like that, and they would usually need to be fixed by politicians which is always a pain in the ass.
My wife has end state renal failure and has been in and out of the hospital more times than I can recollect. Each time it was very close I authorized the use of heroic measures to keep her alive. I don't even buy that cheap burial insurance because the idea of profiting off of someone's death is abhorrent to me.

AND SKY TV.. feel so sorry for this man
And it's a murder trial where all evidence has to be clear and for his appeals to have no loopholes because of the judges ruling there killing someone and they want it to be clear to all that it's done in a fair and unbiased way
@@agfd5659 of course that’s what it actually is but it’s fun to think that it’s so the person has to hear half the alphabet as bullet points as to why he should die so it makes it worse for them.

He understood it. And as much as people are seeing him as "not caring" about the verdict - that's wrong.
