Should mention, there's an infinite demon mode "combo," where you basically use circle>triangle>triangle for mobility, and essentially just use your dash to extend your basic combos (never using Demon Dance) so that you can stay in demon mode and keep attacking even when you're all out of stamina. Speedrunners using DBs tend to enter demon mode at the very beginning of a fight and only leave it once or twice during the entire battle. Managing this combo is what makes DBs go from a low difficulty weapon to a much higher damage/high skillcap wep
i remember when dash juice used to 100% negate stamina depletion 😢 i was looking for how to craft mega dash juice for a long time. then i realized it's just like the wiggly insect. sucks. one of the strats of previous games was to stack up on mega dash juice, which stops stamina consumption entirely for about 5 minutes and from there, you have unlimited demon mode. or atleast until you're hit out of it.
NGOtaku Lol Ah good old Mh 3u and older days... Remember Mega dash juice when using Brachydios Dual blades.... Good times... Too bad the blast replacements for slime weapons no where as good as it was back then
tbh it would be boring if every game was made with the same exact items and stats everytime around, so yeah I miss it too but hey, new game, new world, new rulez
in my case i switched to DB from SNS because even though SNS has good mobility and survivability, hunts took too long because of the rather low dps output, once i switched out tho, there was a very significant amount of time shaved off to the hunts
Also, that 'O' spinning attack in Demonmode can be used towards vines/mushrooms for the aerial spinning attack. Found that out when testing DB's vs Paolumu (who's "nest" has mushrooms all around it). So good :)
This guide helped me out greatly! Recently picked up MHW, and it's an amazing game, just haven't found a weapon that REALLY clicked with me. I've tried pretty much all of them, and because of the, at times, clunkier movement in the game, i always felt off. The one i felt the most fun with though, was Dual Blades. I'm just new enough at the game to not know half the things in this video, so thanks a lot!
Pro-tip, max out your coral horn on your palico will allow him to play the stamina cost reduction song for you when you Dual blade. If you are super late into the game, handicraft + Sharpness protection (gems) are godly for dual blade, you even if you have a tiny bit of white sharpness, the skill will prevent sharpness from depleting after you sharpen it, allowing you stay in white doesnt matter how much you hit for a full minute. If you play blast element dual blade, try out the apothecary mantle and bombardier skills.
Also, the telo set is great for keeping your weapons sharp while comboing a 2peice from another set with 3/3 weakness policy means I almost never have to sharpen Fire and Ice.
With dual blades you can also do circle, triangle, triangle, (repeat) to perform an endless* combo (barring stamina consumption). It’s also effective in demon mode to use the circle attack vs dodging as you travel further and use less stamina than a dodge/lunge move
One quick Tip: you can keep going in demon mode when you run out of stamina by chaining attacks to an Infinite combo only reposiotioning via O-button. So triple/dual triangle, O, Triple/dual triangle, O and so on.
How did you get such a great screenshot of your character? It looks awesome in the thumbnail! Also, the val hazak set looks really good on the female hunter
Whenever I go DB, I usually have max Marathon Runner and go ham in Demon Mode. If I can fit it in, Evade Extender and Constitution too, because that far dash can really get you out of harm's way as well as help you stick to more mobile targets. They are so fun when you play them reactively and it is such a glorious thing to see when you do a Heavenly Blade Dance down the entire length of Safi.
I remember all the way back when I was using dual blades in freedom unite. They’ve come a long way for sure. There’s a set I like to use with the Teostra/Kushala dual blades that combines the Rathalos/Zorah sets to make a element crit/status crit combo with weakness exploit. So if you have the affinity booster it’s a good way to shell out damage on weak points
Positioning is key, meaning watch your teammates!!! I can't tell you how many hammer combos and Greatsword charges I've been knocked out of because some random kid won't pick a different bit of monster to destroy. If you have little SLICING weapons, leave the head for us hammer wielders please
SOCIO I've been playing since freedom unite, and I've never had problems with anyone, until world came out, and as many know, this is a lot of people's first MH game so there are a lot of people who are just trying to do the most damage, with no regard to their teammates, I'm not calling out all dualblade users just the new or inexperienced
SOCIO I'm just going off of my experience in world with DB's and the stagger is real, so didn't mean to shame a weapon choice, just thought I'd say something to anyone new
TheSlashmaster101 I beat the game in 1 week and used the morph axe then I switched to insect glaive for about a week, I then switched to bow used that for almost everything that I didn't do while playing the quests I didn't do, but after about 2 weeks with the bow a lot of my friends used dual blades so I felt like using them and they instantly turned to a favorite (dual blades) instantly. but every day I run into players with the longsword morph axe or greatsword and they mess my combos up, but there comes some good from it like when they fling you up you can mount the monster or ride threw the monsters back like a beyblade lmao.
I insta kick dual bladers if they interrupt me. Fucken sick of it. I have never experienced so much god damn frustration from a weapon before until MHW. I have been killed by an idiot in his demon combo so many times because they have zero situational awareness. If you see someone attacking an area, go someplace else, like the tail and cut it off. Guarantee those tiny blades are not putting out more damage than the heavy weapons on a toppled monster.
You can also initiate the air spinning move, taking you down the monster's back, by running up to a wall and pressing X (which makes you run up and jump off it) then triangle afterward to trigger the attack. And of course you have to be in demon mode for this to work.
I've only played MHFU and P3rd because of money problems, but man. MH has come a long way. Every weapon is so fluid that it's really fun to use no matter how new can one be on a particular weapon.
Did you know that if you spam side step triangle in demon mode you dont need more stamina to maintain demon mode (Reaching 0 stamina wont cancel demon mode)
Teera Pong I can’t really understand what you just said but if what you mean is that when you’re doing the demon flurry combo and stamina runs out, it still continues then yh you’re right. But then immediately after the combo ends. Demon mode ends
NGOtaku well I might be wrong here but without the demonflurry then any of the others button spamming that dont have the finisher will continue the demon mode
One thing I've noticed is even if my stamina is depleted I can stay in Demon and Archedemon mode just by pressing the attack buttons. I tore a Tobi-Kadachi to pieces with that.
You should make a video on "mounting Monsters". How to mount them reliably, which weapons are best for it, and what to do once mounted for good damage.
IG's are really made for that. The others its ugh up in the air and with DB if you're trying to mount the monster you might as well use your midair combo to go up one side of the monster and down the other. Hell I specifically will engage monsters on slopes just to abuse the mid-air attack since it is honestly the most damage you will do and then work him back to slope/ledge for the next round.
As long as theres a slope hammer is second only to the glaive. Each individual midair attack has a chance to mount and the midair combo itself does stupid damage
I don't really use dash juice because if u really know the monster and have a big enough opening u can keep demon mode going as long as ur still in a combo it wont force u out until its done as for running out of stamina when i get forced out of demon mode i spin dash away then you just did in and out of demon mode to top off the bar every once and a while i don't know if this helps i hope it does
I tried DB but I felt like I was overkilling every monster while actually doing nothing except spamming the circle attack and the demon flurry. DB don't have real combos, it's just a button smashing except for the demon flurry where you press two buttons and you enjoy the show. Even while doing all those flashy moves I didn't felt like I was doing something hard to perform. DB for me are the easiest weapon to learn and to master and the most simple weapon in the game.
@Lorenzo Vanzolini - I understand where you’re coming from. I enjoy the more complex weapons, which is why I main charge blade. The weapons that don’t have intricate button combos get boring very quickly for me because the same attack animations and minimal effort to pull off certain attacks doesn’t feel very rewarding. I love all of the weapons in this game but some of them aren’t very complex to use.
If you dodge at the right time in demon mode, you can actually dodge through monster attack. This move work on previous series. Because they didn't have crazy manuaver agility like this.
I think this weapon would be pretty good if u had a decently high affinity, I love my charge blade and insect glaive and pretty soon I'm gonna learn the bow and DBs I wanna see which one deals the most DPS I know they did a DPS test for The beta and the charge blade was the best but a lot of stuff has changed since then
Honestly get 3/3 weakness policy and you are laughing. At that point, more affinity is really running headfirst into diminishing returns. Which with 3 piece Telo set results in my blades almost never dull. Then I use 2 piece Rathaolos for updding my elemental damage on crits.
BBKDRAGOON I love them both but if probably lean more over to the Long Sword. It mainly varies on what the other people are using to not stack the same weapon
Roger that, I started mhw using longsword all the way until pretty deep into High Rank, its an awesome weapon, I want the final nergigante tree upgrade, that one is amazing
I'm not sure how it stacks numbers wise, I've seen some strong japanese players using it, but I really like it just cause its big. I'm a simple man when it comes to my weapons, the bigger looking the happier I am as a player
The Glaive is fairly useful especially for Aerial Happy dragons like Rathian or Polomu who I call Furry Mutant Batman. When Combined with Kinsect the Target Buffs. Especially with Puki_Puki poison spits
The glaive is alot about Positioning in the air. The Kinsect is "Crucial" depending on where you send it. You can hit a monster and give a damage buff a movement speed buff a defensive and possibly slight Heal when it's called back and it Stays for close to 45 or a minute. My Friend Chris Taught me. And now avoiding Puku_Puki Poison is a TIME SAVER
I’m a little upset about Dash Juice no longer completely negating Stamina use... hoping I can find a good set that can help manage demon mode but still improve damage output.
I used to main charge blade but I switched to DB. I felt bad at first because it's such a easy weapon and I felt noobish using it but it's too much fun to put down.
I’d argue these are NOT weapons that new-to-the-game players should be using. If you’ve never played a Monster Hunter game before and World is your first, do not use the Dual Blades as your first weapon choice. The only thing these weapons will teach you early on is how to do nothing except run up to the monster’s face and mash buttons until you or the monster dies. I’m not saying these are bad weapons or that they take a lot of skill to use, but they are very forgiving in terms of being able to deal damage without needing to consider positioning and only when you start to hit a wall of constantly carting will you start to realize how little you know about the monsters you’re fighting
Get Earplugs ASAP and this game will be 50% easier, for the monsters without roar, get Evade window instead. Every weapon type is awesome. DB was fun for sleep/stun lock on apex monsters in mh4u.
False. The second half of demon dance are lighter hits and can bounce off of hard spots. So there is a second way to stop it early but like getting hit. It's not by your choice.
BBKDRAGOON I quite enjoy it and I started with bow. I’m not even done the story yet and I can kill or capture a great Jagras in about 15 minutes. Some ammo types can even rapid-fire three shots at a time for every 1 ammo expended; the special ammo called Wyvernblast is a “blast” lol. You plant 1 to 3 mine like objects that explode when anyone attacks over them. Monster attacks damage the monsters and ally attacks slightly pushes back the ally. You can even get ammo that can heal another hunter, or apply armor skin or demon drug.
That sounds awesome! I"ll have to check it out, thanks for the recommendation. I haven't done much with ranged weapons in this game yet so sounds like a lot to learn.
Dual Blades are pretty good for Kirin. The flexibility and speed of them allows you to dash in, get a few hits and get out without putting yourself in much danger. Just don't overextend yourself and you should be fine.
Honestly, I have barely played in two weeks and took down tempered Kirin with my Fire and Ice blades on the 4th life. The key is not to use triangle circle and go in for chip damage.
Honestly, with Kirin it is best to skip that. For Kirin only using 3 triangles and cycle for closing that is it. Since he is so damn small. Using the big combo is a pain to land unless he is down or you risk getting shocked. Also doing the mid-air combo is almost impossible on Kirin (again size). So I found it was just better to weave in and out and get chip damage on him. Hell, I was almost tempted to dust off my poison set and go for that.
i think LS really outplayed DS in this game, LS is much faster when it comes to raw damage and you can dodge really lot of anticipated attack than DS that you just dodge and luck.
the only weapon in the game that I don't feel.. using truly... I mean... the combos are OP also damage well only if you are in good position cuz if not... Monsters gonna rekt you completely also dual blades sucks against mobs which almost never lands.. cuz you can't reach e'm and deal dmg
My man! Dual blades are boss hog!
Thanks for another great video
Thank you! and they are super fun
Can you please do the switch axe? Just started using it and by far my favorite so far...
Should mention, there's an infinite demon mode "combo," where you basically use circle>triangle>triangle for mobility, and essentially just use your dash to extend your basic combos (never using Demon Dance) so that you can stay in demon mode and keep attacking even when you're all out of stamina. Justin Schuster sounds interesting
I accidentally crafted a switch axe and am now soloing nergegante without much of a problem
i remember when dash juice used to 100% negate stamina depletion
😢 i was looking for how to craft mega dash juice for a long time. then i realized it's just like the wiggly insect. sucks.

NGOtaku wow not op at all not op AT ALL
tbh it would be boring if every game was made with the same exact items and stats everytime around, so yeah I miss it too but hey, new game, new world, new rulez
Yeah, the wanted it too so I could go full demon mode, or just continuously stay in the air with ig
Why you should use Dual Blades: Because you haven't tried Hammer yet and can't figure out Hunting Horn.
KindredEmotions Wat?
I agree
in my case i switched to DB from SNS because even though SNS has good mobility and survivability, hunts took too long because of the rather low dps output, once i switched out tho, there was a very significant amount of time shaved off to the hunts
lmao ima add a set as my sever weapon but ive been using the hammer too... the ko's are just so good
Sightless hunting horn brethen right here what up fam
That tiny health bar actually made a tear fall out of my eye
Also, that 'O' spinning attack in Demonmode can be used towards vines/mushrooms for the aerial spinning attack. Found that out when testing DB's vs Paolumu (who's "nest" has mushrooms all around it). So good :)
Nice break down on dual blades bro.. Short and straight to the point.got my sub. Keep it up
This confirms I’ve been using them correctly. Cudos my friend
Awesome videos and amazing content, I've learned so much from these. Great job sir!

Charge blade for life!
Дима Кварков charge blade is boss
Blue Fox Games charge blade ? More like HARD blade .. pff
4:02 and captain levi will be proud of you :P
That sliding attack is..
Capt Levi Spinning Slash
Nice job on the dual blade tips! Could you do the insect glaive next?

This is my armor choice too. I like both the a and b sets.
What armor is his character wearing?
The Val Hazaak beta set
BBKDRAGOON thanks. ^~^
anytime, have a great weekend
Best UA-camr for beginners like me
Cool man, how about hammer next?
what armor set would go best with dual blades? something that increase stamina and stamina regen?
I tried DB but I felt like I was overkilling every monster while actually doing nothing except spamming the circle attack and the demon flurry. lorenzo vanzolini you won’t be overkilling monsters if you keep killing aptonoths dude
God Sens I don't even know what an aptonoth is
lorenzo vanzolini LOL
@Lorenzo Vanzolini - I understand where you’re coming from. I enjoy the more complex weapons, which is why I main charge blade. As someone who'll be maining HH on PC release I wouldn't mind seeing your take on them.
Love these videos! Any plans for Switch Axe or Long Sword?
Thanks, and yeah I'm playing with lots of different weapons currently. Which of those two are your favorite?
BBKDRAGOON I love them both but if probably lean more over to the Long Sword. It mainly varies on what the other people are using to not stack the same weapon
Roger that, I started mhw using longsword all the way until pretty deep into High Rank, its an awesome weapon, I want the final nergigante tree upgrade, that one is amazing
BBKDRAGOON I've built Indigo and Holly. I should probably build that too. Is it considered top tier? Numbers wise.
I'm not sure how it stacks numbers wise, I've seen some strong japanese players using it, but I really like it just cause its big. I'm a simple man when it comes to my weapons, the bigger looking the happier I am as a player
I love the dual blades and they're still my main weapon, but sadly there's not much depth in their gameplay
Insect Glaive FTW
Glaive looks awesome, my main hunting partner friend is a glaive main
It is a pretty interesting weapon too, the whole buff aspect of it is really cool.
And now avoiding Puku_Puki Poison is a TIME SAVER
charge blade rules!
i am the only one who yells "Tatsumaki senpuken" when yo do the spin attack in the air with both hammer and dual blade?
you didn't mention the repositioning combos at all
Can someone explain to me how to activate archdemon mode? I can't seem to activate it, even when my demon bar is full.
Bow is like the most op weapon if you know how to use it not only the bow every single weapon is op in the right hands
How do i turn on demon mode on steam/pc ?
Please do bow next! ✌🏾
Charge blade please
Does anyone know if dash juice stacks with marathon runner?
LBG please
Insect glaive please
Good suggestion, I might bring my Australian friend Sassi in for that one since he is a glaive main
Groovi glaive takes skill, nothing like dual blades.
Beat the main story with glaive but now I'm tired of it. It's a cool and fun weapon to use tho.
I’m a little upset about Dash Juice no longer completely negating Stamina use... hoping I can find a good set that can help manage demon mode but still improve damage output.
Do the switch axe, it was the first weapon i master in monster hunter 3U. Its simple yet technical, and brutally powerful.
Insect glaive or switch axe
Any long ranged weapon plz
I used to main charge blade but I switched to DB. I felt bad at first because it's such a easy weapon and I felt noobish using it but it's too much fun to put down.
What armor is that?
THE HAMMER !!
After this video I have been able to circle Nergiganate for almost ever.
3:48 Levi
Pon Pon yes
Pon Pon yeah it is
Do insect Glavie or Buster Sword next
Josh Merrel buster sword?
Do switch axe please
Do the Switch axe please!
Longsword players: ima pretend i didn't see that
What armor set was he using in the training room?
val hazaak beta set
I main DBs and I love how fast i can kill monsters. I also use GS and IG.
Switch Axe please!
As an event quest they should add GoW Blades of Chaos
HAMMER Please
I’d argue these are NOT weapons that new-to-the-game players should be using. Great sword next plz
A goose made of Basil!
I used them in 3u and never stopped using them ever since
That's awesome!
Next video: Why You Should Use Bowgun Melee.
Not sponsored by Team Darkside or CantaPerMe.
I give all the weapons a try because some might surprise you
hey i would a video about longsword
Dual Blades ftw
False. The second half of demon dance are lighter hits and can bounce off of hard spots. So there is a second way to stop it early but like getting hit. It's not by your choice.
Light bowgun please?
I actually haven't tried it yet, not even during the beta. Is it fun?
Best weapon in the game in my opinion
Only thing I refuse to dual blades maybe Kirin XD
Dual Blades are pretty good for Kirin. The flexibility and speed of them allows you to dash in, get a few hits and get out without putting yourself in much danger. Just don't overextend yourself and you should be fine.
Honestly, I have barely played in two weeks and took down tempered Kirin with my Fire and Ice blades on the 4th life. The key is not to use triangle circle and go in for chip damage.
Doom Nova aww the demon dance cost my life a lot of time Its just refuse to stop n let me dodge
With dual blades, YOU are the weapon
I don’t care about the damage output on anything
If I kill it in a cool way and have fun doing it, it’s my weapon
wish someone did this for PC .
i think LS really outplayed DS in this game, LS is much faster when it comes to raw damage and you can dodge really lot of anticipated attack than DS that you just dodge and luck.
Dual Blades - God Of Monsters
A condom ad played before your video and I couldn't skip it
the only weapon in the game that I don't feel.. using truly... I mean... the combos are OP also damage well only if you are in good position cuz if not... Monsters gonna rekt you completely also dual blades sucks against mobs which almost never lands.. cuz you can't reach e'm and deal dmg
Interesting
BBKDRAGOON- 'Dual Blades have one of the absolute coolest areal attacks in the game'

Long sword gang ftw
Insect Glaive! It's great for debuffs and attacking large monsters
Charge blade
Insect glaive has far better flashy moves and crazy mobility.
