bbk this is a very nice video for new players, probably one of the best for monster hunter virgins, but there are a few things I want to talk about :D damage per second is not that important for bow, not like the other weapon. Due to the importance of power coating, damage per shot is more important IMO, and that's why you can barely see any rapid shot main in speed run videos. Also, the skills for different bow playstyles differ from each other, thou constitution and weakness exploit will be the first priority when you're trying to get mixed armor for optimized skills. And the choice of bows will also determine your strategy. For example, you can play crit draw DP with Diablos bow, or you can use legina bow against Diablos/ordogona with power shots. (sorry I don't play English version so correct my spelling if I'm wrong) These are just some broad topics that I think are important for new bow users, and if needed I can go a little bit in depth with them. And if you don't agree with me I'm open to discussion too :D and again, great video, please keep up the good work :)
BBKDRAGOON thank you for commenting back :D as a veteran I'm glad that there are so many new players are enjoying the game, and the content you make really helps new players so much :D
BBKDRAGOON double cross is so much fun with 5 different styles, you can always have fun with some crazy build like aero dual blade or brave CB lol, hope you are having fun with the game :)
Why you should use the bow in Monster Hunter World. The bow features an incredible versatile move set and is the best ranged weapon to learn for new players. Your bow combos are extensive and offer serious damage output. Your bow coatings give you even more opportunities to apply status effects and debuffs to the monsters you are fighting. In this video we'll cover Bow combos, the bread and butter combos that you'll want to use regularly. What are your favorite loadouts so far in Monster Hunter World? Thanks for watching, if you enjoyed please subscribe!
Dude, I can still remember the first time I played with a bow, I wasn't paying attention to the stamina bar and I thought that the shots weren't getting charged because my RT was broken or something
Hahahaha i did the same thing, i thought 'charging is unreliable' and had to train myself to use it once i realised stam was the problem.. also (12 hours deep atm) just realised from this vid there is a dragon shot mfw
I really wish this game got transmog in it that armor looks so nice too bad the damage you get for wearing it is lackluster. Capcom pleaaaaaase patch it in.
No problem. If you do some research you will find stuff :) www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/43 (Transmog for every armor and weapon in the game) God bless
Hey man, excellent video. I like the order in which you organized the material. Would love for a more in depth combo tutorial or even recommendation for one.
Please don't arc shot the head if there is a hammer or HH in your group. Nothing worse than stunlocking a KO main just to do 5 damage ticks. The head is their territory, let them have it. I will usually just go to the other side of the head and unload on it that way with the r2 power shot combo
Its better NEVER to use the arc shot when playing in multi, please bow users think about your close range fellows, its hell when you are under that thing
Even worse for Insect glaive. You line up a nice attack hoping for a mount and you get knocked out of the air by the damn bow user over and over and over.
Koloth there has been a plague recently of people flashbombing the monster out of a mount lately. Idk why but they always do that shit like halfway through, when you know they saw what was going on
That doesn't bother me nearly as much but yeah. Waste of a flash pod for one. And second you don't get nearly as long on the downed monster as a mount knock down would give you. And probably the worst part is mount resistance because now you have to chip away at it again. But at least you are able to do some damage unlike with the arc shot knocking you out of the air. I swear some bow users do it on purpose.
This makes me wanna play MH even more now, coming from playing all the previous ones, being a bow user myself, and the previous pennical point for bow was when they finally had a stick for aiming on the 3ds either with the pro or new 3ds, BUT was still hella wonky. The range weapons were always meant to have a means to aim with. With this coming to console alone gives range weapons a huge buff in my op.
If you like Horizon Zero Dawn, the Bow will feel almost familiar save for the fact that it's not long range. Most enemies can be fought with a simple quickshot, quickshot, strong shot combo. Plus the Dragon Piercer is such a gamble that you cant help but feel satisfied when you hit a 4 to 10 hit combo if you land it. You don't have to worry about sharpness but the damage is low but its easy to rack up damage fairly quickly so you have several trade offs. I recommend it for a unique playstyle. Love the bow!
WhiteVII It's easy to use....pulling it off with out getting hit however is rough unless you only use it when the enemy is down which I just refuse to do especially against the final dragons...Nerg and so on...
Just started MHW on PC. And i was looking for a bow guide and i wanna say thank you for this video! It was very clear and explicit, i would like to see more MHW content, you do a really good job 🤗 . U have a sub from me 👍
First, you can do a sliding charge shot, but it isn't a special sliding attack, just a normal shot, second you can cycle the coating with the D-pad without pressing L1
You actually CAN aim the wall shot by simply moving your directional pad to the desired angle. Also a thing most bow users do is stacking Constitution so that they can use the Charging Sidestep a lot since it can be used to keep up your "stacks". By that i mean you can do R2, R2, R2, Charging Sidestep, R2........ to keep up the damage.
I started playing on sunday. I came from destiny 1 and 2 and im in love with this game. Ive never played a game like this before. Its alot for me to take in but ill get it all eventually. Ive started with the long sword but i plan on using a bow or gun eventually
Great video, very helpful! I'm new to the series and can't figure out how to run sideways while charging up a bow shot. I try to use L3 & R3 but all my character does is strafe left and right; he doesn't turn and run. How do I fix this? I feel like I'm missing something obvious lol
your character looks very beautiful, mind sharing the close up view when changing equipment from supply box in future videos? Idk but seems like the in game render looks different from the character I created, the cheeks look puffier than in the character creation screen.
This Marx the end For Joo as soon as the character starts spinning you shout from the pit of your lungs like the excentric weaboo you are *RYUUGA WAGA TEKI WO KURAU*
When switching from melee to a ranged weapon, people always say to use bow back then (it was MHP3rd and MH4G for me). But it was never comfortable for me, can't shoot this thing properly, went to light bowgun instead ._." (Later HBG in MHXX). Finally used bow in MHW because of how accessable they make it with all weapons.
just want to mention once you hit max charge you can keep there by dashing or pressing circle and dash juice is a must reduce your stamina my personal combo is r2 r2 r2 circle dash r2 circle dash r2 etc until you run out of stamina ps constitution skill (and the other one that reduces stamina loss) is a must
ill have to disagree, circle shot is actually the strongest shot possible. by doing slide to spread shot uses 5 arrows that deals lvl 2 arrow damage so it deals more damage. so best when KO unit is (O+R2+O) also its a quite fast combo
Dash maintains max charges, Don't dash to build charges but Dash to prevent losing charges. If you use Constitution, even if only from Dash Juice you shouldn't have much stamina issues, or if you have max level constitution, you should be able to spam Dash R2 and 0 weaving in and out of the monsters ranged. R2 will lose a charge, O won't. Make sure you dash only when needed. Also, not moving your aim after shooting locks it to that place. If you aim at the monsters head, dash to the left your character will still aim at the head. This way you can spam Dash to maintain max charges burst the enemy down and re position yourself when the enemy moves, in that time the monster is moving your stamina will recover and you can repeat your spam.
I just got into this game. Ive been using a hammer cause I like to smash, but I find it difficulty to deal damage consistently. Ive been considering using the bow, as my brother who has about 400 hours into the game, hunter level 150, he uses a bow. But I didnt want to be a copy cat. Is a hammer build viable or should I switch to bow while im still pretty early game?
what should i do? i looked so many 'witch weapon to pick, when'... im in love with bow and insect glaive... i just want to be fast, damage and good in the endgame
Tom Badguy constitution charm will be a good choice, but if you have the gem that's even better. it provides a better consistency in your hunt. and I would recommend invest 3 points into this skill, it gives you a decent cut in stamina drain without hurting your damage skills.
yes constitution is a must and theres another one so you replenish faster but id rather have these over critical eye or weakness exploit so you can spam the dodge r2 dodge r2 etc
BBk can you do your next video on the Switch Axe. Lately I've been playing with that and loving it. I told my friends about how I have enjoyed it and 2 of them are now trying it out and enjoying it as well. The reason I ask you do the weapon though is that I haven't found to many guides on the weapon and I think some ppl are missing out on its potential.
I tried the bow once, got bombarded with Jagras at a close range, I couldn’t even shoot them as they were attacking me and interrupting a simple attack, am I missing something?
I tried the bow out during the Witcher quest and had the same problem initially. most monsters don't have a flurry of consecutive attacks, so this is a problem that is unique to the swarm of jagras...s? You can attack by spamming normal shot and dodge the one who is the most immediate threat. Keep mobile so that you're only facing one or two potential threats that you can easily manage.
@@williamseipp9691 Yikes dude the Witcher quest is not the quest you go on to try a new weapon lmao Go hunt a great jagras, then a pukei pukei, a tobi kadachi, and a rathian. Hey guys I've kinda hit a wall at hr 13. I currently need to kill nergigante to progress in the story/quests I guess and was wondering at about what rarity armor i need to take on nergigante. I've seen a bunch of ppl kill it with diablos armor so should I use that armor to kill it as well? Currently still loving the game even with the wall in the way. Also love the content bbk I want your podcast along with fireteam chat and dcp every week.
BosSox depends on the weapon you use, I main a CB since mhx so I don't have problem dealing with it and my armor then was just some mixed ratholos & rathian armor. if you can tell me your main weapon I can probably do something, but in general the strategy against nergigante is aim for the white spikes, knock them out to create opening, and repeat. when the spikes turn black the attack will bounce, but luckily you can use the dragon stone( the slingshot ammo dropped from elder dragons, I think you know what I'm talking about) to knock off the black spikes. and do mind that if it went back to its resting area, it'll do at least one bomb dropping attack, normally two (one destroying stuff and change the environment and one is the real bomb dropping). and there will be some needles from top falling down, dealing damage to you/nergigante on hit. these are the points you may want to pay attention to when defeating nergigante, hope you'll make it soon :)
Thanks for the advice. I haven't gotten to try the fight in a few days now because of school and such so I will keep this stuff in mind for my next attempt. Also currently I've been using the switch axe and bow as my two main weapons.
switch axe will have a hard time dealing with it because of the short distance of step in blade mode, you can use the morph attack frequently to switch between the two forms to make up for your mobility when fighting nergigante. A good opening is the down time when destroying its white spikes, you can do a full blade mode circle combo+ 1 morph attack during the down time. For bow you will want to keep a distance (around two dodges length) with nergigante and aim for the white spikes on its arms and the spikes on its head. make good use of your power coating, use power shots to increase your damage output per shot rather than spamming r2 wasting your power coating. there's not much to talk about with bow, its all about precision and positioning. for now you don't really need to invest in the skills so you can go for the available highest defense armor. also, make use of your vitality mantle, it grants you extra health so you can save a few mega potions.
When running up the mushroom wall " deals pretty good damage" PRETTY GOOD!??? PREETTTYY GOOD!???? IT CAN DEAL DAMAGE LIKE A TRUCK IF THE MONSTER IS IN THE RIGHT DISTANCE
Hmm think its bad at 1v2 because when you shoot your slow and the othe monster just hit you but the bowgun is better at both 1v1 and 1v2 because your faster plus if you use the bow in 1v3 your dead because they will just hit you and its hard to escape
bbk this is a very nice video for new players, probably one of the best for monster hunter virgins, but there are a few things I want to talk about :D

Landing that perfect Dragon Piercer is one of the most satisfying things to do in Monster Hunter!! Great video as always!
yes but how disappointing is it when you realize you coulda just pressed r2 the whole time and probably done more damage

DP has a better time severing multiple parts at once.

what is the black mantle he wear at the begin of the vids ?
BBK , do you ever have the problem that you want to use dragonpiercer but you use or unuse a coating
You could also list some good armor abilities to use for the weapon.
great video
It saves coatings if you charge max and then dash and shoot so you can keep max charge. Without anything can be done 3-5 times but eat all stamina
just want to mention once you hit max charge you can keep there by dashing or pressing circle and dash juice is a must reduce your stamina my personal combo is r2 r2 r2 circle dash r2 circle dash r2 etc until you run out of stamina ps constitution skill (and the other one that reduces stamina loss) is a must
ill have to disagree, circle shot is actually the strongest shot possible. by doing slide to spread shot uses 5 arrows that deals lvl 2 arrow damage so it deals more damage. so best when KO unit is (O+R2+O) also its a quite fast combo

If you use Constitution, even if only from Dash Juice you shouldn't have much stamina issues, or if you have max level constitution, you should be able to spam Dash R2 and 0 weaving in and out of the monsters ranged. Thanks, but I really don't want to just get carried through the fight and such if you know what I mean. you can add me on psn though. Its BosSoxfan15
Bow simple to pick up, but goes deeper than ppl think.
When running up the mushroom wall " deals pretty good damage" PRETTY GOOD!??? PREETTTYY GOOD!???? IT CAN DEAL DAMAGE LIKE A TRUCK IF THE MONSTER IS IN THE RIGHT DISTANCE
What bow you using ?
Hmm think its bad at 1v2 because when you shoot your slow and the othe monster just hit you but the bowgun is better at both 1v1 and 1v2 because your faster plus if you use the bow in 1v3 your dead because they will just hit you and its hard to escape
This game is so good, just bought for PC.
Bow down to his amazing skill.
Bow man - Be a hero... From a distance :p
