My tips based on experience: 1. Flash Pods are a miracle againts flying monsters like Rathalos and are good in general. Too few people use them. It can save lives. Just don't overuse it, because you can run out of flash bugs before you know it. 2. Watch out for other hunters position when hitting the monster. If someone is hitting the tail and it is smaller, go somewhere else or you will just "push" each other for lack of a better word. It's annoying and you will output less damage. 3. Be very careful with the Dual Blades. 7 times out of 10 they faint 3 times because they don't pay attention and just slash until they die. Seriously DB users, why are you not paying attention? 4. Bring an armor with elemental resistance when needed! Some weaker monster can even one shot you if your resistance is negative! I've seen hunters in full Bazel set against tempered Kirin. 5. Never attempt to capture an elder dragon and change your Palico's equipment accordingly. Flash Cage may work, but the trap will not. It's 50% of the equipment wasted. 6. Play it safe. If you have 50 minutes, that's more than enough to not to be greedy. You can even fall back and restock multiple times. If you lose control, the monster will throw you around like a toy. 7. HEAL. Most times you can't go in like "I'm gonna tank this" because if you don't have stun resistance, you will be stunned, you will most likely faint and you become one of the reasons for failure. Trust me, it's emberassing. 8. Learn about the monsters and choose where or when to attack them if you can. For example it's a bad idea to fight Kirin on a platform with a Paratoad, because you or someone else can hit it by accident, get paralyzed, while Kirin is immune to it. I usually kick or capture the Paratoad to avoid this. 9. Specialized Tools can help a lot. Makes sure you bring the right one for the job. Fireproof Mantle will not help againts Nergigante, but even the Ghillie Mantle can save you in a tight situation. 10. Eat at the Canteen before or at the camp during the quest. If you are not sure how it works, look it up, or just pick the one with highest Health and/or Stamina boost. You need every advantage you can get. 11. Break parts. Tails can be severed in most cases. If you have a ranged weapon and you are in a team, aim for something that some short range melee weapons can't reach normally, like wings or sometimes the head. 12. If you can't hit the monster's weak spot, just hit something that does not make your weapon bounce off. 13. If you use melee weapons, sharpen it regularly. A dull weapon can cause the weapon to bounce off. 14. Bring the biggest bombs with you as soon as you can. Blowing them up when they sleep can shorten the fight tremendously. 15. Wait for the other hunters especially if the monster is asleep. Maybe they have bombs too. It's the most critical part of the quest, because it can go downhill immediately and you are so close. 16. When you see your fellow hunter stunned, hit them! 17. Watch this video.
Csúb - Az Űrmedve nice tips bro. So detail. This is the best guide for newbies. Some of them are so greedy and sloppy. I fail a lots of behemoth quest because randos. Btw may i know your psn id? We can hunt together maybe 😆
Pro tip, while hunting in Rotten Vale always utilize Slinger Torch. This is very effective against Great Girros. And, it also clears out the toxic smoke when shot towards the ground area. LBG and HBG users will find the flaming ammo to be very effective also. I forgot to mention if you use the Slinger Torch on the area where the toxic smoke is coming from. It, will temporarily clear that area of poison. Look for the rotten flesh with mist coming out of it. Good Hunting!
Garion Bender that's good for a average or experienced Hunter that has that gear. But, for a Hunter that's new or doesn't understand the area they will find the Slinger Torch to be very helpful.
Clearing out the miasma seems to be a special property of Torch Pods. More specifically, it comes from the fires that they leave when you hit the ground or walls with them. Incendiary rounds from a bowgun don't have the same effect.
Bring 10 Honey with you to turn regular potions into mega potions during a hunt which provides you with 20 mega potions in total. You can also combine honey with the freebie blue chest potions and turn those into the mega equivalent.
Here’s a good one: If you are ever Launched by a monster and on the floor, Keeping control stick Neutral will allow you to delay your getup, keep in mind that when on the floor in a getting up state you are also invincible, Think Superman Dive... This has saved my life from being comboed Plenty-a-Time!
This has saved me so many times from tempered Nergigante. He sends me flying, and combos into his short flight followed by slam attack. Just stay down until he finishes his attack. If you try to get up before he finishes his combo, you'll often get hit by the slam and faint.
Don't flash a mounted monster. I know it's tempting when you see a monster flying with a hunter on its back, but the knockdown from a flash pod lasts *significantly* less time than a proper knockdown from a finished mount. 95% of my Teostra, Kushala, and Vaal Hazak mounts end with a random online person using a flash pod... don't be that guy...
This need to be taught to more people. I know that some people just want to brainlessly hit the monsters, but damn it's annoying when a mount is wasted by a flashbang. Even though I'm usually not the one mounting, I'm happy when a mount is occuring, cause that's the best opportunity to crack a might pill and benefit from it the most. Flash bombs are useful, but not to the point where they need to be used left and right.
When I'm running my wide-range support SnS and mount an Elder Dragon, if I manage to succeed the mount I will pop the Might Pill as I'm falling. The developers actually let you use it mid fall, probably for that very reason. If it's Vaal Hazak, Kushala, or Teostra, the might pill will be in effect before I hit the ground because speed eating is just that good. If I get flashed off, there's not much point in using it since the monster will be down for only a fraction of the time they would have gone down otherwise. I even changed my mounting callout to "DON'T FLASH! I'M MOUNTED!" but unfortunately, many people either don't read English or just don't notice. It's a shame too because I really wanted to put something silly there, and despite best efforts it gets ignored most of the time anyway.
always happens with me at teostra i mount it and one stupid idiot thinks cause he saw "A video of how to ebat teostra" flashbangs him everytime he mades the slightest jump or flight speak of paranoia of seein other peoples gameplay oof
also dont hit the monster while someone’s mounted. If it gets knocked down prematurely, the mounter wont be able to do their knockdown attack, and for switchaxe users like me, they wont be able to fill their power bar, which deals massive damage when full during a knockdown
1. Don't use traps on elder dragons 2. Leave the head for hammers and other impact weapons 3. Please stop tripping other hunters (especially if they are on their last part of big bang...)
Salom902 Me trying to use my ultra discharge on charge blade and getting smacked by a long sword before I can swing my axe down, then the monster gets up
Please please please bring Lifepowders on multiplayer hunts! Being able to heal your whole team is so important especially if they get stun locked or you know a monster is able to do a strong attack. I also started bringing 10 Flash Bugs with me on most quests so I can instantly craft tons of Flash Pods.
if its a squad or a party yes bring the aoa item for the party but if sos or random player nope better restart the mission than lose a precious resource.
Sąkata Gıntoki Exactly, I'd say it's even more important with S.O.S calls and random joins because you never know when an inexperienced Hunter will make a mistake and need a helping hand from a veteran. Life Powder is really easy to make so I wouldn't worry too much about the cost.
Rave, healing items aren't really precious resources, they're quite easy to get/craft. It's always nice having someone helping out others. Even more so in a SoS. That general attitude towards "randoms" that can be witnessed in every MH discussion is getting a bit irritating. You're a random too mate. Back to the subject at hand, I personally enjoy playing Wide-range SnS complete with mushroomancer, flash/screamer bombs, and the para SnS, so I'm already a living Lifepowder, I don't need to bring them, nah!
I’m really surprised no one said to start the game with a mushroomancer set. Eat the nitroshroom for attack, parashroom for defense, mandragora for the full life boost, and toadstool for the increased life recovery. Other than the toadstool, everything is permanent until you cart and the stats transfer when you switch armorsets to your real monster hunting one. This is massively important!
I would recommend to capture the monster in the end. For some reasons. 1. You save time fighting the monster in his final area. 2. It prevents to die in the final area. 3. Increase chance for gems. 4. You get more investigation points from capturing. Great Video, keep up the good work.
icaptureing does not increase gem chance gems only appear in rewards if u get lucky for breakin a certain part of the monster has nothing to to with captureing, if you want gems ya got a better chance carveing
joseph huggins that’s not true at all, there have been multiple videos showing that gems are also a capture reward, gems might have a slightly higher chance for a carve but there’s no way to know that until the game is data mined
joseph you are wrong; proof is readily available on reddit that capturing provides gems as well; there is no such thing as a carve-only item on any monster that can be captured.
Well, unless you break certain parts of a monster or on an investigation, there are some monsters that only drop certain items through carves. The amount of facepalms I do every time people capture Odoragon without actually severing off it tail or breaking his fangs to get a chance for a gem.
If you are hunting solo with your Palico and a monster you want to capture is ready to be captured, don't waste shock traps when you can use your Palico's Thunderbug Cage. Be sure your Palico has max proficiency in it so that you can manually order your Palico to put down the Thunderbug Cage.
Slinger ammo can be surprisingly useful great example is water moss to wash off mud off barroth and can also be used on anjanath to snuff out his fire. Bright moss also works wonders on anything that fly's like rathalos but it might not work all the time
my first experience of diablos: "hear a scream" -> turn around -> see a diablos -> diablos charges -> nicks my leg while I dodge -> death... yhea gonna wait before hunting that again
So did you ever fight it? Just got to that point. Although I went for defense boost on my armor so that's +3 so I was able to take 2 or 3 hits and not just 1
@@TheSlammurai not necessarily, you can beat them without it when you get used to fighting them... or just have better gear, killing it faster then it can while you just whale on it not caring for your own survival XD
Choose your Palico's tools too. - When hunting alone I use Vigorwasp to save potions and Vigorwasp Delivery saved my ass many times. - When hunting with a team, bring Coral Orchestra to apply many useful buff, including negate stun and earplug. - If the monster is agile and moves around a lot (like Tobi & Odo), try the Flash & Thundercage. Works with other monsters too. However it won't be able to stun them for long when using shock traps because you've shocked them many times before, use Pitfall traps or tranq the monsters first and THEN use shock traps. - Use the shield if you use ranged weapons I guess.
You can use slinger pods while mounted. Depending on which pod one uses. You'll be able to perform your dropping combo much faster. Becareful of using a flash pod. It will drop the monster before you can complete your combo but it's good for when your out of stamina and know you won't be able take the monster down.
Did you know that you may fire your slinger while knocked prone? (When your hunter is on their back due to being hit by an attack.) While I've never found myself in real life threatening situations while knocked prone, this can save you from taking more damage, considering how most of the slinger ammo causes the monster to stagger.
Hey Arekkz, think you could do a video on multiplayer etiquette? Since a lot of new players are joining the series it would be a good bit of info to put out to the masses along with great refresher for some returning to the game.
WALLHUGGERR93 I agree. I am new to the series as well but with 300 hours played now it is super irritating seeing similar ranked people with terrible hunting etiquette. Getting thrown in the air by a hammer or greatsword and smacked by a long sword is super irritating. I had to use a decoration slot to negate knockback :|
Multiplayer etiquette, the to do list to be a proper multiplayer aristocrat: -Hoard all of the first kit and rations. You're special, let the plebeians eat dirt! -Get yourself a LS or DB. An IG works too. Now go and attack at will without worrying about tripping the peasants trying to poke monsters with their forks and butter knife. I mean "lance and SnS" as they like to call these things. -Don't let these homeless people trying to carve meat from a dead monsters, make them learn how to behave properly in front of a deceased creature and trip them until they abandon their dishonourable way of life. -Do not be selfish, and let other peoples learn the pleasure of flight if your weapon allows it. Let them taste the freedom that birds have, do not deny them that pleasant feeling. -Do not overexert yourself. If you're tired, just let your serfs hunt those bloody monsters while enjoying tea at camp. You wouldn't want to hurt your pretty face because of a misstep caused by fatigue.
This is an excellent and extremely helpful video and will help me continue my elder dragon hunts and be more successful Gaijin hunter I completely agree
When Arekkz said "Don't worry when things go south. It happens to the best of us", it hit real deep man. Not just in monster hunter. I needed to hear that. Thank you Arekkz.
I love every video you guys make know matter if I already know all of it. It’s humbling to know that people like you guys are putting out good content to help the new comers to the series and help out with the veterans with some tips they might have missed! Pro Tip-If you knock over uragann(the chin) you can mine his back for firecell, carb, lava nuggets.
If you’re using long sword. Try timing an attack before the roars so you can use the Foresight Slash as the monster roars doing some damage whilst building up your spirit level.
Tips from a support/ team focused hunter. Bring and use life powders. You can save a team mate from near death especially if the monster is trying to combo them and they are diving after diving after diving. Or blocking while taking chip damage and the monster refuses to stop attacking them. Second of your team mate is dizzy. Hit them!!!!! You will get them out of the dizzy effect way faster than they can mash their buttons to get out of it. Can't tell you how many times I would have lived from something of a team mate hit me to give me a chance to actually dodge teostra's explosions. Gunners you should do this every time as you can knock a team mate out of their dizzy from long distance instead of a blade master running to them and whacking them. As a follow up if you are using a weapon that launches your team mates like the upward slash from the great sword. You can get your team mates out of para. Alternatively take a cleaner booster (the purple one) and place it on that team mate or near them and they will get the para automatically removed.
As a newbie one thing I've learned is you should never underestimate how fast a sword and shield can inflict various status effects. Personally I feel it does better than Elemental damage.
That's because elemental damage is calculated differently from status effect damage, and that some monster parts have different elemental defenses against the monsters elemental weakness, while basically no monsters besides a small minority(*cough*KIRIN*cough*) can completely no-sell status effect weaponry of any kind, while it is possible to have a Dragon damage attack deal 0 damage to an elder dragon with a Dragon weakness, if you hit the wrong parts.
It's also a earlier indicator of when u can capture a monster than the skulls on the minimap. To be honest though its harder to notice so i end up using the mini map skulls more often.
Spicy Meat'a Balla you only need one way of knowing, if you use the heartbeat sensor then you don’t need the other tells. Just pointing it out because that’s personally my favourite way of knowing.
Same but with a better time 29:27. I went to it over prepared. Max Xeno-Kirin mixed set. Max thunder resistance and ate veggies for element resist large, and armorskins and hardshell powders since they stack on each other. All in all defence of 470 and thunder resistance of 55. Needless to say he didn't do much to me
Is it wrong that I never want to fight a tempered Kirin again lol? I'm at HR87 now and my friends want help with him but man he can be a real jerk sometimes.
I salut you for soloing him, I hate fighting against him so much that words cannot describe. Although I should get into it because I feel tempered Kirin is probably the best stage to farm research points
I think more people need to know where to hit. I main hunting horn and hammer and I cant tell you how many times long sword and duel blade users go for the head messing up my combo while the tail has not been severed .
Darian Plowman i call bs. Tripping is no where near as bad in previous games. Tripping is practically non existent and you only get flinched if your not attacking
i played monster hunter since freedom 2, before hunt i always bring the weapon the monster weak to and equip armor that have skills that support my weapon, like affinity and sharpness, always bring sonic bomb, and flash bomb, 10 herb, potion and mega potion, pitfall and shock trap, and demon, armor items, i always take my time when fighting monsters know when the monster most vulnerable, and where know the weakest point and exploit it and find a spot where most of the monster attack wont hit always check the health bar and patience always wait for an opening. maybe that's all my tips if any of you read this
This is a great comprehensive guide to hunting. I use the same strategies myself. I'm currently using a Greatsword Diablos set for Crit Draw attacks so positioning is everything. I hear a lot about how people tackle-cancel into the 3rd swing with Greatsword but sometimes just the simple "slash, roll and run" tactic works even better as it takes less time to set up, allowing you to stay safe.
Oh really? My mistake, thanks for clearing that up! Is the timing a little different? I found it a little less reliable when they were enraged, but perhaps my timing was off.
Arekkz Gaming there seems to be about a half second to a second delay after sheathing your weapon before you can fire your slinger, which may be contributing to the timing thing. CB has a fairly long sheathe time on average so that coupled with the delay makes it hard to get the timing right. I've missed flash bombing flying monsters because of this same delay as well.
I'd like to point out the usefulness of the Bow. It's fast, does decent damage, and can out-space a lot of attacks. Plus Dragon Piercer is amazing if you know how to aim it right. In my opinion it's the perfect weapon for people who are just starting the game. It has a low skill floor, and mastering it is only a matter of learning what arrows to use when. It's my go to weapon for difficult monsters.
Not bringing traps against regular monsters? Traps are always in my loadout against them. While trapped, every player can do their most powerful attack to the body part they want while the monster is being static for a few seconds. Even more useful against Tempered or fast-moving monsters (Odogaron being first in my mind).
Bass Cody I personally hate it when other people bring traps to fight trappable monsters. It just means I’ll have a harder time trying to tranq them instead of killing them. Just MGS3 things.
Step 1) make monster run to sleep. Step 2) Go to monster's head. Step 3) Tranq bomb x2 (3 if you're the unsure overcautious type.) Step 4) Put down trap. Step 5) Profit. Tranqs aren't reliant on being dropped after the monster is trapped. So as long as you tranq the fool while it's sleeping, you're fine. Then just drop a trap like normal and RIP. If for whatever reason you're complaining about this happening in hunts where the monster isn't able to go to sleep, start bringing the challenger mantle, drop the trap, stand on other side, profit.
@@VOlDTALES Picked this game up yesterday. Expected to find the game too easy and hollow, like most rpgs are after you go deeeeep into the dark souls rabbit hole. GOD DAMN was I impressed. And its hard as fuuuuuuccccc (which I love, eh eh). Ehy, if you play on ps4 Id like to have someone to practice with. So, maybe reply to this with your psn. If you're not on ps4, the hey, it doesn't matter, I hope you have the best of days
Mighty Commander late, but o always found my dark souls experience is really handy for Xeno and Safi, mainly because they act a lot like a dark souls boss
as someone who is relatively new to this series, these videos are absolutely essential. Keep up the good work. +1 for seeing even some of the most seasoned getting their arse handed to em. ;)
Funny that now i have to watch educational hunting videos on the internet because its been over a decade since i was on the top of the food chain... (Monster Hunter 1 veteran) Back in my day you had to bring your wetstones that you mined from the rathalos nest on the forest and hills zone. You had no scoutflies, so you had to bring like 10 paintballs to throw around at the monsters to keep track of them and follow them on the map, good luck if you forgot. Since you had no "fixed items" when you wanted to mine, you brought your pickaxe, when you wanted to catch bugs, you brought your net, never bring those on the hunt, for they will take the inventory space that you need to bring the loot. The game barely told you anything, you just had to choose a direction and wing it. The greatsword is still the best weapon 15 years later =D
if you are bleeding out, you can go into a camp to change items and you will heal back to 100% and sharpness was fully restored. i have not tested for abnormal status effects but i assume it will do the same. noteworthy if you need the help and a camp is nearby like camp 12 in coral highlands.
I was having a STRUGGLE with tempered kirin in multiplayer. It was like every time I got in a session with a group someone would always die. Now I decided to do it solo...messed up once, but I used that to learn the monster. Second time came and killed him in under 30 min. Light bow gun, mega bombs, sleep ammo and sticky ammo mixed with PATIENCE!!! Now I'm finally over 50!
Best thing to do. Your cat can be a much better help than all but the best players and it doesn't matter how many times they faint, so long as you don't three times. As long as you're stocked up, not too greedy and well-prepared you're bound to come off much better!
This is EXACTLY the video I was looking for! Would love to see more of these, say for each weapon...like "Weapon Guide: In The Field" or something. Thanks for the great content!
Did anyone notice that Astera jerky heals the red portion of your health bar? I find it handy against Teostra, since his flame aura tends to leave quite a dent when I get up close and personal, but I always carry 5 with me as a standard.
I've been seeing a lot of people using fire and blast weapons against Bazel B-52 Here's a hot tip. . . Don't do that. PS Use Hunter Notes to look up monster weaknesses. Plan accordingly.
Missing hits because of erratic head movements is the biggest gripe for me. Was relived to see that even good players whiff attacks during the KO phase.
This is a fantastic video, Arekkz! Sometimes it's good to just step back and take a look at the overall process. Especially with so many of the most popular videos being speedruns, it can be easy to forget that MonHun doesn't need to be a straight DPS race. Really enjoyed you working through your processes and loadouts! I definitely switched from Antidote to Herbal Medicine at some point - you can't carry as many, but they're so much faster to use (which is especially handy when playing solo) and give that little health bump too.
PSA: Please, please, please don't flash people who have mounted monsters. It's a waste of a flash and when you've finally got a mount it feels bad, man.
Nice! Please do more strategy videos for our new hunters. Cheers! Btw just a few tips about multiple monsters 1.Monsters who lose in a turf war will leave the vicinity.2.dung pods will be less effective after the 1st hit, so decide carefully who you want to single out or just lure your target to another area. 3. Use the other monsters to knock down your target and hide behind it to evade some attacks from the 2nd monster.
Stop taking all the damn potions and rations in the box for yourself. Its selfish and and it takes away healing items that others can use. Please be considerate of fellow hunters.
I dont even care about checking the chest, because megapotions are way more effective and honey is easy to grow (and basic potions can be bought). If 10 megas is not enough for you, then you should reconsider your strategy :D
When there is an environmental trap like the vines or a rock just make the monster hit it with an attack and it will activate. When it comes to things like the little dam in the ancient forest reading the little note will mostly give you an idication on what to do when it comes to activating it
I've only made it to Elders Ridge recently(I need to take down Nergigante atm) and I haven't been to Vaal Hazak so I can't answer how to trigger those but I think if you google it you should be able to find out
The teeth outside Vaal Hazak you just shoot them with a slinger to make them fall down just like the rocks in the ancient forest at the bottom center of the tree. As for the lava in Elder's Recess if your referring to the area that is just south west of were lavisioth is at then I think that is just random as to when the volcano wishes to start erupting or it could just be you have to the monster to slam on it to for it to erupt up onto them. I have only had it go off randomly on its own even when not fighting in that room and just collecting amber.
There are multiple types of environmental objects: 1) Status traps, like paratoads. Just hit them and they will disperse a status cloud. Beware of friendly fire. 2) Vine traps. Mostly located in the forest, also there is at least one in rotten vale as well. To activate them you either need to force a monster to hit them twice, or you need to spend 2 small (or large) bombs. After that the tree falls down and the vine trap is set. 3) Objects hanging above you (boulders and fangs). Just shoot them while enemy is below. I highly recommend you to restrain the target either with a trap or a flash before doing so. 4) Felyne supporters. Sometimes you can have some local felynes helping you out during the hunt. Not only they can accompany you on your hunts, but with high friendship level they also spawn as highly effecitve environmental traps. Most require you to mount the monster in that area, but gajalakas for example can ambush the monster on their own. Even "wild" gajalakas, who would normally attack you, usually prioritize the monster and throw status grenades at him. 5) Supportive objects like vitalilies. They can either heal you or (like sporepuffs) hide you from the monsters view. Simply hit them with your weapon\slinger or just press action button near them. As you can see there are lots of different things. Just check your map for different environmental objects, you can find lots of usefull stuff everywhere.
I'm pretty sure I've sonic bombed Black Diablos plenty times while she was enraged. At least i think i do. Most of the time i'm just focusing on the hunt so i don't normally notice anything else. I might have to test that out at a later point and edit this comment to confirm it.
A nice hint for using flash pods in solo hunting - try firing flash pods straight down at your feet. If you're in a position where you want to use a flash, odds are the monster is going to be looking at you. Detonating the pod on the ground means no more wasted pods because it exploded off to the side or behind the monster you want to stun.
I just got a Tempered Kirin Investigation with 5 rewards... 15 Minute time limit, 2 player hunt, 1 faint and you lose.... I don’t know what to do, he’s too hard! 😨
That was a really good guide! I am not new to Monster Hunter and have generally no problem on my hunts, but this guide gives newer Players a good insight on how to approach hunting.
So you CAN roll through roars, then? I feel like everytime I tried it, I was hoping in vain not to get stopped in my tracks. Eventually I stopped and just got my earplugs to max.
Thanks for this man, I kept dying to Legiana, but after setting up my item loadout, practicing with flashpods and shortcuts, and not being greedy, I was able defeat it with no deaths. I learned its much quicker if your not greedy.
Lifepowders Not flashing mounts Carrying your weight instead of getting carried Not ruining people's sleep bombing attempts All of these and more will make you a better and well liked hunter
Rebel Jakku true it can be helpful against overly energetic monster, although you should use those moments to be hyper aggressive yourself. My sticking point is people who wake sleeping monsters cause there so spastic they can't stop hitting buttons, especially since most people with sleep weapons are looking to sleep bomb only to have a nub ruin it before a LB or B+ hits the dirt
John Weston very true I always pick and choose my moments better to be smart in your attacks not supid and get yourself in a situation that fucks over the entire team
I still come back to this video every now and then, especially currently when I am just training on tempered monsters before tackling some tempered elder dragon investigations. Thank you for the tips, as I was really struggling against Tempered Kirin, a monster that is really outside of my comfort zone. I may avoid to repeat this guy at least until getting an armor that can shrug off lightning without the cloak.
This was super helpful, thank you! I began playing this game early this year, and have ~360 hours in, but I'm very new to combat games as a whole and I've been struggling to pick up on the cadence and thought process of a fight--what to look for, how to balance stats, etc. I actually didn't know some of the tips in here, like the screamer pod trick, for example. Very concise and great helpful footage!
This video is awesome! I'm a newbie to this series and I'm still struggling to get through the learning curve (these kinds of games aren't my usual genre, I'm a turn-based RPG guy). Just watching a pro talk through what he does is so helpful
I ran into a troll hunter who wouldnt let me carve my deserved rewards at the end of the quest, so here's a tip be respectful cause we work hard to kill these high rank tempered monsters, you never know what that hunter can carve i desperately needed a gem and probably would had got one if it wasn't for him.
I'd need to find it again but there is a skill that prevents knock back on carving. I think it was called iron carve but it's almost exclusively used against trolls like that.
I wouldn't say probably... But I concur, it is EXTREMELY irritating to have to deal with carve trolls. Only real way to deal with them is send them flying off a cliff to carve in peace. Which doesn't work with some weapons...
Great video. I was not aware of screamer pods being ineffective when the monster is enraged. My suggestion is for Bow gun users in a party to remember there recovery ammo. Sometimes as a bow gun user you should step back and heal your party with the recovery bullets then go for damage. It can mean the difference between a win and a lose.
Awesome vid. Arekkz :). Little mounting tip: when you mount a monster and the monster start trying to shake or crash to get you off, simply just move to a different area (from head to back to tail) it takes you some stamina but it will give you more time to exhaust the monster and thus k.o.ing the monster quicker :D maybe lot of you know this but :D if somebody didn't its nice to now, and also you dont have to worry about bracing :) Have a good hunt!
This is for greatsword users: when dodging while the weapon is sheated then attack you will do the ,,tackle" after that press circle or B to do a Medium attack, that when aimed right can attack a monsters head and bring you in its save Zone.
1) Many areas have palico/gajalaka assist locations, and if you can mount the monster near them they can give you a hand. The palicos will restrain the monster, giving you an opportunity to heal, sharpen your weapon, or lay down some longer combos. The gajalakas will shell the monster with explosives for a respectable amount of damage while it flails around on the ground - again, use the respite to your advantage. This can be extremely helpful for solo players. 2) Again for soloing, be familiar with your palico's gadgets. For most difficult fights, coral orchestra is your friend. Buffs, protections, and the little idiot can be across the arena while doing it - no need to hope he makes it over to you. As soon as you get access to it, start leveling it up. This is especially important for elder dragon fights, where you can't depend on him for heals and traps don't work. The plunderblade is also really useful for farming additional materials, and getting rewards from fights you're carting on (may as well walk away with something).
With tempered Kirin, people just are playing too greedy and just go ham or don't pay attention. Last week cleared that quest pretty easily with a total of three gunners, two heavy and one light. We had a gunlancer, but he chickened out luckily pretty quickly, he was pretty terrible. Kirin telegraphs all of his attacks so obviously it's not even funny. Cleared the quest with only one cart from one of the heavy gunners. Pay attention and don't be greedy. Even with Nerg there's really no reason to get hit by near any attack, they're just extremely predictable. They get a lucky hit? Don't be stupid and keep attacking, heal up. If you know you can survive more than one hit with the health you have, then you can play a bit more risky, if they can cart you with a single hit with your current HP, step back and heal up. If you know you're a reckless player and you're set on playing online, make sure you have the health and defense to not be a liability to the rest of your team. There's literally no reason why you should cart two or three times in a single fight, even a single cart should be a rare occurrence because of unfortunate stuns or your hunter deciding to take a nap when the monster is focusing you obsessively. So many people I've seen keep trying to do damage with only 10-20% HP left and cart because of it.. You're not Rambo, you're a liability for every other person in your team, either play solo or play with common sense.
Kublai Khan I honestly doubt you ever tried it after the destruction of the Xeno/slicer meta. There's no stunlock anymore, especially since we barely even used it due to it's now extremely lackluster damage. Kirin can only be damages when you hit his head with guns because 90% of the time he has his lightning cloak active and the only way to get rid of that, is a one-shot ammo type that travels at an absolutely abysmal speed in a full arc, try hitting a Kirin with that in it's head, and you can only carry a few of them. I think you've been watching way too much footage of the outdated Xeno/slicer meta. Go ahead and fight a tempered Kirin with two randoms while you're all using guns, after that, come back and you at least look like you have some form of credibility.
You should really promote this video for new MHR players. It gets in the nitty gritty on how a hunters should think going into the game. Even though it is not the same game, it has a bunch of similarities that will be useful in MHR. Plus with the demo only having so many chances, this video helps any hunter to become better. Thank you for the awesome video.
Sygmus6 a good tip would use a edited shout out to tell players you're going to put the monster to sleep. They Probably won't listen anyways. Still, nice to attempt it rather than just chancing it.
I do that already! I have a message on my radial menu saying "I'm sleep-bombing!" and I use a emote signaling to stop when the monster is going to sleep. Might be better when I get up to HR 49+ where more people are familiar with sleep mechanics.
One tip I'll add gear wise is when you start getting into high rank, I recommend going for Ingot gloves. They come with vitality +2 and 1 level decoration slot. If by time you happen to have a vitality decoration you'll have 150 hp all the time and 200 when you eat.
Especially if you main Dual Blades like me, and if you solo more than multiplayer. Only took 1 attempt for tempered Kirin, i did 1-3 strikes depending on the circumstances and backed off, rinse and repeat and after 20 minutes it was over. Better to take your time and succeed than rush and fail. Just my opinions and hopefully it helps and if not then try looking at other peoples comments, theres bound to be 1 that works if someone is looking for help.
This was very helpful for me. I am a first timer with MH:W and loving it so far. I haven’t put a lot of time in and I just defeated my first Barroth. But this game is fun and doesn’t really teach you these techniques that you go into here. Thanks again!
Be wary of people who call themselves "veterans" of the series. They can be a little condescending and won't stop talking. 😂 Just enjoy the game y'all.
I mostly played Generations, but I do have tips. Obviously be prepared for the hunt, meaning bring drinks, potions, anything that'll benefit you, etc. Buffs (armor skins and demon drugs) and Full-health potions are great if you're new. Lifepowder is a must too. Obviously as well, know your combos, Sword and Shield is a great place to start.
If you have problems with the tempered Kirin go with your Palico and just another hunter, not 4 but 2. If you have the Musical Gadget for your Palico is easy enough, he will provide your with some buff anti knock up, more defense etc etc. Also remeber to use the Vitality Mantle and the Thunderproof Mantle, i did it another hunter and he was using the cat with Vigorgrasp, while mine was buffing people around. Killed with the Xeno hammer and the Full Vaal Hazak Armor with some thunder resistance gem
One thing i'd like to emphasize on is the playing it safe strategy. It's important the entire battle but people tend to toss strategy out the window when they see the death symbol pulsing. (not sure if that was mentioned but when you see a pulsing skull on the minimap for the creature you are hunting, they are near death and will usually retreat to their nest to recover. At this point you can follow them and finish them off or trap them for more material rewards). It's important to remember to keep the same frame of mind you had the entire battle until it's over. If you decide to speed things up or not take the monster seriously because you know the battle is almost over. You will regret it.
This really helped as You were explaining I realized that when I fight Diablos I always try to do combos and I now know it’s not always a Idea. Who else just has Arekks voice in their head when they do do things stupid in monster hunter world? No? Just me? Ok
My tip is always look to see how many items you have before going out, saved me many times. Another thing is if you faint get back up and keep kicking, I've been downed a lot by some tougher monsters like tigrex but I keep going, so make a lot of ancient potions to help.
Thanks for this, I never really understood why I couldn't defeat certain monsters but now I see the mistakes I've been making. Hopefully this will help me in future hunts.
This might have been mentioned, but carrying Jerky will help in some instances. It's for more than bleeding (which squatting will cure lol) but also for completely curing the red on your health bar. Watch a nearly full red bar go green in a second with jerky.
The radial menu quick access will craft an item if you run out as long you have the supplies for it in your inventory. For instance, if you use all your megapotions and you have potions and honey in your inventory, the next time you click the megapotion from your radial menu it will quick craft it. I carry 10 honey and basically have 20 megapotions for the hunt. FYI, you can change how you select radial menu items from the options menu from "hold to select" to "click to select". I I find this easier when quick crafting from the radial menu.
My tips based on experience:
Csúb - Az Űrmedve A good DB user will utilize the increased mobility of dodging in Arch-Demon mode
14. I think the TCS does more damage than a Mega Barrel Bomb, but should still be followed up by Mega Barell Bombs, correct me if I'm wrong.
Csúb - Az Űrmedve do not insult my weapon because of the poor players you have to deal with. Lol Great tips though.
My guess would be ppl using triangle+Circle combo too much, because you can't cancel them you might just get hit and you are dead.
One thing Dark Souls taught me is an enemy is defeated when it's dead, not before that.
Ah yes nothing like hacking at a boss until it's legs blow off and suddenly the fight is 10x harder somehow
What about a Great Jagras?
*me who played sekiro where the game tricked u into thinking that the ape was dead*
Slave Knight Gale.... Twins..like fucking half the Bloodborme bosses again.
Ape from sekiro lol. That was a fucking surprise
Good Hunting!
robert rice the amount of people that neglect this is surprising to me.
Honestly I find it easier to just wear the Girros belt to nullify the damage. Just saves time if I'm fighting in that area.
Jeedy Jay flame ammo is effective against Girros, Barnos, and Great Girros in the Rotten Vale.
Bring 10 Honey with you to turn regular potions into mega potions during a hunt which provides you with 20 mega potions in total. You can also combine honey with the freebie blue chest potions and turn those into the mega equivalent.
I love ur vids
I bring 10 honey and 10 herbs, giving me a total of 20 Mega’s and 10 potions
Damn I had no idea, thanks for the rip.
Lol this is such a veteran tip😂 I did this too for traps
Yea I carry blue mushrooms too, honey is fairly easy to find in most biomes 😁
It's pretty much a matter of "I'm out of potions, needs more honey" 😂
Here’s a good one: If you are ever Launched by a monster and on the floor, Keeping control stick Neutral will allow you to delay your getup, keep in mind that when on the floor in a getting up state you are also invincible, Think Superman Dive... This has saved my life from being comboed Plenty-a-Time!
Shade Leet An underrated tip. Play dead and avoid those combos.
This has saved me so many times from tempered Nergigante. He sends me flying, and combos into his short flight followed by slam attack. Just stay down until he finishes his attack. If you try to get up before he finishes his combo, you'll often get hit by the slam and faint.
Learned this with deviljho. Damn pickle is still the bane of my existence
Sometimes it's just a reaction to a monster flying and they can't see that you are on it. And sometimes it's ignorance.
always happens with me at teostra i mount it and one stupid idiot thinks cause he saw "A video of how to ebat teostra" flashbangs him everytime he mades the slightest jump or flight speak of paranoia of seein other peoples gameplay oof
also dont hit the monster while someone’s mounted. If it gets knocked down prematurely, the mounter wont be able to do their knockdown attack, and for switchaxe users like me, they wont be able to fill their power bar, which deals massive damage when full during a knockdown
1. Don't use traps on elder dragons
2. Leave the head for hammers and other impact weapons
3. Please stop tripping other hunters (especially if they are on their last part of big bang...)
Wolffang731 why shouldn't you use traps on elder dragons?
King Traps just don't work ok them. Better save it.
doesnt work on****
Wolffang731 The amount of times those long swords mess me up on my dragon pierce just when im about to break the head.
Salom902 Me trying to use my ultra discharge on charge blade and getting smacked by a long sword before I can swing my axe down, then the monster gets up
Tip #1 always pet poogie 🐷
Anonymous Suomynona that sounds so dirty
Whats that do? I pretty much just ignore it after I got the different change of clothes for it
Its a superstition that monster hunter players believe in. That petting a poogie increases your luck
Xenaca if you carry it to certain points in astera , at a random chance ,he might find you a food voucher
Hachinaka bring him to the handler to get vouchers pretty consistently
Please please please bring Lifepowders on multiplayer hunts! Being able to heal your whole team is so important especially if they get stun locked or you know a monster is able to do a strong attack. I also started bringing 10 Flash Bugs with me on most quests so I can instantly craft tons of Flash Pods.
if its a squad or a party yes bring the aoa item for the party but if sos or random player nope better restart the mission than lose a precious resource.
always~
Getting the Health boasters helps too especially during the final phase in its lairs
Can't capture elders though, so yeah don't bother with traps
joseph you are wrong; proof is readily available on reddit that capturing provides gems as well; there is no such thing as a carve-only item on any monster that can be captured.
Bright moss also works wonders on anything that fly's like rathalos but it might not work all the time
Dustin Mcalpine - what does bright moss do to flying monsters?
poopikins Headshots to flying monsters with brightmoss will flinch, or knockdown the monster.
Torch can melt Lavasioth's lava armor
my first experience of diablos: "hear a scream" -> turn around -> see a diablos -> diablos charges -> nicks my leg while I dodge -> death... yhea gonna wait before hunting that again
Yep 😂😂
So did you ever fight it? Just got to that point. Although I went for defense boost on my armor so that's +3 so I was able to take 2 or 3 hits and not just 1
Fights against Diablos requires Stun negation, because he's going to spend most of the fight throwing you like a ragdoll.
@@TheSlammurai not necessarily, you can beat them without it when you get used to fighting them... or just have better gear, killing it faster then it can while you just whale on it not caring for your own survival XD
Remember to take breaks meow and then! Ya know what they say: All play and no rest makes for a dull hunter, nya? - Felynes
I can't think of a new name I fucking love mh4 ultimate
Doodle!
This tip is a lie, nine-hour binge playing is true way to play.
* Neko's Note *
Monster hunting is fun, but also veeery hard work. Remember, important to take many kyukei. "Kyukei" means breaks! - Neko
Mh4u was one of my favorite games until I got this one! It's where I started in the series and I got every game since.
Might I add that if u mount the head part of a monster, you can fire pods straight into its eyeball, which I believe causes extra damage
Whoa did not know this
Did you know that you may fire your slinger while knocked prone? (When your hunter is on their back due to being hit by an attack.) While I've never found myself in real life threatening situations while knocked prone, this can save you from taking more damage, considering how most of the slinger ammo causes the monster to stagger.
You can shoot dung bombs when you're pinned to get monsters off you.
WALLHUGGERR93 Yeah its really good to know multiplayer etiquette since its annoying to try to sleep bomb only to have a duel blade user ruin it
especially when you want to capture but the noob keeps spamming bow rocks
Multiplayer etiquette, the to do list to be a proper multiplayer aristocrat:
-Hoard all of the first kit and rations.
Word that's my number 1 problem. We are a team not fighting each other.
Great video mate. You did a great walkthrough of the things in our heads when we hunt ^^
This is an excellent and extremely helpful video and will help me continue my elder dragon hunts and be more successful
Gaijin hunter I completely agree
Gaijin Hunter ! LEGEND !!! :)
Holy 💩!
Its Master in the chat!
When Arekkz said "Don't worry when things go south. It happens to the best of us", it hit real deep man. Not just in monster hunter. I needed to hear that. Thank you Arekkz.
My strategy:
1. Activate Demon mode and blade dance
2. Scream Ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora
3. Ta-da Monster's dead
lol, never expected a Kenshin reference here. If I could put up the clap emoji, I would!
Kenshin? When did JoJo turn into a redhead?
Made my day
My boy Star Platinum didn't get Za Warudo just to be called Kenshin
God, your virginity is practically screaming at me.
DTxSolo you can also mine the rabodaan in his back the same way.
Mining a living creature while it still draws breath, you Monsters!
Malevolent Duppy A prompt will appear it will say just press O or whatever system your on.
SnS Powder Papas or Horn Honchos are always appreciated.
You didn’t mention how the heartbeat monitors in the corner by the map also show when the monster goes in and out of rage, and when they’re weak.
Brock Olsen You don't need that to know...
Nice tip, was wondering what that heartbeat meant.
Brock Olsen i agree. You can find out from the heartbeat sensor before they even start limping and get the capture without having to chase them down
I finally beat tempered Kirin
Completion time 49:13
I was intense
Daaaaymn, kudos to you! Talk about cutting it close.
Congrats man I four manned him again a few days ago and I still don't want to fight him again lol
I can tell you I've been tripped multiple times when meteor smashing the head.
Atleast they're doing more dps
Hammer that end.
Unless boss turns around.... That case reverse.
I learned more from your wheel outlook :P Using your potions on your wheel and having craft+equip on a flashpod is REALLY useful
i played monster hunter since freedom 2, before hunt i always bring the weapon the monster weak to and equip armor that have skills that support my weapon, like affinity and sharpness, always bring sonic bomb, and flash bomb, 10 herb, potion and mega potion, pitfall and shock trap, and demon, armor items,
i always take my time when fighting monsters know when the monster most vulnerable, and where
know the weakest point and exploit it and find a spot where most of the monster attack wont hit
always check the health bar and patience always wait for an opening. maybe that's all my tips if any of you read this
So was I, but now I now bring Affinity booster and Rocksteady mantle ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
kwoloon13 I no longer bring traps, I have no reason too. I can knock monsters over to immobilize them for stronger, slower attacks to hit.
I only use traps to capture the monster to end the fight sooner.
But G rank will make those potions useless because if you ever survive monster's attack your only choice is MAX POTION LOL
Arrekz I have done testing and both Diablos and Black Diablos can be sonic'd while enraged now.
Oh really? My mistake, thanks for clearing that up! Is the timing a little different? I found it a little less reliable when they were enraged, but perhaps my timing was off.
Only thing now is when they are enraged your time window is a shorter when they burrow
Ah awesome, that's probably it then, thanks very much for the info! :D
There is a point where screamers don't seem to work at all though. For me this is when Diablos digs to transition to another zone.
Pfft. Trap hunting is boring hunting. I'll take dancing the tango de la muerte over wailing on a constantly trapped monster any day.
gundamforreal just tranq them before you put the trap down lol
Xerxerous I try, but most of the time the tranq wears off before the monster gets trapped, because it seems to go everywhere but where the trap is.
Step 1) make monster run to sleep.
Step 2) Go to monster's head.
Step 3) Tranq bomb x2 (3 if you're the unsure overcautious type.)
Step 4) Put down trap.
I always recomend the five D's:
Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge.
Imagining a rajang throwing a myriad of things at hunters.
Dont forget dodge
You forgot Dodge
And if all else fails and are using a weapon that can, Da block button can save you too
......you said dodge twice. Is this to emphasize the value of dodging or a joke?
No amount of Dark Souls skills can prepare you for the first time Anjanath stunlocks you.
Yeah, i feel that too. I think i can use my experience on darksouls against anjanath. But something akward happened
@@sandya3016 And let's not talk about Rathalos IK.....
Tell me about it. I'm a souls/bornes/sek vet and still was not prepared for the universe that is monster hunter world
@@VOlDTALES Picked this game up yesterday.
(Monster Hunter 1 veteran)
Back in my day you had to bring your wetstones that you mined from the rathalos nest on the forest and hills zone.
Facts lol
That is one of my weaknesses, I always try to get that extra hit in when I shouldn’t. Great tips.
Super useful tip is if you see a stun locked teammate , hit him and he’ll wake up faster.
Lost count of the number of times I've saved my mates by twanging an arrow their way.
Mid NighT Yea tell that to my teammates on 1 faint nergigante. They got wrecked in the first phase of the fight.
if you are bleeding out, you can go into a camp to change items and you will heal back to 100% and sharpness was fully restored. i have not tested for abnormal status effects but i assume it will do the same. noteworthy if you need the help and a camp is nearby like camp 12 in coral highlands.
“Your probably pretty confident in what your doing”
Nah, I’m just screaming at myself the whole time😂
Press options to skip the food eating scene...
Heresy, I require my muscle cat before every hunt
skipping the food eating should be a war crime
This is EXACTLY the video I was looking for! Would love to see more of these, say for each weapon...like "Weapon Guide: In The Field" or something. Thanks for the great content!
Did anyone notice that Astera jerky heals the red portion of your health bar?
I find it handy against Teostra, since his flame aura tends to leave quite a dent when I get up close and personal, but I always carry 5 with me as a standard.
It increases your recovery of the red bar on your health bar. Also, it stops bleeding from Odoragon's stronger attacks.
ChaosDemon2 I actually never thought about using it on teo clever use of the item there buddy
I have 2+ of every hero streamstone except sword, and I'm a greatsword player, the desire sensor is strong °¬°
Brian Lopez it's ma' brother hunter
I know your pain, got multiples of every other stone but I did recently get 1 for my LS :D
I keep getting hammer game is trying to tell me something
I play 4 different weapon types, SA, CB, LS, and GS I just barely got my first of the two streamstones that work on any of the four
Never hot a single one, for nothing :( got 2 sword Warrior Streamstone Not more... Over 100 tempered elder dragons killed
I've been seeing a lot of people using fire and blast weapons against Bazel B-52
Here's a hot tip. . . Don't do that.
PS
Use Hunter Notes to look up monster weaknesses. Plan accordingly.
What about dragon element? I like to use my nergigante LS and I don't know where to look up the monster infos when I'm on a hunt.
I took out my defender GS.... and I started blasting!!!
Missing hits because of erratic head movements is the biggest gripe for me. Was relived to see that even good players whiff attacks during the KO phase.
Lets take a moment to appreciate how good this game makes the fucking food look.
appreciated, drooling already....
"When you've finally got a mount" *laugh in insect glaive*
Nice! Please do more strategy videos for our new hunters. Cheers!
Btw just a few tips about multiple monsters
1.Monsters who lose in a turf war will leave the vicinity.2.dung pods will be less effective after the 1st hit, so decide carefully who you want to single out or just lure your target to another area.
3. Use the other monsters to knock down your target and hide behind it to evade some attacks from the 2nd monster.
Stop taking all the damn potions and rations in the box for yourself. Its selfish and and it takes away healing items that others can use. Please be considerate of fellow hunters.
ya I just bring my own rations now because I expect them to be gone
I just take one portion of each for myself, and if there are some left over, I will take the leftovers
I just never look in the chest, i swear its always empty
I dont even care about checking the chest, because megapotions are way more effective and honey is easy to grow (and basic potions can be bought). If 10 megas is not enough for you, then you should reconsider your strategy :D
I don't think I've ever even taken them lol, I've always had stockpile of the stuff :')
Thanks so much for this - as a new player to MH it was super useful having this more strategic overview of approaching hunts in general. Learnt loads!
bring akantor back
Abyssal Rayz akantor Ukanlos turf war
WARTHOGVANGUARD yeaah. that'd be dope
Nice profile pic or whatever it made your comment funny to me
Abyssal Rayz yeah they really need him back. Fuck lavasioth.
Black Panther pretty sure Agnaktor is the better version of Lavasioth, not Akantor.
Good advice on tempered kirin. Being patient and slowing down is what makes that fight a breeze for me.
Please make a video about environmental traps, how to use or activate them, that’s would be very informative
When there is an environmental trap like the vines or a rock just make the monster hit it with an attack and it will activate. When it comes to things like the little dam in the ancient forest reading the little note will mostly give you an idication on what to do when it comes to activating it
Miss Mercy how about that lava at elders and the spike rocks outside Vaal Hazak
There are multiple types of environmental objects:
1) Status traps, like paratoads.
Most of these I knew. But the fact that The Power/Armor charm and talon stack was new information, so thanks for that and good tipps!
I'm pretty sure I've sonic bombed Black Diablos plenty times while she was enraged. At least i think i do. Most of the time i'm just focusing on the hunt so i don't normally notice anything else.
I might have to test that out at a later point and edit this comment to confirm it.
You can sonic bomb them when enraged. I do it all the time. Really they changed that, to be honest.
Yea i thought so. Just tested it out just now and can indeed bomb them.
Minute time limit, 2 player hunt, 1 faint and you lose.... I don’t know what to do, he’s too hard! 😨
PlasmaWisp100 sleep bomb him
PlasmaWisp100 haha good luck
Practice and get better buddy!
Using rathalos bow worked for me. 12 minutes and I only got hit when he charged me. that’s just how I did it
Light bow gun, sleep ammo, sticky ammo, THUNDER MANTLE, normal ammo 3 and PATIENCE!!!
"When you hear the silence" - skill lvl 1 billion
Thank you Arekkz! All your videos are extremely helpful and this gives me more confidence to run and come back for more during Hunts haha!!
Lifepowders
Not flashing mounts
Carrying your weight instead of getting carried
Not ruining people's sleep bombing attempts
All of these and more will make you a better and well liked hunter
Also remember the 3 D's dip duck and dodge edit:also if you don't want to use your bombs why have them in the first place
John Weston I love people that use sleep or paralysis weapons gives me a moment to breath sharpen a weapon if needed or top off health a quick sec
Rebel Jakku but I gotta spam 🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺and🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵 tho
I still come back to this video every now and then, especially currently when I am just training on tempered monsters before tackling some tempered elder dragon investigations.
Thank you for the tips, as I was really struggling against Tempered Kirin, a monster that is really outside of my comfort zone. I may avoid to repeat this guy at least until getting an armor that can shrug off lightning without the cloak.
Me, with 960 hours of gameplay: *i n t e r e s t i n g*
This was super helpful, thank you! I began playing this game early this year, and have ~360 hours in, but I'm very new to combat games as a whole and I've been struggling to pick up on the cadence and thought process of a fight--what to look for, how to balance stats, etc. I actually didn't know some of the tips in here, like the screamer pod trick, for example. Very concise and great helpful footage!
160 hours in and I have never used an item loadout, only equipment one. KILL ME.
Hilariously I've clocked 200 hours and fall in the same fucking camp 😆
I think it was called iron carve but it's almost exclusively used against trolls like that.
exactly :(
I wouldn't say probably...
Hunting horn tutorial please
Awesome vid. Arekkz :). Little mounting tip: when you mount a monster and the monster start trying to shake or crash to get you off, simply just move to a different area (from head to back to tail) it takes you some stamina but it will give you more time to exhaust the monster and thus k.o.ing the monster quicker :D maybe lot of you know this but :D if somebody didn't its nice to now, and also you dont have to worry about bracing :) Have a good hunt!
Why waste a slot with steaks when you get rations in the box? When we get G difficulty then steaks will be a must
I know its a 2 years old comment
But
Haha, no
Steak is not a must even in master rank.
This is for greatsword users: when dodging while the weapon is sheated then attack you will do the ,,tackle" after that press circle or B to do a Medium attack, that when aimed right can attack a monsters head and bring you in its save Zone.
Don't flashpod mounted monsters. Seriously this is the biggest issue I see high rank players doing.
I would believe you, but your username is suspicious
Guns are easy mode. Try it with a melee weapon and lmk.
Please don't attack a monster that's sleeping! My sleep-bombing is rendered useless in multiplayer more often than I care for.
Sygmus6 Yeah, I'm sure not a lot of players know about sleep bombing
One tip I'll add gear wise is when you start getting into high rank, I recommend going for Ingot gloves. They come with vitality +2 and 1 level decoration slot. If by time you happen to have a vitality decoration you'll have 150 hp all the time and 200 when you eat.
doesn't Include tips on fishing rod -10/10 worst guide
Am new player in mhw and every guide I look for I find in your channel and you explain perfectly.... what a wonderful.
Keep up the good work.
how to be a better hunter? play bloodborne
Just enjoy the game y'all.
I haven't been this invested in getting better in a game since LoL. thanks for the video!
