I just spent a lot of money on a beautifully full pilea and I hung her in the kitchen. I don’t think she got enough sun. She is sickly, losing her lush color, and dropping leaves. I’m so sad. I put it outside this morning to see if that helps. I’ll bring her in later and repeat for a while. I’ll make sure she doesn’t get too much direct sunlight. I don’t want to stress her out anymore than she already is. Thank you!
I stumbled upon your channel in search for how to create a jungle-like atmosphere in my bedroom, and I'm hooked! I've only watched a few videos thus far and I'm a tad bummed I didn't find you sooner.
You are amazing but I have one question.. What do we do in the winter? I leave in Greece where it is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. (The lower it gets is 0°C ).. We should keep pilea close to the window in the winter or not? I am asking because as you can imagine in the winter the temperature affects the window and if you touch it, it's cold..
I dear friend I am ur nee subscriber. I watch this video Bcs I have 2 pileas for last one year. It was for sale from B&Q. For £.50p. Now I put them in concervatory and it start growing. Thank you for this useful video. And stay connected my friend . Hope you have a good day.
Thanks for some great tips that added to the usual advice. My pilea is small and struggling, it could be the lower light location so I'll give it a go closer to the window without direct sun 🌞 I also think a light meter would be helpful in my home which has some darker corners 😊
Glad to have found your channel!!! Enjoyed!! Every Pilea I’ve had has died. They’re expensive here in the US. A few days ago, I purchased one in bad condition because it was cheap. It had little leaves and was extremely droopy. My goal is to learn through trial and error and strive to renourish and nurture it. I’ll see. Willy sir your advice m!!
thank you! I went to water my tiny baby pilea this morning and found a few dropped leaves :( have placed it closer to the window so hopefully it'll perk up
I was just given a pilea that had been neglected and I'm trying to save it. It has lost many of its leaves and aside from the general tips you gave in this video (which were fantastic) do you have any tips on how to help a potentially near death pilea? :-) Thanks
Those elephant ears can grow in direct sunlight. Not sure how you got your yours that big. My sister's are huge outdoors. Beautiful plants and decor!!!
Thank you for talking about this! My medium-sized pilea's leaves (the new and the old ones, unfortunately) are dropping and strongly curling inwards... I think I might have watered it too much but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
@@assumenoform4833 Took it out of the pot, spotted root rott, trimmed it and repotted it. It's growing nicely now, though the leaves remain curled (even the new ones). I just kinda accepted that my pilea is weird.
I need help. Mine has dropped a lot of the bottom leaves/steams. Should I pot it all the way up to the next steam? I think I have it in poor light and have watered too much. I don’t want to lose it. Help! Please
Hey Luke, Is there any reason why the leaves are bright green to yellow green instead of dark green like yours? I only water mine when the soil is dry and the leaves are curled like a dome shape but they are not falling off the plant. And it keeps shooting off new leaves.
I use a natural spray (www.plantonic.sg) which you can use once a week. Maybe it’s too light? I just bought a seaweed liquid fertilizer, I haven’t tried it though. Do you have any recommendations on a good fertilizer to use? :)
I recommend a common fertiliser with a adequate amount of iron. I would feed it once a month during winter (maybe every 3 weeks if it does get a lot of light) and in summer every 7-10 days
Thank you for your advice! I found too much green low release fertilizer in soil near the roots. I report it in new soil without fertilizer, it’s grown up good now.

Brilliant and to the point. I tried to other utubes before and they were so long winded and not to the point. Thumbs up for you!
thank you!!:)
Great tips Luke! I also like to rotate my pilea every few days so that it grows evenly in a circular shape!
Thank you Janice! That’s a great tip as well!😊 thank you for commenting, as always!:-)

Wow ur plants are amazing!
Thank you Luke ! I like the way you explain ☺️
You’re very welcome Evelyn!😊
Me too, he explains in a clear and calming way.
Thank you! I think my baby can be saved 💚
Hi thanks for this video, I was wondering if the leaves of a watermelon peperomia droop down for the same reasons a pilea would?
What is the plant behind you with the huge paddle shaped leaves? It looks so beautiful!
It’s an elephant ear (Alocasia)! 😊😊
Those elephant ears can grow in direct sunlight. Not sure how you got your yours that big. My sister's are huge outdoors. Beautiful plants and decor!!!
What direction of light?? I see others say direct light will burn it
Mine has a few pumps, but I want to keep it big!
Thank you for talking about this! My medium-sized pilea's leaves (the new and the old ones, unfortunately) are dropping and strongly curling inwards... I think I might have watered it too much but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
what happened to it? im in the same boat

Thank you, so helpful 🌱
How do you treat rust on pilia
My pilea is sad and just got her. This is my second victim too. Really hope I can save this one. She’s wilting a lot and some brown on the ends.
It might just be shock from it's changed environment. They'll bounce back they just need to get accustomed to their new location.
I broke the one I have but new leaves are coming out but they don’t look healthy it’s a very small stem I’m afraid it’s not going to grow help
Where can I buy a Pilea plant. Mine is dying! I loved my plant to much!
I need help. Mine has dropped a lot of the bottom leaves/steams. Should I pot it all the way up to the next steam? I think I have it in poor light and have watered too much. I don’t want to lose it. Help! Please
I think mine isn’t getting enough light. I have no where to place it in front of my 2 windows, so I’ll have to figure something out.
My pilea is dropping leaves on the bottom but the top stick straight into the air! I don’t know what to do. The bottom 3 inches is just stem.
Thank you! This was great!
You’re welcome! 😊
Interesting video.keep going bro.....
So very helpful, thanks.
You’re welcome!😊
What bout food, foil type
My pilea has some curled leaves, is it normal? I really would love to keep it healthy.. Thank you for a helpful tips.
This should be okay if she gets new leaves :)
@@L93NB oh yes, she does) I got her about month ago with 6 leaves, now she got 13 ☺️
What does it mean when the leaves have yellow dots?
Lovely! Thank you for sharing😍

She might be a bit hungry, did you fertilise her regularly?:)

Where’d you get the water mister
I planted mine directly into a terra cotta. Is that ok? Or should I have kept it in the plastic pot??
No it’s totally fine :)
Thank you💜
What about nutrients for this plant?
I recommend a common fertiliser with a adequate amount of iron. I would feed it once a month during winter (maybe every 3 weeks if it does get a lot of light) and in summer every 7-10 days
@@L93NB - Worm castings or a liquid fertilizer?
I should have seen this earlier. It died today and I got only one of its pulp level which is also dying TT.
youre welcome 😊
Good
Mine is a tiny one but it’s now growing 😩😩😩
Is it ok if my plant has a brown spot on its leaf?
Yes this happens :)
I reported my plant and it’s dropping leaf 😭
How to treat a Pilea with yellow leaves?
Probably too much water.
Thank you for your advice! I found too much green low release fertilizer in soil near the roots. I report it in new soil without fertilizer, it’s grown up good now.
