    Such a cool mix of people! Makes you proud to be vegan for sure. I just got your cookbook and now I'm torn between saying I'm a tofu girl or a seitan girl, because honestly they are both totally essential to my mental and physical wellbeing. I think maybe tofu takes the trophy but only because it has the potential to make more desserts (and high-protein chocolate pudding is such a win). Thanks for sharing this! I'm looking forward to trying out new flavour combinations with the lupini bean seitan, by the way - the texture is amazing!!!!

    I will have to say I have more than one favorite. For breakfast I like to add the crunchy TVP two various fruits. My favorite protein by are my homemade meatless balls. Which is comprised mostly of vital wheat gluten for the protein and some tofu. My favorite way to eat tofu would be a scramble with nutritional yeast, with fire roasted salsa, onions tomatoes cilantro in a whole wheat tortilla. But usually not since I eat too much of it before it makes it into the tortilla

  • @katlz6649

    hi! in my case TVP is the most versatile and cheap source of protein. although I really really love tofu, is my favourite, but is too expensive where I live, and soy beans ar too rare and hard to find, so tvp is my way to add more protein to my meals when I'm not eating just legumes 💚

      If you’re completely new to both: Start slow with low-impact exercises and strength training, which is key for preserving & building muscle. Stay hydrated, listen to your body, and join a supportive community for accountability & motivation!

    what do i do, when I can't digest any beans, lentils and chikpeas? All of it gives me a heavy really painful bloating and all fermented variations make my tounge go numb, just like soysauce and some kinds of cheese and pineapple, it seems to be an allergie. I tied soaking and sproating lentils and chikpeas but it doesn't help. I'm also allergic to gluten. I felt very weak and tried a keto-diet because of glucose-spikes. Skipping all those beans, cereals and sugars i felt better, but developed cravings for eggs. I tried carefully, because every time I had egg for breakfast with bread, it had the same effekt like beans. But now, without the bread, I can digest the eggs... but thats not very vegan. I also tried cheshews. I like them a lot, but I cannot eat a lot of nuts because they make me tired. By now, I tried all sorts of diets with smoothies, raw, fermented...I just don't find a way to stick with vegan and feel good.

      Not sure what makes you think that. We have plenty of low carb protein sources. There’s so many combinations you can make to keep things lower carb if that what you’re into.
      Plant Protein Powder: Carbs: 2-5g, Protein 25g
      Tofu (firm): Carbs: 2-5g, Protein 14-25g

    Sorry but this guy claiming all his joint pain went away from two weeks of being vegan doesn’t help the cause much.
    “…worked better than all my other supplements.”
    We know that unhealthy tissue requires scalable stimulus to recover, it’s little to do with this vague notion of chronic inflammation.
    I’m sure the guy is doing some great work outside questionable statements like that, though (going to follow, in fact.)

      @MrNiche95
      Tofu has been a staple of human nutrition for over 4000 years, the process of making it is as follows:
      1. Soak the beans
      2. Mash the beans
      3. Cook the beans
      4. Firm up the beans by adding some salts.
      Which part of that process do you think makes the beans unfit for consumption?
