The most inspring "30 Day challenge" video ever! Wow, so much determination and dedication! Huge respect for everything you have achieved; as a chef, as a vegan natural pro bodybuilder, as a content creater and as a fitness coach! Just blown away every time. New challenge idea for you? Go for it! It’s fun to try new things. Challenge yourself in different ways. I never thought I would enjoy this. Im so glad I did it.
Love this!! For the ripping hands thing- pumice stone in the shower every night. It’s gentle but keeps your calluses in check. Ripping happens more at the beginning when your hands aren’t used to it. It may also be a good idea to try out different bars with your pull-ups. I find that I don’t rip when I use a speal bar. Try it if your gym has them. The different textured bar sometimes make a difference.

I've been doing crossfit and olympic lifting for a year and a half, my hands have never stopped ripping. They've gotten better and the calluses have made it better. But it never changed. I love this challenge though. You did amazing (I still can't do double unders or muscle ups but I've been focused on oly lifting more).
Keep it up 🙌🏽 you got this girl! Yeah, the dubs came quick after practicing them straight for 30 days… today I did 25 in a row. I was pretty stoked.🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 Progress 💪🏽
I need to do like you and practice more Olympic lifting because that’s my biggest weakness.
For the rips in your hands you can take vitamin E capsules and cut them open. Put them on your hands at night. You can wear gloves or socks on your hands and it will help heal the rips faster.

Previous competitive gymnast here: DONT USE LOTION ON YOUR HANDS!! It softens your hands and makes them prone to ripping more. When our calluses got to big we would shave them down. We would use athletic tape & new skin on our rips. Your hands will eventually get used to it and in the beginning you’ll get more rips than usual.

I would look at bar muscle up basics. Hollow body to the bar, strong kip swing. Technique and strength is a big component to getting these movements.

How fun! I’ve dabbled in CrossFit, tried it for the first time in 2010 (before it was cool) but it gave me a great base for lifting! The classes were so small because it was so new and I learned so much. It provided me a great base of knowledge regarding mobility as well which is crucial for anyone that works out. Personally not a fan of group workouts but it’s nice to have someone formulate for you haha 😂

Ok I love this I’ve been doing CrossFit Ab yes my core has doubled in size! Can you please share what moves you might avoid? I’ve always done Pilates with CrossFit now I’m doing extra cardio to make this thick core to go away! I love your back ground it’s so awesome that you know how to juggle that
17:47 the hand ripping issue is the biggest reason that I do not do CrossFit or rock climbing. I don’t know why, but I just absolutely cannot stand the feeling of rough hands.
I guess it doesn’t happen as much the more you get used to it and learn how to properly grip. I love rock climbing too, so much fun. I don’t think you should limit yourself to doing something you want based on that.
It wouldn't surprise me if bodybuilding prepared you more for muscle-ups than crossfit. Although crossfit is tons of fun, it may not be optimal for specific exercises/ goals and may cause a bit more atrophy (from more cardio etc). Whereas, bodybuilding is all about hypertrophy. In my experience bodybuilding combined with sprint training as my cardio made me a much better all-round athlete than crossfit. Crossfit made me good at crossfit. I'm glad you had so much fun! Loved the video! Do you get bruised up on your cleans and snatches? I do and wonder if I'm doing something wrong lol. Also, what sound machine do you have? I like how compact it is!
No, I haven’t gotten bruise with cleans and snatches… but to be fair I’m still learning so my weights are pretty pretty light. Sometimes I use the 15 pound bar just to practice technique.

About an hour prior I have a big bowl of protein oats with fruit, protein waffles, cream of rice, or vegan yogurt with fruit 🩵
After doing CrossFit for many years, now I’m trying bodybuilding 😂. I’m loving bodybuilding but still fit in CrossFit like one to two times a week…. It was nice for you to share your experience ❤
Lol it’s fun to switch it up🙌🏽 I think you can definitely do both. Like I mention in the video targeting the muscle groups that are not isolated in CrossFit is key. Like: Rear delts, glutes, and horizontal pulls. so if you add those as accessory movements into your training, you can do both😃
I used to do CrossFit then in the back go do my own lifts but I never really hit the delts

Try a class! Most gyms have a free trial🩵 you don’t need to do a pull up. They will give you an appropriate scale so you can eventually build up to them🩵
You do NOT need a pull up first!!!

I had a great time climbing up. The second I looked down from the top my life flashed before my eyes. I literally had to climb all the way back down as people shouted “just let go! 🤦🏾”

I think CrossFit would get rid of the side delts I’ve busted my butt to get. But I think it would improve my core strength and muscular endurance.

Did you find you lost your body building shape. I know you gain strength 100%. But the shape is very different. I did both too
I shared my body composition results at the end🩵 I did not see any significant changes after a month. I still have my “bodybuilding shape”. 🙌🏽 I will continue to balance both 💪🏽
