I love how you edited the pickleball footage. The slow mo’s, the hardcore sounding music, and the occasional “plink” of the paddles hitting the ball. 😂
I’ve been watching your videos on repeat and hoping for one like this. It makes me feel motivated and less alone as I am a woman looking to build muscle on a vegan diet. Thanks Derek and Crystal. I appreciate your work and an extra shout out to Crystal for her participation. You two are an inspiration!

God I love your videos! All I've done since being vegan is worry about all the animals suffering and haters and after 2 years I'm still crap at responding to people. You two are soooo positive, you make my brain relax😂
So happy to see Crystal's meals too 🤩 I love all your videos but am definately a fan of seeing Crystals day of eating, makes me so happy to see another person that would just eat the same meal twice in one day 😅 💚
Since I've been composting and using that dirt my veggies have been growing so good. And all I did was get a new trash can with a lid and put it on my deck. Put a little dirt in it with all my veggie scraps etc and try to stir it about once a day. So easy.
Yes! I love that Crystal's meals are not "perfect looking", but very practical. I would love to see more of what Crystal eats on the regular, just as a fellow female who is still fairly new to working out and trying to gain more muscle while losing fat. Where does one get those soy curls? I've not seen those at my grocery stores in Seattle... I may need to pick some up when I visit Vancouver!

Just a tip: anytime you are replanting/repotting something, dig your fingers up in the soil and roots at the bottom of the plant and spread it all out, then replant it. It helps it grow easier. Love your videos! And yep, am totally Team Crystal on this one. lol
Oh oh - Nasturtium flowers are edible, but the Nasturtium is also an excellent "companion plant" for herb gardens - they attract slugs and insects to feast on them instead of your herbs, AND they repel a whole bunch of beasties from your garden in general! Companion planting is a great concept to look into - like planting Hyssop and oregano next to tomato plants, or echinacea and lavender next to cucumber! Really enjoyed this video, as always. Appreciate the "day in the life"!
I agree! I found the same last year with nasturtiums in my permaculture gardens. Companion planting is so effective, I'm doing the same not only in my raised garden, but in my container garden as well on my balcony.
heyy, so my mom is rlly good at keeping herbs and she gave me a great tip: split the herbs that u get from the store into 2 or even 4 parts and wash the dirt off the roots before you plant them into new soil. and if it gets windy where u live, make sure to give them some sort of wind shield so they don’t get damaged.
Hahah! I JUST bought a brand new car for the first time ever in my life (I am 40!) My old car was a 2014, but still had a good Ole CD player... there is nostalgia for those old CDs, especially one you mixed for yourself, ha! Love you guys ❤
Honestly, you guys seem like the nicest people and you are the cutest couple and your recipes are on point. I made Crystal’s peanut butter chocolate pie for my husband‘s birthday way back in April and it was just a huge hit with everybody.
Your morning smoothly had a pretty green color. I haven't started my garden yet either, it's been to rainy.looks like I'm going to buy plants this yr. Your herb garden sounds good. Looking forward to watching you eat those flowers- I can't do that yet. I'm with you, Chrystal, fix enough for several days of leftovers. My husband doesnt like them either. God bless you both from grandma Katie in Oregon
You guys crack me up … great video. Your videos are some of the only ones I can watch without wanting to fast forward to the foods … good vibes all around
You guys rock! The cat getting her vit d priceless. The fact the two of you are hungry to eat as you do, and still maintain your physical appearance is amazing. Cheers to you both.
Thanks for sharing what each of you tends to eat. We have a smoothie every single morning. We make ours with lots of leafy greens (usually kale but also spinach, chard, or carrot tops), often a whole orange (or apple), plus we change up the other frozen fruit so the other frozen fruit we rotate is: frozen mango, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, mixed berries, or sometimes raspberries. Our smoothies go in a bowl and my husband loves topping his with my homemade granola. We don't eat any processed food so we never add powders and such. I love that you grow a garden.

Carrots are extremely fragile babies. They won’t be able to get thru your mulch. I sprinkle them lightly on moist soil then cover with a board to keep them from drying out. Check daily (after several days). When you see them sprouting remove the board. Hope that helps. 😊

Thanks for a great video! I don't know if I needed validation or what, but it's nice to see a couple that has separate meals to their own preferences and kinda does their own thing most of the time. My husband and I each cook different meals and eat at different times for the last couple years and I still see so many traditional setups where one person (usually the woman) does the shopping, then cooks a lot, and everyone eats at the same time at a sit down breakfast/dinner that I feel like I've been transported back to the 50s and begin to feel a bit weird about my life...
This is 1000% the video I needed to see. I was literally JUST wondering about what Crystal eats. And as much as I love watching Derek work his vegan wizardry every day I'm like Crystal and LOVE leftovers and having something quick and easy always ready. Love this video! I think it's so important to see and explore different ways of eating. I was hooked on smoothies for the longest time, but my digestion was terrible and I never thought to change it until I saw an Ayruvedic practioner.
