How is it regarding play in the knobs and the hansle when pulling the handle away from the reel in the main axle direction? Almost all reels have it, but my Curado M doesnt. And the Coastal just tiny. Not something you feel when fishing but it is noticeable when holding it in hand and is for me somewhat of a quality measure, if they spend time on this it wouldnt exist. The drag star is actually aluminum alloy on this reel according to Pescifun themselves maybe they upgraded it to aluminum alloy recently probably after seeing your review I don't know but it's not plastic anymore according to them.
only time will tell whether the $99 price tag is worth it or not. everyone thought kastking was good shit because they had cheap “quality” reels. except every KK I ever owned ended up destroyed within the first 6mos of owning it. these big swimbait reels take a beating. throwing those heavy baits all day puts a ton of wear and tear on them. but i’m definitely interested to see if it’ll hold up or not. I might have to pick one up.
I have been a big fan of Piscifun reels for awhile now. I have the Torrent, Flame, Alloy M and Alijos. I discovered my first real "gripe" with the Alijos yesterday. While fishing inshore, the reel got dunked in saltwater. When I got home I rinsed it very well with freshwater but decided I needed to make darn sure that ALL saltwater was out of the gears. I'm sure there's a way to get to those gears, but I sure can't figure it out! Every other casting reel I've ever owned has been a matter of taking a few screws out and taking the crank side off, rinse, dry and re-lube. This Alijos looks like you've got to break the entire reel down to get it off! If I'm wrong, please advise!
I bought him, yesterday they bring him, it's a great reel, very smooth and very strong, i paid 63 euro's, for such a incredible reel, i'm very glad with it!👍👍👍
I believe the spool re-engage is for stuff like pitching into cover, where you're punching (punch-shotting) a heavy lure into cover and then twitching it (where you don't want to accidentally pull the lure back towards you when you turn the handle to re-engage). Between each pitch you'll burn the bait back to re-pitch at a different spot. Doing that at a high frequency benefits from that one-handed operation)
First thanks for doing this vid can't wait for the next Piscifun Alijos vid. To answer your question the most popular swimbait low profile reels are the Tranx and Lexa depending on what fanboy base you talk to. Piscifun Alijos is used a lot but doesn't get the credit if deserves. You will find that salt water fisherman tend to use the Alijos more then the others. This Alijos will soon climb to the Top in the future I feel
I own a Lexa 300 & 400hd and this Alijos is every bit as good. It’s a phenomenal reel and I have caught some big snook on it. The hamai cut gears are awesome. Take this apart and compare the guts it’s a solid reel
I'm no fanboy but I've used everything and the shimanos aren't as good as ppl say. The tranx performs great don't get me wrong. But if you're catching huge drag pulling fish that will heat your gears and drag up they won't last long. I've stripped the drags on 12 to 15lb hybrid stripers. But you want a swimbait reel that proforms good and lasts long no matter what you catch then there's only one real choice. The Abu Garcia revo toro beast. Bull sharks can't strip the drags on those reels.
A few of the Abus have that button near the thumb bar and they call it the rocket clutch. Abu has said it is to aid in one handed operation and it is highlighted in some of their saltwater jigging reels. I have it in an Orange Max and rarely use it while jigging. Can't see when ud use it for swimbaiting and in fact it could lead to disaster if you accidentally engage it in the middle of cast. Still a great deal.

It appears to me that the curado is the best selling reel I may be wrong but all the other ones are easy to find but the curado is hell trying to find anywhere it just show up on bass pro again but it was no where to be found for a while was almost about to make me switch to the diawa 300 I am definitely getting a piscifun reel as well but I'm gonna use that one for cat fish cause I usually always use a abu Garcia for cat fish but every Abu Garcia reel I have owned has broke
Thank you for great advice and info. I want to buy a versatile casting reel for about 50 dollars. I live in South Africa and will buy from Aliexpress for the first time. I see that they have a big variety of piscifun and kastking reels. I wonder if you can advise me on which one to buy please.
I'd suggest buying a good used reel. It's better to buy a used $100 reel for $50 than to buy a brand new $50 reel for $50. I bought an Abu Garcia max Toro on eBay for $65 and it costs $150 new. And it is just like new. Way better than the reel in this video.
You will see.. later.. I filmed the unboxing of the Pro SP and when I was doing my inspection I saw a paint chip. So Im going to send it back and try to get an exchange. I did weigh the spool though lol. From what I saw it should be BFS capable no problem.
Looks like a good starter reel but I'd recommend paying $50 more bucks for an Abu Garcia max Toro. Better internals that will outlast this reel ten times over. I've caught everything on mine. Huge muskie and stripers. Hybrids and giant largemouth are nothing for the max toro. Although if you've got the extra cash there's no better big baitcaster than the revo toro beast. You can get them on eBay now for under $300 bucks which is a steal for how great the reel is.
@@ethanliess4203 you're wrong this cheap made crap certainly won't last a fraction of the life you get from an Abu Garcia especially the big series reels like the Toro. I've fished for 40 years kid I know what works and what doesn't and these cheap reels looks good and work as long as there's no load put on them by big fish and since most of you never caught big trophy fish I guess it'll do fine for you. The real proof that this is a bargain is if it holds up. The features are great, but will it keep tolerances and smoothness after a few seasons use and some heavy fish on line. That's where SOME of the more expensive reels shine. (For instance those old Calcuttas just seem to keep on going and going) Only time out fishing will tell... Still at $100 it might be worth taking the plunge.
I ordered one off Amazon and it legit shipped in the product packaging not sealed up or in a amazon box. Needless to say I got an empty box from piscifun. I bought 12 Piscifun reels from Aliexpress and never had a single problem! Also, Piscifun usually get your orders to you between 14-18 days versus 3-5 weeks with other stuff that you ordered through Aliexpress.
@@grandwonder5858 Yea. I am starting to notice Aliexpress is more reliable in terms of getting a quality item than Amazon. With Amazon, you really have to check, sometimes you get used items because so many A-holes swap them for new ones in Amazon. Just freaking annoying. One time I had to return 3 things back to Amazon because they were broken and defective.
This company impresses me more every review I see. I've been trying to avoid these 'Chinese" companies but when you really compare apples to apples, especially Piscifun to other makers, they seem to be offering better quality (buck for buck) than just about anyone! In fact, if you compare the guts of the Phantom with the guts of an Abu Garcia revo x, you'll see a lot more plastic in the Abu! (Which is now made in China if I'm not mistaken!) Piscifun which I previously had no respect for & called them "PissyFun" has/is changing the game IMHO!
Yup. I ignore this brand for a while because I just think it's another cheap generic brand. But then I notice many fishermen uses the Piscifun Alijos at my local fishing pier. So that change my perspective because these hardcore fishermen knows their gears. So I decided to give it a try and bought a Piscifun Phantom due to it's specs and I'm very impressed with it. And I also bought the Alijos, the one with lower gear ratio. It's a beast.
Here's my review. I pre ordered it. Used it about 4 days throwing light square bills on 10lbs. The thumb bar started to fail and stick down. I own many piscifun reels. Love them all besides the spark
I bought the Piscifun Phantom and all 3 versions of the Phantom X. I was initially impressed, but that didn't last long. The braking system is useless in the rain and will deteriorate after only a few months rendering the reels useless just with moderate use, even in dry conditions. A Shimano or Diawa may be twice the price but will last you years and consistently perform well.
@@ubeseyo I found the same issue. If you keep cleaning the braking ring and the brake shoes and very lightly oil them it will improve for a while. However it needs to be done several times a session and will only deteriorate as time goes on and the plastic brake shoes become more worn.
@@neilrobinson7615 interesting. I use my Phantom for my frog Rod. Even if it goes this year for the $70 I paid for it 2 or 3 years is worth it for what I have gotten out of it. So far zero issues thankfully

You can probably find a used Abu Garcia revo x for $50 and those are awesome reels that will last and never break.
Is the Lews Pro SP SLP "skipping" reel really a BFS in disguise?
100 hundred percent will not iut last this reel 10 times over. It won’t even out last 1 time over
@@ethanliess4203 you're wrong this cheap made crap certainly won't last a fraction of the life you get from an Abu Garcia especially the big series reels like the Toro. I've fished for 40 years kid I know what works and what doesn't and these cheap reels looks good and work as long as there's no load put on them by big fish and since most of you never caught big trophy fish I guess it'll do fine for you. But I require better equipment for my level of experience
TranX 300 & 400 size is one of the most wanted in swimbait world :)
I just brought for 89.00 with a 10.00. Off
I hope it's s good baitcaster.
I GOT THE TORRENT AND 300 BEST REEL FOR THE MONEY , PLANNING TO GET THE 200 AND 400 IN THE FUTURE
Would love if you can review 2020 conquest DC HG in either 100 or 200. I literally cant find anything in English
maybe one day
Just got one last night. $85 free shipping with 15% off code on website.
My baitcaster broke I go bass fishing is that meant for bass fishing
I got one Monday 👍haven’t fished it yet but have cast it in a field. Man this thing flies.
Set the mags on 2 and a 2 oz sinker and I can almost spool the whole thing. lol 😂
@@BoandBeceadventures what line do you use for 2oz sinker?
@@joannayuan6869 35# gorilla brade. You can tow a truck with this stuff. It is hard to find anymore though. I have been getting in on amazon. i have a video of a good long cast on my UA-cam page. I absalutely 100% love this reel.
I did get a refund for what I paid for it so looks like I’m just gonna go get an abu Garcia c3. I love my c4 but just wanted to get a low pro that isn’t 250 plus
One time I had to return 3 things back to Amazon because they were broken and defective.
sir, can u make a video comparison SLX DC 150 and SLX DC 70 please. HELLO from Malaysian ✌🏻
Absolutely. I compared this Alijos to my Lexa 300 HD and it’s made just as well and actually casts further than my Lexa at half the price
It's a beast.
free floating spool? i couldnt tell, you never spun it
Right now on ali express Spain, 58€, wich means 70$!! Just ordering an 8 ratio for all my hi speed swimbaits.
How about the TranX 200 🎄
Do a review on the spark
He did one awhile back, didn't he?
thats coming up in a couple of weeks
Here's my review. I pre ordered it. Used it about 4 days throwing light square bills on 10lbs. The thumb bar started to fail and stick down. I own many piscifun reels. Love them all besides the spark
So when is the giveaway?
Wait? Is it over?
Damn
not yet, its happening the 1st week in January
Thank god
I love piscifun reels
Me too! When I need a reel I always look at what Piscifun has first before I check other brands! That’s how much I love their reels!
Does this reel have a baitclicker?
No. It's not made for live bait.
If you want a baitclicker get an ambassador 6500 c3.
Also for about $10 you can get carbon drag washers for the c3 to give it as good of drag power as the swimbait reels like the one in this video.
Looks like a daiwa lexa 300/400 cc
Nice reel I would like to see it in action 🐟
Yhe scale said 11.18 not10.18
I bought the Piscifun Phantom and all 3 versions of the Phantom X. I was initially impressed, but that didn't last long. The braking system is useless in the rain and will deteriorate after only a few months rendering the reels useless just with moderate use, even in dry conditions. A Shimano or Diawa may be twice the price but will last you years and consistently perform well.
I have an issue with my phantom. It over brakes and cant get any distance. This is with only 1 or 2 brakes on.
@@ubeseyo I found the same issue. If you keep cleaning the braking ring and the brake shoes and very lightly oil them it will improve for a while. However it needs to be done several times a session and will only deteriorate as time goes on and the plastic brake shoes become more worn.
My Phantom is 2 years old and zero issues with it. The X I have heard nothing but bad things about so can't speak for that one
@@makcatchem9614 My Phantom out lasted the Xs, but eventually the brakes went the same way as the Xs. Useless in rainy conditions.
@@neilrobinson7615 interesting. I use my Phantom for my frog Rod. Even if it goes this year for the $70 I paid for it 2 or 3 years is worth it for what I have gotten out of it. So far zero issues thankfully
Best swimbait reel Diawa lexa win HD
The Abu Garcia revo toro beast beats them all. Use one and you'll see why. Lasts longer than the rest as well.
Good reel but wish it had a clicker
It looks too much like the Daiwa Fuego CT 🤐
fuego ct is a good looking reel though
@@THEREELTEST Oh yes it is. I actually have one.
You can probably catch some small tuna on this reel
One is a shimano the other is a brand no one has ever heard of unless you’re looking for a cheap bait caster online someone times you gotta pay for things your want
On your opening it’s 100% right ❤️❤️❤️✝️✝️✝️
"Alijos" in Spanish means "stash"
How's it pronounced then? A-lee-hos?
@@clariidfisherman3702 With the accent on "lee," as "ah-LEE-hos."
I have a stash of Piscifun reels! 6 of them to be exact!
I care less about the finish & trim package and more about the internals, 1/2 way through the video and we havnt discussed anything inside the reel
Jeez, the reel is presented as if the only thing you can do with this reel is swimbait fish. This thing could be used for just about any freshwater or inshore applications and a bunch of offshore scenarios as well.
Lol 33 pounds of drag and a couple more bearings always = a better reel! hehe
Emailed you a question, try to get back to me if possible
No clicker which sucks if you bank fish and boat fish.
Butyfull baitcasting Reels
Don't like the frame shape. Too flat and curved, unlike the cool angular frames we have now. Looks very simple. Very much like early 2000's baitcasters like the Curado 50
And it’s now $160 😭
REEL ARSENAL
It said 11.18 ounce get glasses
coz mono sucks thats why xD zero feeling 2 much strege etc
Am I the only one who thinks this reel looks like a turd?
I was kinda thinking the same thing
Yep,it’s cool looking for $100 bucks especially if it’s saltwater ready
You're in the minority obviously. The HG version is definatelly more slick looking tho
Don’t kid yourself it’s a turd. That Curado will still be working long after that paper weight dies
worst background music ever
