I like your review. Excellent presentation. The only issue that most reviews don't cover is the longevity in saltwater. I fish in southern FLA (3-4 times/week), saltwater totally. On most reels that say they are saltwater don't hold up over time. I'm very meticulous on cleaning my reels after each use. I back the drag and tension knob off and thoroughly clean with garden hose followed by blowing the water out with air compressor. I periodically spray with Boeshield T-9 rust preventive. I've found T-9 to be extremely corrosion resistant.
In the past, I bought the more expensive reels, $150+ but saltwater has taught me that it's not worth the extra $$$ so I go with the cheaper reels.
    Any comments?

My first Baitcast/Reel combo was the Piscifun Torrent, after all these years is still riding with me in the trunk of my car and use it almost everyday pond hopping before I get home from work. Excellent product for the price. I remember I broke the tip of the rod (my fault) and customer service replaced the rod with a brand new one no questions ask. This happened over 5 years ago and still going strong. The reel, all I do is keep it clean and lubricated still performs like new. I have a couple more of their reels and have not been disappointed. Great honest review. been waiting for amazon to sell the 8:1 Gear Ratio one, the don't have it yet.

@@phytobedo what would consider is the limit of the reel in regards of bait weight and comfort.
I have the alijoz for bigbait but it’s also quite heavy . Fishing it with my 100-150g rod.
I am looking more for something for baits 60g-100g max.
The Alijoz is too large and heavy for a rod and baits in that range I would say.
My question is if you think the alloy m is made for a rod with 60-100g rod or is it‘s limit at baits of max 60g ?
The rod you are using has a max casting weight of 40g.

I don’t think the reel has much to do with bait weight, that would be more dependent on the rod.

I’ve been fishing for over 4 Decades and used a lot of different Brands and I think I’m going to try Piscifun for a while, it’s hard to describe to People how smooth these Reels are, from 1/4 ounce to 1/2 ounce weight is like Butter.. I’m not sure about longevity like a Shimano but if it said “Shimano” on the side the way it performs now it would be 300 bucks lol… Stay safe my Friend Semper Fidelis

What pound test were you using? How easy was it to set up the spool tension? what number did you have it on to not get backlash? I noticed when I received my reel that the line weight for mono and braid are flipped for what is written on the box. The box says 20lb braid and 7lb mono but on the bottom of the reel it say 7lb braid and 20lb mono.

It’s more corrosion resistant? I’d say that’s unlikely! The best chance you’ll have against corrosion with these cheap reels would be with a composite or plastic one! All the other components are pretty much the same! Fasteners and bearings will rust and the frame will corrode in time! Unless it’s heavily anodised the paint will scratch or the corrosion will start at the contact point’s with dissimilar metals

It was from the line slapping against that weird texture of the rod blank. That odd cross grain that rod has destroys your line during casts or other contact.

Drag ratings on reels are no way precise because the reels gear ratio has a strong effect. A reel with a 8:1 gear ratio will have less drag than the same reel model with a 6:1 gear ratio. The less line on the spool will increase the drag of a real.

It really just comes down to each person's individual fishing style and preference. But, that wasn't the point. The point was you blatantly saying that a magnetic system is sub par. Which is EXACTLY why I posted about the Piscifun needing more than a magnetic system that was developed in the 80's.
