I always thought the recount was for this reason: Coffee shop manager: 'So, who won the free muffins for life contest?' Employee: 'John Dorian. He had the exact right number.' Manager: 'Hm, okay. How old is he?' Employee: 'I dunno. Like 30 or so?' Manager: 'Who came in second?' Employee: 'Bob Kelso. He was off by two.' Manager: 'And how old is he?' Employee: 'Not sure. Like 65 or something, I'm guessing.' Manager: '... yea, you're gonna wanna switch those around. Kelso won, Dorian lost. Just tell em we did a recount or something.'
I honestly don't know what I find stranger... The fact that Kelso was hiding just out of frame, _waiting_ for JD to question who won the contest in his place. The fact that this episode came out around the time the Deathly Hallows was published...or sometime later, according to Carla. Or the fact that Kelso would even _read_ the Harry Potter novels. Pretty sure he'd be too busy comparing all the characters to his gay son.
The muffin man is seated at the table in the laboratory of the utility muffin Research kitchen... reaching for an oversized chrome spoon he gathers an Intimate quantity of dried muffin remnants and brushing his scapular aside Procceds to dump these inside of his shirt... He turns to us and speaks: Some people like cupcakes better. I for one care less for them!
You know what I find hilarious the one person who wins free muffins for life. Of all the people who work at that hospital who are a debt up to their eyeballs working 12 to 16 hour shifts a day who are barely making enough money to go bot get by in life. The man who has to win free muffins for life is Bob Kelso The chief of medicine. FYI the chief of medicine makes between 300 to 500 thousands dollars a year. To him a muffin costs a penny to everyone else a muffin costs $2.50 so yeah the richest man winning this bugs me.
I used to work in a coffee shop and we always had to throw away the muffins at the end of the day. And it alwyas reminded me of Dr. Kelso (because I can)... anyway, that scene was one of the best...
