This is really a microcosm of their relationship as a whole in the hospital when it comes to patient care and administrative decisions. Kelso knows what Cox is doing and wants Cox to challenge him and push back against what Kelso thinks he has to do.

Kelso eating trash cake is even worse than George Costanza eating a trash eclair. At least that was on a doily, Kelso had to scrape the trash off the cake before he made his way back into it.

Besides, seeing you rooting through the garbage and scraping it off that monument to gluttony is a moment I will cherish forever.

I need a Dr. Cox in my life. This diet looks like it might actually work for me.
I also feed my friends kids carbohydrates when their parents aren’t around.
That's good because they need that. And I am serious.
It's called food.
Honestly, I let almost no one watch my kids because I don't trust most of them not to break my rules.
Not that my kids can't have carbs, carbs are a necessary part of the diet, my kids aren't allowed specifically to have pop (I don't drink it either, it doesn't even enter my house because that would be hypocritical) and we're careful about the amount of sweets they have in one sitting (aside from being a less strict at like Christmas and birthdays etc)
However I know for a fact my grandmother believes firmly in "letting kids be kids" as a teen living with her she literally let me eat ANYTHING I wanted and taught me NOTHING about portion sizes or why it isn't healthy to eat a giant bag of chips in one sitting.
I'm a big believer in following the parents rules, not your kids, not your decision.
I really don't remember this episode. I would definitely remember a cake like that, I never forget a cake!
I like how Dr Cox is practically shouting his patient's status to everyone in the room. Ever heard of patient confidentiality?
He doesn't mention his name, nor any distinguishing features, so he's generally in the clear from a legal POV. Still not necessarily good form, but when was that ever a concern for him?

Trash food, the most bittersweet of all foods. I have definitely done this more than once myself, usually with the food still in some sort of packaging though... Worst I ever did was pull out a pizza box with some slices left in it . Kelso is at another level.
