What really gets me is, Perry didnt magically learn to tolerate her ramblings, he still hates them, to death, and you can see it. Yet he still commits to helping a patient. That makes him so much a superhero, and also so human, its kind of amazing.

      He cares a lot.
That's why he stopped "Barbie" Elliot from going on a date and taking care of a patient herself, instead of another guy, who did not know the procedure.
That's why he became depressed when he lost patients to rabies and also he gets into fights with Kelso because of the patients and more.
He was consequent whenever someone was lazy and ignorant (like Ed), because his Job is to make sure people stay alive

I love the way Dr. Cox seems like such a militant-minded leader who can suppress his emotions but for some reason, the most heart-felt scenes seem to include or revolve around him. Scrubs has the best characters and some of the best writing.

This is why everyone really loves Dr Cox. We all know that he was dealt a terrible hand with his father beating him when he was a child. Perry saw so much suffering in the world that he choose to become a doctor, so that he could try and reduce the suffering by just a little bit, but he needed his ego and arrogance to protect him from what he sees every day, which is innocent people suffering and dying whilst he tries to save them.
Cox may be a jerk to the majority of people, but that's the only way he can survive the world that keep dealing him these terrible hands, but at the end of the day, he will always make the right call to advance the push to reduce the suffering.

This video represents exactly 1/2 of why this was the finest show on television.
When you weren't busy laughing to the point where you couldn't breath (the other half), something serious would happen, like this video demonstrates, to give you a window into misery: the patients, the health care providers, and the health care providers relationships, in addition to said health care provider's humanity.

THIS is why I love Scrubs so much... It faces the tragedy that happens around us every day. There are other comedy series that I like, but Scrubs is so amazing because it reminds me of MASH sometimes. It blends humor and silliness with love and loss and fear and sadness.
Scrubs is one of those magic shows that can have you giggling one moment and sobbing the next. I've seen the entire series a dozen times and I never tire of it.

This draws parallels with planes, trains and automobiles, when someone is overly chatty to a point where they are annoying, but it is simply because inside they are hurting so so bad.

It loses it's touch by adding "that's actually why I became one." They could've said much more by actually saying less. We know that's why.
