@@AngelWings1983 I am aware I’m of Indian origin too and I live in the Bay Area. I meant let us use South Asians instead of just Indians because the Paks, Banglas and Sri Lankans are just as susceptible to this awful genetics as us Indians!
Us Indians and American Indians especially Tamil speaking have been following Dr Pal’s channels in you tube for ages now. He is gastroenterologist practicing in Sacramento CA! Lucky patients! I live in the Bay Area and would love him to be my dr
I have listened to many podcasts and usually they do not mention so much details eg the gut as Dr Pal does. Excellent podcast very informative. Greetings from Turkey. I love India, I lived there during the 1970s.
Nice to hear that and love from india ! INDIA is not only a country but an ancient civilisation !which has survived for last 5000 years !It is home to hindu and buddist philosophies ( i dont call them religions) it has ancient system of medicine that is AYURVEDA, And of exercise that is YOGA which are popular worldwide ! I wish you learn and spread that knowledge in your own society thats very helpful !
Fabulous podcast! Yes it takes effort to record what you’re eating for two weeks but it’s an eye opener to how much food you eat in a day and where the majority of calories come from in your diet. I personally follow the 80/20 rule. Eat 80 % of the food on the plate and leave 20 % behind no matter how healthy the food is to not be overly satiated but comfortable full.
Hi doc... shocking that you had an attack... good that you have come out of that ❤i follow you gutman and try to do my best every day.... thank you so much 🙏
I absolutely loved this podcast. Love his humour and love his voice. And even though I’m a white Canadian girl, I took so much away from it. Lol! Thank you!
Hi Dr Pal I follow all your series and share with my children and in my status You are so natural and put all your interviewees at ease Love your laughter I am 81 yrs a retired Hospital Matron and am still learning and am happy to share to all in my circle God bless you and your lovely family for their support in your podcasts 😂 ❤
While I really appreciate the information given by other experts on this show, their approach is mostly focussed on restricting on all foods except meat. What I like about this Doc's approach is that he focuses on improving your gut biome and improving your insulin senstivity so you can eat a variety of real foods and can get back to eating normal foods. With the other approach, especially for somebody like me, you begin to wonder what you can actually eat
Don’t forget Indians in South America and the Caribbean have the same genetic and have the same problem. And we have a similar diet of high carbs and low protein intake. And we consume lots of alcohol as well.
Thank you for this video! I do wish you had talked some about alcohol. During the high stress periods of life, alcohol seems beneficial, but is really not. Skip the boutique beer, “good” wine, shots, etc. To quote Michael Pollan: Eat food. Not much. Mostly plants. Thanks again🙏🏽
I travel all across the us and I have worked out at gyms all across America and I would hardly see Indians and people of Indian descent at the gym. Even in The heart of the Indian and West Indies and south Asian communities. You would hardly see them in the gym. And when you do see them they have a big rice belly.
Dr Pal what are the good sources of Vitamin A in South India. I heard some beta carotene sources cannot get converted to Vitamin A. how to handle dry eyes? Could you please put a video on this?
I love Indian food. My problem of it is for me it is very spicy and I have to eat rice with it even though I am a low carb high fat eating kind of guy. Also, I don't know if they use coconut oil or seed oil. As delicious as their food is, I am a little hesitate to eat it too often.
Please note that seed oils freshly done without emulcifiers are available in India. But bottled seed oil has emulsifiers. So dont stereotypicalizebseed oil. Canola oil removed genes glucosinolates and erucic acid from mustard oil which is known to cause heart attacks.
Dear Dr, it's all about food they getting from food market they eating please look inside food ingredient are not good for the Human body olden days we use to eat same food now food market have change in food ingredient .
U guys should eat more plant based protein, veggies, nuts, seeds, go to bed early. Do yoga & sleep in saunas. Never stay up late or go dancing, Meditate because you need to fix your mind from worrying obsessively if you miss a wink of sleep . Yoga is so great to teach you how to breathe thru suffering. Bread Pasta Ice Cream & meat is not for you. Don't drink booze at all. Just eat work and sleep. Never eat junk food, candy, cake, chips, and if you do it will make you sick forever immediately. You can't rely on your body to heal itself and you can't trust it Routine, routine, routine.
I must have missed the never eat junk food part. Where was that? At what time stamp?👀🤔🧐 Well, have fun not taking care of your health and good luck taking care of your disease. Listen to your bad bacteria instead of this doctor and feed them what they need in order to survive. Keep eating junk food that won't nourish your body and then worry about why you have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks and dementia. Much better options. 👀🤔🧐🫣😒😏🙄
I have to disagree with a few of your points :) PLANT-BASED PROTEIN: The majority of plant-based protein is somewhat limited as far as the amino acid profile - adding in some quality animal protein helps you achieve this. DANCING: A good thing and brings joy to the soul! BOOZE: Although there are many negative implications out there on this subject; a minimal amount is not necessarily a deal-breaker for good health. THE BODY: You CAN rely on your body to heal itself - IF you treat it well. The body is an *AMAZING* machine!
Look at it from a positive aspect😅 Our South Asian ancestors survived numerous famines and so we became "starvation-adapted". This was a GOOD thing in the past, our bodies storing fat in the belly was a key survival strategy for when food was scarce. Indian babies are born with higher fat reserves - in case we undergo another famine, survival kicks in😊. Unfortunately, this works against us in an environment of much abundance such as in the West. South Asians make up 1/4 of the world's population for a damn good reason. It's because our thrifty genes ensured our survival!😂
It is not his English that is difficult to understand, it is the fact that he is talking too fast and letting his voice to open up thoroughly. In his channel, he used to open up his voice completely. However, a thought privoking podcast.
Seriously! From all the important things he talked about, that’s your conclusion? And something else, that’s your opinion nobody cares about. Good bye.

He interrupts and talks about himself a lot and we miss the teaching from the expert. He keeps summarizing what Dr Pal said!

Good intention:there is also an addiction to listen to one self about oneself talking.... Before letting guests talk.... 😉

How do we increase this butrate thingy in our gut?
Hey Dr Pal...this is PayPal 😂😂...pls do a video on vitamins if possible... advantages n disadvantages....stay blessed, you doing a Job dear.👍
Surely if you are ezting raw and cooked vegetables, these will counteract effect of white flour product in your diet?
A cheap food scale will show you how many calories you’re eating. Nuts, for example are insane.
Counting calories is a complete waste of time. I lost 88 pounds and did not count one calorie.
@@rustybales6826 if you lost it fasting you were in a calorie deficit.. Some people would rather lower carbs and not do extended fasts.

It would interesting to know / find out, if it is visceral fat behind the huge belly.
