    I was taking Nexium for 10+ years for acid reflux because I had a sh!tty diet for most of my adult life. January 2022, 60y/o, I was obese. I went Keto, one meal a day and walked 8 miles every other day. Within ONE WEEK, I no longer needed Nexium. By October 2022, I lost 60 lbs, got off 7 medication and had the best blood test results ever. In your talk about getting rid of the PPIs in GERDS, I struggled with GERDS a good part of my life and finally came to the realization that eating frequently was the main cause. It keeps the stomach full, the stomach continually secreting acid, and not allowing the stomach and lower esophagus a rest. Eating only at meals and only 3 or fewer meals a day eliminated my GERDS. I also had more periodontal disease than I thought I should have, also a result of frequent eating and continually supplying food for the bacteria in my mouth, producing periodontal disease. If I had only known 70 years ago what I know now, my eating habits and diet would have been completely different than they were.

      Its common sense that most diseases start in the mouth and dental issues. Yet, the dentist are separated from the medical and health care insurance. Eat an apple for acidic stomach. Indian food especially airline food will definitely give you gerd. An apple a day keeps the Doctor away.

    • @WokeisaJoke0522
      @WokeisaJoke0522 13 днів тому +2

      That’s half of it. Let me explain: GERD is caused from too little or weak stomach acid. The Cardiac Sphincter opens up when there’s not enough stomach acid, resulting in heartburn/GERD. So the cure is adding stomach acid,like apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride acid. Intermittent fasting, like you said, will definitely help, too.

    I went to an ENT for a “lump in my throat” every time I swallowed. Turns out I had acid reflux. The Dr. prescribed a PPI but the pharmacy didn’t have it in stock. Since I was going out of town I told them not to fill it and I would call when I returned if I still needed it. After researching it on the recommendation of my husband, I decided to try the other recommendations from the Dr. first. I stopped eating at least 3 hours before bedtime and in no time at all everything took care of itself. I never did fill that prescription, and on the rare occasion that I get heartburn, I eat some mustard, and it goes away.

    Outstanding interview! The information presented was very informative. Also, we need more information concerning the beauty products and the foods we are consuming that are causing harm. There are so many concerns that negatively affects our health. One big concern should be the harmful pesticides farmers are allowed to use on our food supply that are harmful to consume. Reportly, the materials companies are using to make bottles for bottled water are harmful to our health, the majority of preseratives used to maintain the shelf life of packaged foods are harmful and mostly not recommended for human consumption in large amounts. Further as reported wild caught fish is better to eat than processed meats and it has been reported that wild caught fish and fish products contain high levels of mercury and other chemicals that may cause health problems and shouldn't be consumed in large. The detriment harm of consuming processed sugar is almost incomprehensible. The side effects of pharmaceutical medications are sometimes worse than the diagnosis. Simply breathing the air in our environment today can cause serious health problems. Thinking about these issues and how to avoid harmful products is a daunting task. Over the years I have learned so much from various Doctors and others who are speaking out and giving us truthful information about what's causing so many life threatening illnesses today. And, it's amazing to learn about the foods we are consuming and everyday products we are using that are destroying our well-being and opportunities for us to have healthier life style. The bigger question should be who or what organization is sincerely providing nutritional guidelines to best benefit the health and well-being of the people?

  • @CarolSurles
    @CarolSurles 4 місяці тому +11

    First, Dr. Bryan, I applaud your career. You function the way that those blessed with terminal degrees, especially PhD's, should serve society--as delegated intellects. In order to have hypothesized, postulated and engaged in the processes that are necessary to the work of scholars and researchers, a lot of private time is required--think time. In the course of that, a lot of sacrifices are inevitable; so, thank you for your service. Second, I relate personally to much of what you have said about our bodies' ability to heal on their own, if we supply the needed nutrition, and incorporate other health strategies to provide the nutrition and energy for every bodily process. Third, please provide some guidance on how physical activity affects nitric oxide. What type of exercise is best for maximal production of NO? Fourth, how do measures of saturated oxygen that we see in our oximeters correlate, if at all to NO. I am 77, still very active, and take citrulline or drink watermelon juice daily, along with an extensive nutritional protocol. I am rarely tired. Sometimes, I stop only because it makes sense for a 77 year old to stop and rest. One of the essentials in my protocol is to eat only organic, NON-GMO verified, and well-researched conventionally grown produce from heirloom seeds. I do not want to pull you into a debate about genetically modified foods and the use of pesticides like glyphosate, but in my mind, this is the elephant in the room that the vast majority of scientists are reluctant to discuss. The problem with that is that diligent scholars like you may be spinning your wheels, until geneticists make up their minds to do responsible research that is independent of the vast mercenary powerhouse supporting GMO food. I say this because I do believe that NON-GMO food can heal the body, but the jury is still out as to whether GMO food can be healing or detrimental to health. Are we taking one step forward and three steps back with GMO foods, and our permissive recreational drug laws that will very likely erode the NO in our younger generation that might be using THC and other drugs? Again, thanks for your amazing work.

Patients needed at the time prescription from the doctor to go on this drug. The doctors are knowingly helping the PHARMA industry & prescribe whatever they dream to accomplish in this regard. I was prescribed Pepcid AC in 1998 by an EAR doctor who said that my tongue was whitish bc of the acid reflux, though I went to see him for an ear infection & I had no such symptoms. Years later I decided on my own to stop taking this medication, bc it was indeed causing acid reflux. Later on, I suffered a heart block which was definitely the result of taking this medication. No one in my family had ever suffered of heart problems. Unfortunately, some doctors do not represent the interest of the patient. However, I loved the interview. Thank you!!!

      Usually if your tongue is whitish, it is candida. Remember most Dr's are practitioners and guess who they are practicing medicine on? You and I! In other words they are making their best guess of what medicine to give to us but they have no idea how your body will react to this because in reality it's just and experiment!

      Oh are doctors on the pharmaceutical team, strange that so few actually don't think of this, is there one person you don't know who is not to trust it is your doctor, the sad thing is in reality it's just the oposite. This goes for about 80% of humans i would quess. Think for yourself, that's so damn important, even if it take a little more of your percious time.

    This podcast has helped me to understand my worsening health issues and what is making them worse. I have total thyroid failure , 3 heart attacks, diabetes 2, insulin resistance etc.
    I started taking 2 capsules of L-Arginine a few months ago because I read that this amino acid improves the blood flow and general health. I think it has been helping but have no test results confirming it yet.
    Your lifestyle suggestions are similar to what I have been trying over recent years. However, increasing exhaustion, breathlessness and chronic joint pain, have made me more sedentary in the past 6 months.
    I live in the UK and haven't seen any nitric oxide products but will look for them.

    I want you and dr. Nathan Bryan to know about Dr. Hay’s Food Combining for Health. The book is old but still available. His research into digestion and acid reflux lead him to the conclusion that if food was separated by starch and protein it would deal with acid reflux. I have been following his rules of not mixing starch and protein, e.g., no potatoes with meat, for 15 years and not only did it cure acid reflux but changed how my body felt so quiet and normal. Because I was digesting food properly I gradually lost 114 lbs over 18 months with surprisingly little effort. I do urge you to find the book and read it.

    I had mouth disease and got fed up with the confusions so I almost stopped using mouth wash even. I am carnivore, eating a little veggies (black olives, tomato slices, and avocado) now, and heard that Carni helps teeth and gums. It took 3 months (give or take) on Carni TMAD and my teeth are more solid now. I have a feeling of a coating, but my teeth have no inner coffee stains and are whiter than before, overall. I was a heavy coffee drinker and the yellow and brown crevices are gone . The gums are adhering and more normal in color. I have used zylitol like this: using zylitol grains (sugar texture) , gums, or mints from teachings of the creator of "Zellies" (Dr Miller), I did "finger brushing "and spat out the saliva due to the sweetness at the end. I scrubbed my teeth and gums 'till they squeaked. No BRUSH. No Mouthwash to Kill anything. Done.
    Doctors, Could it be possible that Zylitol ( or another non-antibiotic wash ) be manufactured and be available already to do what money makers can't make money on? Zylitol---period, will help America even if it doesn't help pockets...Please be merciful and gift it...Tell. RFK about it and see what he says. Let's change things!

    My mother had acid reflux and was put on a medication and just left on it. She did develop Dementia/Alzheimer's but we did not know what caused it. It completely tore our family apart and the stress was unbearable. I was her primary caregiver and wound up having to admit myself to the hospital due to stress. Eventually we did have to put her into a nursing home. Within 16 days after admission, she suffered an "accident" and was found on the floor of her room. She died about one week later. We however are still trying to deal with it and it has been 10 years now. All because she was given medication to stop reflux, not taken off of it, and no one knew the ramifications of long term use of the product.
    I have known this for several years now, but it just enrages me to know the hell my mother and our family, went through and continues to go through due to the negligence of the manufacturer of said product. There are millions of others who suffered and continue to suffer due to this.

May I suggest that you start feeding your mother lots of fatty red meat, the more fat the better for her brain. Our brain is made up of 80% fat, so we need to feed it lots of fat to stay healthy. If you're sceptical of my suggestion, may I guide you to research the carnivore diet, which is the proper human way to eat.

    I think it should be made far more clear his connection to directly profiting from selling his nitric oxide supplement… wish I had that $90 back..

    Hello Dr. Bryan, I am so very impressed with your knowledge and research and thankful for this video. I have been on proton pump inhibitors for 15 years..... UGH!! I had no idea the dangers these create and plan to wean off of them like you recommend. My question is that I also take Verapamil (calcium channel blocker) for cardiac arrythmia, can I take Nitic Oxcide while on Verapamil?
    Thank You!!!!

    I’m amazed when people say you need to put minerals in water. You get your minerals from foods not water. I go too a well known holistic doctor, asked what type of water I drink. City or well and asked if I live by farm fields. I said I had well and was surrounded by farm fields. Four years ago bought a water distiller and was drinking that without putting minerals in it. She was happy to hear that, and said keep it up.

    Fantastic discussion. I'm grateful for all of the medical experts and pioneers out there that freely share their knowledge in the benefit of society.
    Of interest is that ACEII is regulated by NO and the CoV-19/Vx spike protein binds to ACEII and reduces NO.

    The doctor put me on it and I stopped because I started to listen to doctors on UA-cam talk about how dangerous they were causing peoples bones to shatter. I start using peppermint essential oil on the tip of my tongue just a little. I’d stick my tongue in the top of the essential oil bottle no more than that and swallow. After I had taken HCL to breakdown my food 3 pills after I ate food when I was lying down, started coughing I’d stick my tongue at the top of the peppermint, essential oil bottle and swallow what was at the tip of my tongue, and no more you can’t put a whole drop of peppermint in your mouth, and swallow it’s just too much. That alone was what I did for two to three years and I don’t have a problem anymore. I used HCL with Pepin three tablets each time I ate. You’re supposed to do it before you eat but a lot of times I just ate and did it afterwards. I also stayed away from gluten is that seems to cause me to cough a lot more but I don’t have the problem anymore. I still have to take the enzymes occasionally during the day, not after every meal, and sometimes I use peppermint before lying down especially if I don’t wait three hours before I lie down after my last meal but other than that, that’s all I did and it worked for me

      Try eating your last meal before 6pm at most and see the difference, no more reflux. Bread or such causes reflux in me. I am addicted to bread, could finish off one food length huge bread with avocado in a meal and not feel down. So I have finally conquered reflux and too much phlegm or mucus in my throat in the morning. Then Apple Cider spoon in a glass of water tops it off. We learn everyday!

    This doctor is so on point. Everything he’s saying I found out by my own research and applied it to myself. I’ve reversed it all. My Dr used to say ur blood sugar was normal and from my research I told her no it wasn’t. My blood sugar would be 99 - 110, so I told her it is high normal so I started making my own changes. After I retired 5 years ago it got worse and my urine had turned amber colored also that only lasted a few weeks before I changed my diet to eliminating snacks and sugar and reversed all of it. I refuse to consistently take any drugs at all and as I said I take the PPI one pill every 6 months or 12 months and that is true today for me. I have never had any viruses either including Covid.

    Can you recommend a dentist here in Orlando Florida area that can look into my two root canals? 2012 I got one done while in the military, 2014 it got infected so they went back in and cleaned it. Around the same time I got the second root canal done and no issues with that one that I'm aware of. I'm 39 and the very odd issues that have been in my life ever since then makes me want to look further into this. Thank you for the video. This might just be the thing I need.

    I had serious gerd issues and even got an er/ambulance ride. Three days later I left and then proton inhibitors followed for years. Recently I found a video by an M.D showing a really funky type movement that I tried and bam 💥 like a miracle and no more anti acids. I also take acv/lemon/honey daily. The acv handles any reflux symptoms that may arise.

    I ordered Beet chews but when I got the package I read the ingredients and guess what? It had Sunflower Oil which is a dangerous seed oil which is highly inflammatory. So I couldn't use them. And it's very expensive. It's supposed to be a nitric oxide supplement.

    I have been following the dietary advice of Dr. Hay, a doctor from early last century, who teaches splitting protein from carbohydrates at every meal. He calls it “food combining - don’t eat foods that fight”. His book is still available on Amazon. I was experiencing acid reflux for the first time in my late 50s. Adopting this way of eating in a disciplined manner together with apple cider vinegar in water before each meal, has kept my body free from reflux, letting me digest food properly and gradually losing weight. I cannot recommend this enough. No need for any medication to achieve relief.
