Everyone talking about how good Denzel was in this movie and rightfully so but for me Dakota Fanning was absolutely sensational in this movie, for such a young girl at the time, none of her scenes and the way she acts where forced it was all natural, after seeing this movie over 20 times now over the years I still cry when the two meet on the bridge at the end
I agree! She is absolutely wonderful. In my mind, she'll always be the best child actress ever. She was just perfect in this movie! I also still cry at the end ....
She is a natural talent. A massive one. No amount of training can help turn someone into that good of an actress at that age. She's just an absolute mega natural talent. War of the Worlds for example - same thing. It's a shame that she hasn't gotten a chance to continue the trajectory in later years, but great to see she's in Equalizer 3 reuniting with Denzel. Hope things pick up for her as she's incredible.
Same I aw it last night and that bridge scene gets me, the pool scene also when the Nun says "you are her father today" as it was just him there not even her mother.. On the bridge she says "I love you Crisie, you do too don't you?" "Yes I do"... 😢😢😢 amazing film, the director has real sight..
If you have never seen this movie, SEE IT. It is a story of ultimate redemption of a broken man through his love of a little girl. He willingly makes the ultimate sacrifice. Beautiful and heart-breaking all at once.
“I love you Creasy.... you love me too right?” That part makes me cry EVERY. SINGLE. TIME 😭💔 that child needed love and reassurance so bad that Creasy became the best thing that ever happened to her 🥺
"I'm a professional. Everyone keeps saying that to me, I'm just a professional, I'm just a professional, I'm just a professional, I'm getting sick and tired of hearing that do you understand!"
Awesome movie , I cried when the girl ran to him on the bridge , because of what creasy went through to save Petea . It’s a beautiful movie about sacrifice and what love can do .
Yeah because Tony was actually supposed to direct the 80s version but they went for Scott because he was more well known. So Tony did Top Gun instead became a huge director, and remade Man on Fire in 2006. Im happy it happened this way because Denzel and Dakota were so perfect as Tony’s Creasy and Pita.
All truly great movies have the same scene. You know the one. One character, who delivers a monologue the is just simply perfect. Buildup, content, emotion, delivery...perfection. In this movie there are several. Denzel, "I wish..... I wish you had more time" Christopher, "A man can be an artist....." Just to mention two.
I’m watching this movie right now the same time I watched this video. I’ll always like Denzel because he’s got a big heart inside or out. I’ve seen Training Day too and my two favorite movies of all time,Training Day and Man in Fire. The kidnapper showed no remorse for all of the kidnappers ,and. Denzel delivered more justice in one day than most could in a lifetime.
This and No Country for Old Men really have the best thumping gun shots that you can feel the impact of. You feel each shot hit flesh, break bone and disable muscle. It's in the sound and how the actors display it. Each gunshot is like a punch to the heart in these two films and no other film has come close to them.
Don't know how many times I've seen this movie through the years but wow never stops impressing me and Dakota acting skills? Goddess!! Denzel an Icon of Acting! Love them both huge fan!
My favorite movie I don’t get tired of watching it over and over again and Denzel Washington one of the best actores his my my favorite actor I love all his movies and Dakota at such young age she has made awesome movies god bless you guys 🙂
This movie sparked a profound connection for me with Blue Bayou by Linda Ronstadt. The emotions and timing one day, it just clicked!! Now, I think of my mom every time.. And now I’m going to learn the words to the song Una Palabra. I’m going to learn how to play the guitar. Then I’m going to sing that song at my funeral! Or hopefully someone will.. ohh.. and I want Denzel to be there too as Creasy!! And Christopher Walken as himself! Yeah..
I met a guy in nick on Cat "A" in Srangeways, Manchester. He was an "Earner". He ran his own Door Company, worked for another Door Firm, Law Firm, Law Graduate, as everyone went to him with their cases and he got Lads out, even off Life Sentences! He was highly intelligent and I saw him bench 275kg. I liked him, he was valuable to know and a Life Saving reason NOT to get on the wrong side of. Seriously! I was an Armed Robber and took no shit, but this guy only turned out to be SAS! I was in the same Court and there was a question the judge asked: How did this guy kill and main so many villains!? "You have brought "Garrila Warfare" to the streets of Manchester" That was the Judge's "Sentencing Remarks" I thought who TF is this guy!?? I asked him what happened one day over a game of Chess. It turned out he had stopped some Doormen kicking shit out of this lad. The lad came back and shot at the Doormen; this SAS guy was shot in the face. The these guys rang him up on his Mobile, not having a clue where they gothis number from, but had a good idea who. The voice on the phone threatened to kill his Daughter when she came out of school, she was only 10! Anyway, he planted I.E.D.s. in letter boxes, kidnapped and tortured Gang Members, taping an Iron to their heads etc.. went through peoples bins gaining intelligence, shutting down High Ranking Gang Bangers Bank Accounts, phones, stuck an I.E.D. to the Alternator of one guys Car. Apparently, the word down the grape Vine, was that the guy was like a Ghost according to major Players. The guy was a Martial Arts Champion and would allways be fighting any MMA or UFC fighter that came in, just so he could learn new skills in that department. One time I saw him get chocked out by some MMA Fighter. The guy got up, shook the guys hand, bowed and said "Today is a good Day, as today I was close death as I could have been, and I feel the Buzz to still be alive" The guy made an impression on everyone. Nevertheless, the Authorities had him on their radar. He new and had taken part in some Operation in Northern Ireland that was hush hush?? The guy helped a lot of people. They said he was a Psychopath and sent him to Braudmore for a PCLR! The poor guy was never seen again! Lost in the System! Liquid Kosh! I sat there, as my trial had finished and listened to this Man's Army Career! What truck me, was the guy had put his Life on the line for others, the public, and no one fought for him! He's probably Brain Dead or zombiefied now, if not dead. But no one cared, due to him being labelled a Criminal. The guy was a top Commando and saved a lot of Lives, allowing us to live as we do, due to his sacrifice. I just don't get it!? They got Tommy Robinson out of Jail, why not this SAS Hero!???? and he was a Hero too! I think about him sometimes, as he learnt me how to read and write. So he was not all bad and at some point, he was at the pinicle of OUR safety. I would have thought someone would have given a f@#k!!?? This Film reminds me of him, but he did a lot more than this guy...the Man was also suffering from P.T.S.D. and physically Injured through Service,. Where's the British Pride!!?whheerere's Britian First!!!!??
2021 and still loving this movie. Watching it in Tijuana BC and it makes more sense now then when I first saw it. Unintentional perhaps, but it clips a bit of the raw truth of this country... Sad to say... Love you Denzel!!!
God Denzel and Tony were such a great director/actor duo. I have loved all there films together such a travesty that Tony took his own life they probably had more masterpieces to cook up together.
God I hope we never find out she was ever "miss treated" One of my favorite actresses. My faith in humanity has been shaken as of lately, with all the news of shocking Hollywood child star stories.

'Creasy's art is death'
