The fact that you responded means you took the time to reflect and understand.

    The Equalizer franchise with Denzel is one that never lost quality across its three films and I love how the mystery of who he was before and what he has done remains, even to us the audience. If they ever want to explore his past though, I hope they do it absolute justice!

    • @davidf2244
      @davidf2244 5 місяців тому +19

      The mystery is always better. Always. And whenever the movies explain things, they do it in the stupidest spoon feeding way. Like the little boy story. It's not even enough to explicitly say "things a child might steal". He has to keep going and explain everything. And say it in Russian, and then say it in English, too.
      It's mind numbing. It's an action movie. It's supposed to be dumb. But as far as mystique and writing go, it's a joke.
      About the only thing they got right was the mystery. I'd rather they kept it.

I was a huge fan of the old Edward Woodward CBS series of the 80s and thought this movie series was splendid and was a good take and homage to the old series. The reasoning for McCall’s trek to Italy was quintessential Equalizer, “Got a Problem, Odds Against You, Call the Equalizer. “ The last film really reminded me of an old Western where the gunfighter who has done some unspeakable things is looking for redemption and he befriends, protects, and defends a small town from big baddies. The Italian locations were breathtakingly beautiful. A nice happy ending and good closure for an entertaining well done trilogy of films.

He was the shepherd protecting the innocents. The dynamic that got me(hoping if they ever do a prequel that we get to see his hit squad with Dave(Pedro Pascal). In my opinion, Denzel Washington is one of the top 10 actors ever. He's right up there with Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep, Marlon Brando, Morgan Freeman, and Sandra Bullock just to name of few. However, to me, he is a better human being than an actor. He has morals and principles. He doesn't talk politics or controversial topics. He just talks how to be a better person. We need more just like him. Not only in Hollywood but in everyday life. I believe he is the perfect Role Model.

    My favorite two actors are Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. They only played in one movie together(Philadelphia) which is a shame. While both are equally great, I always felt Tom shows so much of his nice guy personality in his roles that he might be just being HIM. Denzel, this is where is might be a tad better. Like a Humphrey Bogart, Denzel has played so many deep characters with so many different styles that frankly he's a chameleon. That is the ultimate type of actor, one who can play different roles from friend to foe, protagonist to antagonist. Like Bogey being rank number 1 in the golden era, Denzel should be rank number one in the current era.
