    "to do away with national barriers". sly how he worked that one in there

    • @Dav-lc8sc
      @Dav-lc8sc 24 дні тому

      Even if we have separate nations, doesn't it make sense for us to cooperate amongst each other for our mutual benefit rather than constantly engaging in mutually destructive wars? Nationalist rhetoric is seen as pernicious by some people because it encourages selfish people to think about trying to despoil other countries in order to prop up their own. But in real life to do so would actually harm their own country, not really benefit it. Hence the push in some political groups to encourage us to broaden our minds and care about the well-being of all nations not just one's own

      dumb statement bro.

    • @Dav-lc8sc
      @Dav-lc8sc 24 дні тому

      If you try to make a public statement to prop up either yourself or your political party, it weakens your statement inevitably. If instead you had approached it with the motive of actually benefitting all people equally, on a more universal level, your words and actions only then can be imbued with power. Notice the alloyment of what is true in your statement with the more personal concern of tearing down a controversial political figure. What if instead you had simply said people who are selfish blind and weaken themselves? That greed impoverishes itself? Then others listening can take the good example and apply it to their own lives according to their own intelligence. But when you make your statements about yourself or about bolstering some political faction, religious group, social club, etc. your statements are inevitably weaker because they are first of all not universal in application, second of all more liable to both being incorrect of themselves and also of being misinterpreted, and thirdly they are not perfectly altruistic, the motive is alloyed to one of selfishness or encourages, in a small way at least, such a motive. Fourthly, those who are perfectly self-abnegative and serve the real good of all beings equally and at all times are inherently wiser and more powerful than those who have an alloy of selfishness, however small that mote of clinging to life and a personal identity may be. The good alone are blessed.
      This *should* encourage an attitude of humility and goodwill, for us to be content with what we have. Rather than going around preaching to people, to live simply and honestly and fairly. Imposing limitations on oneself in order to protect others from the expression of any vicious impurity one has within one's own heart.

      Acting exactly like, but there's no way that trump could make that kind of speech, he's more interested in electric boats sharks, Hannibal Lector, and now strange stories about golfers. Oh and dancing like a demented grandpa.
      And his cult followers want him to be the leader of the free world in these challenging times. So relevant Charlie, but those who need to hear it are sadly deaf.
