He looked so uncomfortable after that clip was played, and he’s also not that comfortable talking about himself on a personal level. Joaquin has nothing to be embarrassed about. We all have moments where we get frustrated or annoyed with someone. It's a human thing. Making a film is no easy task, the good ones aren't anyway. So yeah I can imagine anyone, no matter how gentle of soul you are normally, you may crack at one point or another. I'm a very kind person, have I snapped at people before? Many times.

Gladiator is my favorite movie in the world! I watched it since I was probably 5. I sort of grew up "hating" Joaquin for his role as Commodus. Growing up I realized that he was so talented and amazing in this movie that he made the audience hate him. I hated him because because of his role, which he portrayed soooo damn good, I def love him now. He's one of the greatest!
I say this to people all the time. I hate him in Gladiator so much I wouldn't watch his other movies. Until I watched Walk The Line and that's when i realized this man is great.
He and Oliver Reed were actually the real great actors in that film

One of my favorite movies of all time, seen it twice in theaters and paid full price, really hits home if you deal or known someone who dealt with mental illnesses and how little society/insurance to help. I’ve been there and Joaquin lived the role. And that’s a very scary thing to do.
Joaquin is plain and simple, one of the greatest character actors of all time, and definitely one of, if not the best alive today.

I can’t believe Jimmy exposed this moment for everyone. I work on sets and it’s very common and NORMAL for actors to be in emotional rollercoasters during the filming. Acting is a very emotionally challenging thing, it requiers you to be very vonurable and dive deep into layers of intense emotions and trauma, often on a tight scedule while an entire team is watching and judging. As a film worker you have to keep that in mind and be patient. We aren’t robots

Hold on though..Is he doing that Letterman thing again?..Yes Kimmel isn't being great but I'm getting the same vibes like he was presenting in that Letterman interview where it looked like everyone was laughing at him supposedly being serious with the beard and all but later turned out he was just acting and was a bit more lighthearted in the subsequent interview. I'm sure I'm overanalyzing but the movie is still fresh and this type of interview actually helps the movie

@@rorisang8602 Yeah I haven't seen the movie yet but I've seen enough of him and what first set me off what when he put his foot on the couch and the way he was trying to look serious about break dancing ..His documentary also explored the whole reality TV world where people buy into all the fake acting just because it comes under "reality TV"

@@SARYM911 yes this one was staged, there is another interview with phoenix but this time with fallon instead, and phoenix was act totally different there he was joking around and even switched place with fallon and started intervieweing him instead with fallon pretending to be the actor and joking about todd philips.

Joaquin is not a conventionally “cool” actor. He’s such an articulate and deep person that needs a different kind of interview. He won’t just play along. You can clearly see that in this interview
