My daughter died 6 years ago at 5 weeks old and instead of one day walking her up the aisle to give her away to her future husband I carried her and her tiny white coffin in my arms through a sea of heartbroken loved ones. I gave her eulogy, I told her how much her daddy loves her and how my life was utterly broken without her. Finally I carried her from the church to her grave as this song played. Just like the Chris in this film I would have readily given up my life to save my little girl but instead I laid her in her forever bed. Sleep well my angel, daddy will never stop loving you. I don't know you but I am sending all the love I have in my heart to you. I'm middle-aged, single and never had kids. Except for the miscarriage my girlfriend had at 19 weeks when I was twenty. There was a tiny coffin for him and for the first time in a long time I'm in tears about it.
I think this is one of Denzels best performances hands down. His acting was incredible. He portrayed sadness, pain, happiness, anger, love and some humerous points. Absolutely flawless performance 👏
I totally agree, but they want to recognize him for Training Day. Even though he did an excellent job. But, why not give him his due for this movie. It made him look to much of a hero.
What intrigues me most is how Creasy is constantly suffering throughout the whole film - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We see him try to kill himself but it’s clear that God doesn’t let him, and he continues to suffer after losing Pita. But I like to think that in the end, after all the suffering, tribulation, and his redemption, God refused to let him suffer anymore. Especially at the hands of the mafiosos who definitely would’ve tortured him brutally. So as he sat in the car looking out the window, God finally took him home.
Denzel should've won like 10 oscars for this movie , when i heard this track the whole movie came back to me instantly, its really hard to forget such great performance

Recently made the mistake of rewatching this incredible film whilst travelling on a plane. That final scene with this music where he passes away in the car came as we landed and people got up to look around and get their hand luggage - as this hit me like a ton of bricks and couldn't help but tear up. Damn, what a film and what a song. Deserved accolades. I vote for retrospective film awards that look back and reflect again on their quality. This would get my votes.

Does anyone else realize what an immense talent the director Tony Scott is ? Denzel is still the best actor alive in my opinion. When asked who HIS favorite actress he ever worked with was, Denzel replied; Dakota Fanning. I've watched this movie 5 times, and it never gets old. It too is a masterpiece.
Absolutely incredible move. With the best actor in Hollywood. It's not just some shallow CIA operstivs action film. This has everything, and a meaningful storyline.
I’m really glad you told us this about Denzel. After watching the movie I did wonder what he thought of working with Dakota, especially at such a young age. I think they both deserved Oscars for their acting in this film.
15+ years later and it's still a masterpiece. Just watched it last night again after some years and it still hits like the first time My personal favorite movie from my favorite actor. The Director and the girl Dakota did an amazing job as well! And the music! This soundtrack and the Una Palabra one fit sooooooooo good!
Omg, I can not agree more with you, that was exactly the same thing I was going to write after literally crying for the entire video, the sentiment I release during this movie its incredible . That movie gets me every time and this video hits me the same. Amazing movie!
The "girl dakota" is Dakota fanning, she's in equalizer 3 & at 28 yrs old. She's still friends w/ Denzel & his kids & their whole family. It was hard for me to see it but after looking at her for a few minutes you can really see the resemblance.
I watched this movie for the first time tonight, and I got so emotional. He loved her unconditionally even though she wasn't even his daughter. when someone gives you a piece of them, it sticks with you. And his love and loyalty is the only thing that kept him going. Love is a strong and beautiful thing
Yes very true and the film is truly unique and beautiful my favourite film the whole story and soundtracks etc are perfect the film is just unbelievable.
Two songs make me cry - this one and A woman’s work by Kate Bush. I seem to be unable to cry for any other reason, so far any way. Both just remind me that loss is painful and close and worse still inevitable. So let’s try and enjoy what we have got
This is one of my favorite movies. I have watched it many times. I luv Denzel Washington's performance was so outstanding. The way he & Dakota Fanning's character, Pita, interacted was so real & touching. They really had a luv for each other. He had something to live for, especially when she was kidnapped. Had to seek revenge. The ending just blew me away. He gave his life for her safety. When he was walking over the bridge & she was running toward him. The luv they have for each other, so powerful. Broke my heart. When he died in the car with the medal was one of the saddest things. I cry every time at the end. The acting was superb. The music was haunting & beautiful. Luved it. Dede Ben.
That same kid is 24 years old now and looking to be one of the best future actors. Got to love both Dakota and Elle Fanning for the way they grew up /pun intended/ as actors.
It's definitely a beautiful but heartbreaking scene. Definitely not just joy and happiness in this scene. It is very sad, because even though Pita and Creasy are reunited, and she is now safe. You know they will never see each other again, because he has sacrificed himself to save her. He's already dying while on the bridge with her. He knows his end is drawing near. It really is hard to watch the bridge scene without shedding some tears. That music is perfect for the scene as well
I played Una Palabra on my Aunts funeral. She past away of breast cancer, every time i hear the song, i think of her, i get sad because of all those stolen moments that were taken away, she is forever remembered and never forgotten. Rip. Tia
Lisa Gerard has the most beautifully haunting voice ever. To think she created her own language that this song is sung with. I think it’s because the Universe never wanted anyone to imitate her, as it can’t be done.
I’m so embarrassed! I thought this was Spanish at first, but I speak Spanish and I couldn’t understand this, then I thought maybe Portuguese, I can understand some of that, but I couldn’t get a word. One word sounds like dolor which is pain in Spanish but it was funny. No wonder I couldn’t get it if she made it up. So the song is sung in “tongues” 😂😂😂

Lisa Gerrard, her voice is so haunting and yet so soft and powerful. I've been listening to her music for over 20 years now and it still today moves Me unlike anything else or anyone ever can. The closest would have to be the Cello.
The ending of the movie left me feeling sad and happy at the same time. Happy because Pita was still alive. Sad because in order to save Pita, Creasy had to die instead. A life for a life.
Redemption and forgiveness for him and what he has done in his past. A lost love and the need of his heart to find himself. He found this piece in the child and she and he bonded....just as a father to his own beloved daughter. The time to prove to himself to her and would stop at nothing and he was willing to sacrifice himself for her. Look how he looked at her.
This is the most moving most powerful scene I've ever come across. The tears come down and you just sob in combination with the music as Lisa Gerard's lementing pierces right through your heart as you see Pita running into the arms of her mother and as the car drives off, its as if she is singing for him to be at peace and to not be afraid to cross over. It is very rare to find music that is as uplifting you feel as though you are walking on air, as devastating as losing a loved one, and enough to take away any pain and weight off of your shoulders. I'm speechless and cannot turn my head away.

He's an AWESOME actor .... without any doubts. I came here because of Equilizer and some rumors has it that the Character here has a connection to the Movie EQUILIZER ! hence a sequel to MAN ON FIRE... Denzel is a LEGEND !
We saw the Equalizer because of D. Washington. It is good entertainment, but nothing as great as the story and acting in Man on Fire. I do think the Equalizer set itself up for a sequel about his character in that movie. There is no character or acting (in Equalizer) to compare to Dakota Fanning in Man on Fire. Her face as he is getting shot trying to save her is amazing.
MrFlyingflipflop Oh this Is tough but I like your question...I guess I'll just list my fav In no particular order. Garden state Little Miss Sunshine Vanilla Sky Forrest Gump Gladiator Once The Perfect Storm Fav specific songs.. I have never seen this movie before in my life I watched it today and I have to say oh my god man, I have never cried so much in all my life. I seriously thought that little girl was dead at first, I was so pissed at the dad. Such a heartbreaking story but such a good one! I loved it!
The Only time you will really appreciate this song is the bridge scene where the little runs to him screaming creasey!. The feeling I had the first time I saw it is unexplainable. Is a pity we don't get that with movies these days.
my father dead on 26/2/2022 he loved this film and this song while hearing this song feeling my dad is here near me this song now gives me feelings i cant say it or imgain it really i loved my dad and still love hope he in good place right now
Broke my heart at the end that he did not leave WITH her. Having his presence remain in her life would have been one of the greatest gifts she would ever receive.
My favourite film of all time, never got the recognition it deserved, denzil absolutely brilliant performance an the young dakota fanning, unbelievable film
Janeiro 2021...😌😌😌
One of the best movies made about honor and that you have to know where you would die for in life without asking something back, and the music is perfect just like gladiator.
I have never wanted him to surrender. The alternative end of the movie has made me feel this as one of the best movies I have ever watched. I don't understand this song but still it makes my heart filled with deep sadness. This movie is something else.
Creasy was her father figure in this story. Her failure of a real father gave way to him to be that for her. Having them reunite in the end was truly special. Seeing her run to her mom was just as good. I think of my daughter every time i watch this and the things i would do for her, what i would give. You go be back with mommy now, daddy's brought you back home. Love you baby girl.
“In church they say to forgive. Forgiveness is between them and god it’s my job to arrange the meeting” still one of my all time favorite lines
epic one.

+Jay Jacobs Same here! Along with Morgan Freeman.
Freeman happens to be another one of my favorite actors
He just got a Lifetime Achievement Award
Grande

Lisa Gerrard, her voice is so haunting and yet so soft and powerful. I've been listening to her music for over 20 years now and it still today moves Me unlike anything else or anyone ever can. The closest would have to be the Cello.
Hans Zimmer as well is up there as all time favorites.
Im crying man, i cant... this is beautiful
yeah
Omg tears were streaming down my eyes hearing this all over again...spectacular!! Great movie and cast too
The ending of the movie left me feeling sad and happy at the same time.
Happy because Pita was still alive.
Sad because in order to save Pita, Creasy had to die instead.
A life for a life.
:(
I really think this actor is a best ever an I like him so much, but I can't stop crying everytime I watched this movie.
i won't lie every time i watch it the bridge scene get's me. it's the music+scene THAT DOES IT.
same here

Just watched this again, lost count of how many times I’ve seen it, fantastic film, and nice to see him reunited with Dakota in The Equaliser 3.

Redemption and forgiveness for him and what he has done in his past. A lost love and the need of his heart to find himself. He found this piece in the child and she and he bonded....just as a father to his own beloved daughter. The time to prove to
himself to her and would stop at nothing and he was willing to sacrifice himself for her. Look how he looked at her.
That's deep
great Comment that describes the entire movie
+Robert Dahlen i am Dutch not American and its not how the Movie Portrays believe me its not a Fantasy Story how its shown very over exaggerated!
+Malcolm Walton what do you mean?
Beautiful words, Robert Dahlen!
Such an amazing song and one of my favorite movies of all time and one of the best movie soundtracks ever.

A final walk, for a final sacrifice. Damn good song and vibes with it.
I’ll never forget when I saw this movie and how it made me feel. A truly beautiful breath taking film. The ending gets me every time. Perfect cast.
There is no better. I’m just waiting for someone to name 1
It still takes my breath away....
Speechless the performance, the music.
I love "Man on Fire". I've shed tears at this movie, crazy. One of Denzel's best.
This Song gives me goosebumps, and brings back so many memories of watching this movie with my dad.
Lisa Gerrard reached deep to emote with ethereal resonance the end of my favorite movie . Timeless.
The emotion from this song let alone the movie itself is incomprehensible to some. Bravo Denzel, you are my favorite actor/person.
Yes he is number 1, same with the movie
Mine to ❤️

@fred palmer Denzel
One of the greatest movies of all time. Every time I cry watching it 😢
Translation
A word does not say anything
And at the same time it hides everything
Just as the wind that hides the water
Like the flowers that mud hides.
A glance does not say anything
And at the same time it says everything
Like rain on your face
Or an old treasure map
A truth does not say anything
And at the same time it hides everything
Like a bonfire that does not go out
Like a stone that is born dust.
If one day you need me, I will be nothing
And at the same time I will be everything
Because in your eyes are my wings
And the shore where I drown,
Because in your eyes are my wings
And the shore where I drown
Bravo

My brother, my super little brother. I asked God for you when I was 5 years old. God made a miracle. Now I’ll give you my best because I know I’m an example for you kid 💪🏽
He's an AWESOME actor .... without any doubts. I came here because of Equilizer and some rumors has it that the Character here has a connection to the Movie EQUILIZER ! hence a sequel to MAN ON FIRE... Denzel is a LEGEND !
It's not a sequel, I can guarantee that they are different characters. Same line of work sure, but completely different characters
Eh, he died here that's why it says 1958-2003 or something in the end.
The Equalizer movie was based on the 80's tv show. There should be a sequel since they have enough source material from those shows.
Mark VanHaverbeke Man on fire was a true story hence the reason for no sequel.
This is a masterpiece
I just finished watching this movie. I have to say I would be watching it again. It was so good.
The best movie ever...!!! With the best soundtrack... Every time i see this movie my heart is going to blow... RESPECT!!!
Creesys art is death, and he is about to paint his masterpiece
Super film i super muzyka.. A życie składa się z lepszych i gorszych dni.. Święty Juda Tadeusz, od spraw beznadziejnych.
Greatest sacrifice I’ve ever seen in a movie ever
im gonna watch this movie again, thumbs up
Little girls can capture your ❤ in a special way. Greatest blessing is a daughter. Creasy was the wrong man to cross. Painted his masterpiece.

Is a pity we don't get that with movies these days.
yeah
Some movies now a days are the same though. But you're right its such a good scene, you cant even explain it
+Osvaldo Cardona
you are right, is such a moving scene
:'(
This film is awesome and it is one of my favourite! Huge thank you to the cast that make it with so great and touching moments!!!

Broke my heart at the end that he did not leave WITH her. Having his presence remain in her life would have been one of the greatest gifts she would ever receive.
Super film i super muzyka, a życie składa się z lepszych i gorszych dni.
Love you guys
You are actually representative of the wonderful Hamza

I'm 21 now i remember watching this movie when i was 13 and cried a lot...such a masterpiece 💜💚
My favourite film of all time, never got the recognition it deserved, denzil absolutely brilliant performance an the young dakota fanning, unbelievable film
He gave his life for the girl. Most honorable sacrifice. I loved this.movie one of my favorites.
Good taste man but common nothing beats man on fire let’s be real name 1
Janeiro 2021...😌😌😌
Denzil Washington is a brilliant actor and above all a devout christian.
God bless him for his work and our faith.
One of the best movies made about honor and that you have to know where you would die for in life without asking something back, and the music is perfect just like gladiator.
Love this film so much makes me cry everytime. Great story line and cast and wounderful soundtrack.
I have never wanted him to surrender. The alternative end of the movie has made me feel this as one of the best movies I have ever watched. I don't understand this song but still it makes my heart filled with deep sadness. This movie is something else.
She calls him.....Creasy Bear.....
damn it who keeps bringing these damn onions!
'Here your brother wants to speak to you' LOL
That line really got to him at some point he could net even breath.
They call me.... "MISTER PIG!!!!!"
Pita: I love you Creasy, can you love me too don’t you.
Creasy: Yes I do.
One of the best if not the greatest movies ever , and the acting of Denzil and Dakota is beyond amazing 🥺🥺🥺the ending is so sad
😥😥😥🇦🇿
They're gonna be together again in Equalizer 3.
Music is so beautiful, emotional, inspiring 😊😊😊 peaceful relaxing all In one 😊😊❤❤❤❤
