My sisters and I have gotten into arguments with our dad, who listened to some "conservative" youtuber or podcast and now believes that racism doesn't exist. We tried to tell him that a century, even several decades ago, it wouldn't have been acceptable for him to marry a hispanic woman (and our mom even mentioned she had some nasty comments thrown her way) and he still stubbornly insisted that "it's just a bully, not a racist".

Calling people weak, when acceptance is and learning can be strength. They’ve conepeltly corrupted any religiously inspired idea of not trading over values for an easier rode of life, and instead devalue expression of important things and support things that scream insecurity. It’s like a geopolitical ironic corruption of moral values to be far right because most people choose their values based on how they were raised. For me the crime isn’t always taking the original path of being this dumb or hateful or antagonistic it’s refusing to grow into a different person and becoming set in that way despite having the opportunity, this country is for religious freedom, and founded for exploitation of, at the time, what was exploring ones own personal civil choices. America isn’t perfect but far right values mock the spirit of its values just because of cultural changes they don’t like.

As a Canadian I will never understand the "protection" thing with guns. Canadians own plenty of guns, but if you ask a Canadian gun owner why they own guns they'll say "for hunting," "for recreation," or "because I like guns." Logically speaking, it makes no sense- if you're storing your guns properly, it's much faster and safer to call 911. If you're not storing your guns properly, any potential benefit is outweighed by the massive risk of somebidy in your household shooting themselves by accident or on purpose, which is both more dangerous and probably more likely than a break in.

I agree. I understand carrying a small gun outside of your home in a dangerous area, but when you're at home, it should be safely stored, especially if you have children or mentally disabled family. If my father had owned a gun and kept in where I could easily access it, I'd be dead.

Well the hype train for “defending our rights” was relatively recently co-opted by folks that are still mad about losing the 🇺🇸 Civil War and having to change their state laws accordingly. But over time this fairly isolated regional resentment turned into a nationwide sentiment of “states’ rights” where merely believing conservative political opinions was framed as “a right to be defended” against any other set of conclusions.
One of the earlier steps in living memory of conflating gun rights with conservative identity was how lobbying groups like the NRA insisted that any and all forms of gun regulation are the next step in complete and utter dismantling of the second amendment. It was a “way of life” argument that was so successful that it was copied onto all popular conservative talking points.
Said “way of life” was further escalated by the notion of “a culture war.” It was intentionally left vague and political slogan-y so it could get to the point where all talking points, even those based in misinformed ideas became sacred ground to defend against. Occasionally resulting in a fervent defense of one’s identity against actual information.
So when you point out that it makes no real sense, you’re only a few steps away from the truth of “it’s derived from propaganda that is supposed to make people feel _instead_ of thinking so that they willingly ostracize most who step out of line”
Exactly. We shouldn't need it for anything other than the things you listed. I live in america, and I have no problem with owning guns. In fact, my family owns guns bc we like hunting. But kids shouldn't have access to guns without an adults help. A sixteen year old shouldn't be able to somehow get guns into school. Or bring it two states away to shoot innocent people.
Maybe people should store their guns under hunting site's watch, protecting people, and animals in no hunting zones ❤

Growing up, I always struggled to talk to people because I can't cope with idiots. I could never tell who is and isn't too dumb for me to put up with, so I'd shut myself away quite a lot. Now I don't have to worry about that as much anymore because I see these people wearing shirts like this, and usually no masks either, and I think "Oh! You're dumb! I don't wanna be anywhere near you!" and can avoid them. Its an advertising board showing me exactly who I should and shouldn't talk to.

Not to be all serious but it scares me that people like this exsist (in general but mainly speaking about the Chinese virus shirt). I'm part Chinese which means that a whole part of my family is full chinese. I'm not scared for myself because at first glance you can't tell since I'm not 100% chinese. I'm more scared for my grandma, especially since asian hate crimes as gone up.
