She was run thought with a 6 foot long sword and then left unattended in a battle arena for at least 15 minutes with an open wound through the abdomen...yeah, she was fucking dead.
Getting stabbed through the abdomen with a sword which is then removed from the wound would be a very quick death, The shock would be almost immediate and the blood loss devastating within minutes. As someone pointed out above the battle which ensues takes around 15 minutes too! Let's just say it's heavily implied she was dead, I'm willing to trust that implication.
#101 chocobos max speed is 176 km- for ps1 version. Thanks for posting. Not sure why people feel the necessity to leave negative comments. Nobody asked them to watch it. I love all the Final Fantasy games personally.
In the scene when Sephiroth kills Aeris, the reason he "obtains" gloves is because when they first made that scene, it was set in the Northern cave (Aeris was meant to die in part of the northern cave instead of at the end of disk 1) and when they changed it, the sephiroth they was following had gloves. Also, the floor changes the pattern in that scene... The checkered floor is the Jenova pedestal and the solid colour is the floor of the cave.
I love how each party member has their own unique dialogue during your travels between main story beats. In Yuffie's case I think it added so much to ger personality, She really is an energetic airhead who also kicks ass when things get serious I always have her in my party. Her reaction to Aerith's death was heartbreaking, I only got her midway through disc 2 on my first play through but took a liking to her. On my second play through I got her early and that scene sealed the deal, It felt like a character break moment where she shows how much she really cares I think a lot of people misjudge her.
"KotR does not work with quadra magic." Thank god... Sitting through that four times? No thanks. After beating the weapons I will never summon KotR again!
"Spells" like Supernova are so ridiculous it's why I love Final Fantasy. You really have to suspend disbelief. So Sephiroth is trying to summon a Meteor with Black Materia to destroy Gaia, yet he can cast a "spell" which nukes the entire solar system lmao.. Also it's implying that this entire game is taking place on Earth and not a fictional planetoid.
FFIV is confirmed to take place on Earth (as in the 3rd rock from the sun, Earth). The planet in FFVIII is called Earth and in other games, Gaia. If you research the concept of "Sephiroth", which is referenced in Supernova, it is based in our solar system.
cloudparter I believe that, despite the planet being called 'Gaia' it is supposed to be Earth. As far as I know, in Mythology there is a goddess named Gaia and she is the Goddess of... The Earth. lol en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_(mythology)
20 I believe is incorrect. I once did not catch up to the train and it crashed into Corel. The ultima materia is then sold to you at a very high price, which I was able to obtain later on.
As for the final Fort Condor battle, you *want* to throw the "minigame" battle, because the Cmdr. Grand Horn you fight holds an Imperial Guard you can steal. One of the only sources of that armor in the game. Obviously you don't want to get killed by him, but he's super weak so it's not likely.
You missed one of the most interesting thing ! : Yuffie calling Tifa "Boobs", if you happen to encounter Yuffie during the short time where Tifa is the party leader.
Great video, but some of the text is un-readable, due to very poor contrast. It's okay though, the amount of work you put in, makes this an awesome video regardless. Thanks so much for posting this, I learned stuff I'm glad to know now.
What fascinates me with this game is that we clearly showed a world where corporatocracy dominates the world and destroys it with pollution ... the same thing is now happening on earth ..
i would say that the most time consuming portion of a perfect save file is the hundreds of hours in the sunken gelinka morphing for all the sources for all the characters to get capped..
I wonder if he replayed the game every single time, naming himself AP: and 60,000 just to record that one portion of the game and every other time in the game.
-101- They're not "Limit Breaks," they're actually just "Limits." If you don't believe me just pay attention to the tutorial. The move is called a Limit, and the Break level refers to filling up the gauge and activating a Limit. When this happens during battle, a message pops up saying "LIMIT BREAK" which simply means "Limit activated" or "Limit available." For almost 20 years we've all been incorrectly calling them Limit Breaks.
Although true, simply calling it a "limit" makes no sense. Calling it a "limit break" however does make sense as it insinuates that they break their normal physical limits to execute an insanely powerful attack.
There's nothing remotely nonsensical about calling the moves "Limits." Yes, the terms were obviously chosen to allude to being pushed to the breaking point and reaching the limit of what you can take. That's why the mode of activation is called a "break level."
I initially misread the title as "10" and was deeply impressed that you managed to stretch that to an hour-length presentation. I am still impressed, lest you worry.
One part of the final cutscenes shows meteor coming down on Midgar in the background of a shot of Cosmo Canyon. Cosmo Canyon is on the other side of the world.XD
lol is that your idea of constructive criticism or do you like to just state the obvious? Ya know what would have really made the video shorter? Forget having any game play at all and just make a huge wall of txt scrolling down telling us the things we didn't know about FF7. Or just skip it entirely and just have a 5 second message telling us how stupid we are and just to go play the god damn game
Michael Haynes Constructive criticism. I thought this vid would be great to watch, but after the first couple minutes I noticed how much filler could have been snipped out. There's no way I'm watching this thing. And it definitely doesn't help that the gameplay is slowed down too. Watching knights of the round in slow motion isn't how I want to spend my time.
machinimamarlon the most of these tips are not true or are useless as hell, so.. please... I was here to find out something new, but all these lies made me just bored... he just want the damn klicks and likes, because almost noone knows much about Final Fantasy 7! But hey... it works... :D
Playing this game for the first time completely changed my view on video games. Never before or after had I been so deeply invested in pixelated characters and their made up world. Even after so many years cosmo canyon song sends chills lol
This was pretty cool. I knew a lot of these already, but it was cool to see some that I didn't know about, too. Though there were a few issues... #20 is incorrect. You can still buy the Ultima materia for 50,000 gil if you fail. You get it for free if you succeed. #34. I'm not quite sure what you meant on this one. If by "respawn" you meant where he flies after taking some damage, then this is incorrect. There are plenty of places for him to fly to before Cosmo Canyon that aren't the Junon crater. I don't know if I'd count #43. I thought you were showing off a glitch, but this seems more like something stupid that someone could have to really go out of their way to accomplish. If someone stumbled on this, SOMEHOW, by accident, I'd recommend they reload a save and stop being dumb with their Highwind and chocobo choices.
+Koru-chan if you fail the train huge material quest you can only get it if you haven't beat the person controlling the train if you beat him and fail at that part you cant get it because it seems like you crashed it.
+Koru-chan #34 uh no. he means that that's where he STARTS flying from after every battle. where he ends up stopping at is different. seemed pretty clear to me.
at 35:20 their names though. NEroNeRoNerON, you have quite some time on your hands to have so many and such elaborate name jokes throughout all your videos, no?
I noticed. The question in reply was as to whether you had to start new files and debug fight to 99, etc., or if you could just somehow change their names. Likely you could do either through coding, but where's the fun in that, right? (Although I feel that's far better than repeated grinding.) But in any case, I love the names thing. It's one of the highlights of this video.
46:50 : .... Ooow.... I never cared that much about Aerith's death (when I was 9 just as much as today at 32, lol. Sorry), but damn, Yuffie's reaction makes me feel sadder than Aerith's death itself :'( ...
I used to be one of those people who clamored for a FF7 remake. I'm currently in replaying the game (for about the 8th or 9th time since it's '97 release) and I now feel Square shouldn't do it. A remake would mean building the game from the ground up and given the way Square handles its games now, I feel it would ultimately leave us all disappointed. There are some who would love a more accurate scale of the world map and others who love the map the way it is. Many want to be able to seamlessly walk into towns and places in the world map but I feel that would be a mistake, it'd take away from what made the game great and memorable which the graphics, for better or worse, were a part of. I'd rather them focus on making a new FF that can surpass FF7 instead.
agreed, that's why Square announced that "[we] will only consider this remake once a brand new game in the franchise exceeds the quality of that found in FF7."
Bobby Hill agree with your point though, the 97 square team is dead and we might never find what we loved in it. Especially, i feel like their priorities have changed (in terms of the render of the game). Looks like they are talking to a public of J-pop or K-pop in their way of designing the games. (no need to say i hate it)
Daniel M I kind of disagree. Look at the magic that was created with the Final Fantasy IV remakes. The DS remake was pretty much a different game, and there were many corrections made to the GBA version in Complete Collection. I for one would love to see a Final Fantasy VII remake that is not unlike the Final Fantasy IV one for DS and now PC, with voice acting, secret dungeons etc. Although I could probably say that for 5-9 as well. Save for 8. That game needs to be left alone.
Doesn't W-summon use a summon magic twice? And then you can use mime, on the other 2 characters, which means you can chain 6 knights of the round together in 3 moves. Would take forever though. Imagine if quadra magic did work on it, in conjunction with mime...that'd be knights of the round 12 times in a row!
Another glitch I encountered was if you have at least 8 Enount-Ups on your party there's a chance for a double encounter but the game will crash after you beat the battle because the battle start up animation will begin after the previous battle. And sometimes the soundtrack will overlap. I did this when I was leveling up my Materia in the Northern Crater on Disc 3.
This video doesn't even touch on the fact that you can resurrect Aeris with four tissues and a Mastered revive materia. It's also the reason that you can't sell Cloud's basic buster sword - Because it's essential for this.
Heres something you might not know.. My FF7 game crashed when i fought yuffie in the forest and was at the part of the game where i had just got the highwind so cloud wasnt with me. Guess the game didnt know what to do
OK, I finally have an explanation to your 63 about Blade Beam and why it's wrong. Blade Beam is completely Physical, but there are some peculiarities about it that set it apart from any other action. To understand this you need to know how the game prioritizes actions. There are five levels of action priorities that are given. When the game determines what action to perform next it looks through the queued actions (there can be up to 100 queued actions) and will assign the first level 0 action to be the next action. If there isn't one it assigns the first level 1 action, etc. Only one action can be going on at one time. Now there are three conflicts at work here. First, counters have a higher priority than Limit Breaks. This is so if you have multiple limits queued that counters can still be performed between them. Second, Blade Beam is actually two separate attacks. The wave that Cloud does and the after-shockwave that hits nearby targets. They are both queued as limit actions so in order for the entire limit break to not be interrupted, the first Blade Beam action actually prevents counters from being queued at all until it performs the after-shockwave check which re-enables them. Thirdly, the after-shockwave will not be queued if there is only one enemy. If it is triggered it will actually be considered as having connected with the original target even though it will do no damage or give any indication that it connected. That's the action that triggers the physical counters and will affect the original target. If it doesn't happen, the original target won't initiate a physical counter attack. It's different from other chained actions like Satan Slam because Satan Slam doesn't actually queue an additional action, but is chained to a second one and the action is not considered complete until the chain is finished. Actions like Comet2/KoR/Omnislash are singular actions with multiple damage calculations. Since I've debunked (or at least explained) your 63rd item I'll propose a new one: Damage is actually done before any actor performs an attack animation. As a correlation, targets are actually considered "dead" before the damage indicator shows up. They only perform their death animation as a result of their "damage reaction" animation. Some enemies don't actually die at the end of battle either. Battles end under four conditions: 1) all enemies have 0 HP and flagged as dead 2) all allies are either removed from battle or have 0 HP 3) all enemies' main scripts have been disabled (happens a lot with boss minions and "set pieces" like Ghirofelgo's chain) 4) no "final attack" actions are queued
Lets say that the FF7 "Earth" is the same size as ours, (and according to Supernova...it IS our Earth) That would make ZERO Bahamut roughly the size of Australia xD Thats a big dragon!

101 sephiroth didn't actually hit aerith in a vital spot to die, she was just unconscious, cloud drowned her.
She was run thought with a 6 foot long sword and then left unattended in a battle arena for at least 15 minutes with an open wound through the abdomen...yeah, she was fucking dead.
I don't see that as being accurate.
Watch the game theorists take on the stab. It probably would not have killed her just paralyzed her.
Game Theorists, eh?
Awww poor yuffie, clinging to cloud, SO CUTE!
37:14 Cait Sith was killed by ISIS
Oh shit, BRB... Hold muh WMDs...
I can't believe I watched it all.
veeone a pity
#101 chocobos max speed is 176 km- for ps1 version. Thanks for posting. Not sure why people feel the necessity to leave negative comments. Nobody asked them to watch it. I love all the Final Fantasy games personally.
100 things that I DON'T know about FF7?! Challenge accepted!
You win.
I remember reading about that theory at the ff7 Citadel years ago. Back in the site's hey day. Good times
Agree, Yuffie’s character can get way more deeper and sadder than people think if you pay attention to her.

FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN, CJ!
"KotR does not work with quadra magic."
Thank god... Sitting through that four times? No thanks. After beating the weapons I will never summon KotR again!
Bro did you seriously name Nanaki "doggie"??
LOL
The Earth. lol

"at least remember my name! its google!" I loled
text is sometimes hard to read :'(
Im surprised you didn't have Cid or Tifa getting Yuffie on the world map . Or dating Yuffie or Barret.
I've never tried this, but I heard that if the train hits Corel, you can buy Ultima for 50K
I believe that's correct.
It is, I failed the first time around and got it.
Fail to catch up to train: No reward
Get on the train but fail to stop: 50k price tag
Stop the train: Free
#101: Dazers can paralyze even the freaking Ruby Weapon, albeit for a short period of time.
This is really making me feel like playing this old gem again...
Just got the re-release on Steam... I have no regrets.
I never knew the music from the PC port sounded so bad.
20 I believe is incorrect. I once did not catch up to the train and it crashed into Corel. The ultima materia is then sold to you at a very high price, which I was able to obtain later on.
Thats only if you catch up to the train, but don't manage to stop it.
I knew about 9 of these. This is such a cool video with some very funny facts. Very informative, learned a lot, thank you for sharing.
Omg I remember that-
Lmao omnislash with a baseball bat XD
Negan would approve
Omnibash
Omnibat
0:15:00 i suffered that glitch, after like hours of fight, i wanted to die...
That's horrifying!
wow I am a ff7 veteran and I learnt some things from this video, great stuff.
37:54 true. Yuffie didn't steal all my materia.
the lack of music throughout alot of this video is unsettling
Indeed
Great video, but some of the text is un-readable, due to very poor contrast. It's okay though, the amount of work you put in, makes this an awesome video regardless. Thanks so much for posting this, I learned stuff I'm glad to know now.
What fascinates me with this game is that we clearly showed a world where corporatocracy dominates the world and destroys it with pollution ... the same thing is now happening on earth ..
Also did you know that when you access the extra space behind reactor 5 you ONLY fight screamers. Makes power source farming much simpler.
i would say that the most time consuming portion of a perfect save file is the hundreds of hours in the sunken gelinka morphing for all the sources for all the characters to get capped..
I was a bit sceptical about this video at first, but I'm actually glad to say that I'm impressed. You have created a very entertaining video! Thanks.
It's bad that I knew pretty much all of these things. I am addicted.
I wonder if he replayed the game every single time, naming himself AP: and 60,000 just to record that one portion of the game and every other time in the game.
I think you can chance names (I can chance on android)
-101- They're not "Limit Breaks," they're actually just "Limits." If you don't believe me just pay attention to the tutorial. The move is called a Limit, and the Break level refers to filling up the gauge and activating a Limit. When this happens during battle, a message pops up saying "LIMIT BREAK" which simply means "Limit activated" or "Limit available." For almost 20 years we've all been incorrectly calling them Limit Breaks.
and we will continue lol
+Eckoz Slovakia No doubt homie
Although true, simply calling it a "limit" makes no sense. Calling it a "limit break" however does make sense as it insinuates that they break their normal physical limits to execute an insanely powerful attack.
There's nothing remotely nonsensical about calling the moves "Limits." Yes, the terms were obviously chosen to allude to being pushed to the breaking point and reaching the limit of what you can take. That's why the mode of activation is called a "break level."
+Druffmaul It makes more sense to call it a limit break though. Because the attack exceeds their limit.
You could have made this video a lot shorter with editing.
lol is that your idea of constructive criticism or do you like to just state the obvious?
Michael Haynes HOLY SHIT, MATE, SHUT UP. He's just giving some goddamn tips!
machinimamarlon
the most of these tips are not true or are useless as hell, so.. please... I was here to find out something new, but all these lies made me just bored... he just want the damn klicks and likes, because almost noone knows much about Final Fantasy 7!
But hey... it works... :D
But was he rude or hating with his comment.......no. It's called a "Suggestion"
Weird, always figured Kjata was Earth elemental too and Typhoon Wind elemental. Mind = Blown.
Video game logic: a BOAT, INSIDE a man made tunnel can throw a character out of battle
I'm at number 1 and I didn't even know you could lose the final cort fondor battle and not get a game over
34:34 -I love what you did with the names there.
I just come back to this video for the names...
Yeah the names were hillarious
Playing this game for the first time completely changed my view on video games. Never before or after had I been so deeply invested in pixelated characters and their made up world. Even after so many years cosmo canyon song sends chills lol
And now i have to play FF7 again...... FUCK....
Another thing you might not know is Contain materia cannot target more than one enemy even linked with all or mega all materia.
i love looking at all the odd names hes used for his characters
'no serotonin for you' at 7:54
This was pretty cool.
+Jojo Joestar in talking about 24
+Benjamin F. I mean 20
at 35:20 their names though. NEroNeRoNerON, you have quite some time on your hands to have so many and such elaborate name jokes throughout all your videos, no?
It does not take long to make them.
But to progress thus far with each new character? Or do you have some means of changing their names ex post facto?
No, I just like to have subtle names.
Bryan David Black chocobo... hes a cheater.
Nice video! Pretty long, but very, very interesting!!
46:50 : .... Ooow.... I never cared that much about Aerith's death (when I was 9 just as much as today at 32, lol. Sorry), but damn, Yuffie's reaction makes me feel sadder than Aerith's death itself :'( ...
101 - It is possible to pernatently lose the materia Underwater if you reach the maximum amount of materias in your inventory.
Bobby Hill waw... it sounds like we can wait... looking at the current quality of the FF
Daniel M They already made a game that can surpass FFVII. They named it FFX.
I will admit that after a while I watched it for the names...
Beyond epic, this game defined the word "milestone".
This video doesn't even touch on the fact that you can resurrect Aeris with four tissues and a Mastered revive materia. It's also the reason that you can't sell Cloud's basic buster sword - Because it's essential for this.
0/10
She cant.
Period.
mistervanderveer she was pregnant!?
...oh wait.
"At least remember my name! It's Google!"
Heres something you might not know.. My FF7 game crashed when i fought yuffie in the forest and was at the part of the game where i had just got the highwind so cloud wasnt with me. Guess the game didnt know what to do
Falcorr i would try it
I just noticed now that you named your party to the SotN intro lines, amazing
The spinning truck made the video for me. So glad I could pay attention long enough to see it.
did this really need to be an hour long
I enjoyed every minute of it!
Since I've debunked (or at least explained) your 63rd item I'll propose a new one:
Damage is actually done before any actor performs an attack animation. As a correlation, targets are actually considered "dead" before the damage indicator shows up. They only perform their death animation as a result of their "damage reaction" animation. Some enemies don't actually die at the end of battle either. Battles end under four conditions:
1) all enemies have 0 HP and flagged as dead
2) all allies are either removed from battle or have 0 HP
3) all enemies' main scripts have been disabled (happens a lot with boss minions and "set pieces" like Ghirofelgo's chain)
4) no "final attack" actions are queued
That's interesting. Blade Beam certainly is a unique attack at least after all then.
This video is very interesting, but you drag some of the things for WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY longer than needed >.
Kudos to the, "What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets! Enough of this, have at you!" Castlevania Symphony of the Night!
Lets say that the FF7 "Earth" is the same size as ours, (and according to Supernova...it IS our Earth)
That would make ZERO Bahamut roughly the size of Australia xD
Thats a big dragon!
