Someone may have put it in the comments but another feature for the 2019 Tiguan SEL Premium R Line is the reverse mirror feature. It's not normally turned on in your menu but once it's turned on, when you go in reverse, your mirror will tilt down so you can see the curve while backing up, then once you put it in drive, it goes back up to the drive setting. Pretty cool.
Not really an exclusive Tigger trick, however very handy to know. Couldn't start mine the other day, realised that the key fob battery had expired :-( The battery (CR2025) is inexpensive, dead easy and super quick to replace yourself (lots of UA-cam videos for that). I have an SEL Tiguan, it has the driver preferences but I can not find the push buttons on the side of the driver seat to memorize the positions. Is there a way I can do it using the touch screen?
If open the door while in drive it will activate the parking brake and beep really loud. However, if you turn the left or right signal while driving the blind spot light will turn but NO SOUND. how can VW miss such important detail?. You cannot roll windows with key fob from factory, you will need to use a OBD tool like OBD Eleven or Vagcom to reprogram the system to enable this feature. See my site with instructions once you have the tool: "Open/close windows with keyfob" coolshrimpmodz.com/pages/guides/vw-vcds-obd-mods.html Many other features can be changed with this tool.
Secret features: driver heated seat noticeable not as warm as the passenger, near flooring the gas from a stop but not going anywhere for enough time to fear being hit by oncoming cars that should have never been an issue to evade in any other car -_-
The acceleration issue is scary. I'll apply a normal amount of pressure to pull out of a parking spot, into traffic, etc and either nothing or a rolling motion like if you have ever run out of gas and are barely moving happens. More pedal pressure, still nothing, eventually it picks up. Totally different than not having get up & go, I've had cars like that in the past. Only been a few months but it's happened enough now I gotta take it in to service to find out what's going on.
You can adjust the trunk door height to your favor by lifting the door to the height you like and press the trunk door button and wait till you hear beep tone and light ring/flashing twice and it’s reset.
The rearview camera cleaner blew my mind. I'm about to go check and see if my 2018 Tiguan has this feature too! The amount of times I've had to get out and clean my camera off due to salt and dirt being on it.
Neat features. In case it's not obvious for some people, the auto parking brake while opening the door with the car in drive is meant as a safety feature only. It would never be a good idea to purposely leave the car in drive and rely on the parking brake actuating all the time when you open the door. I can only assume that the car remains in drive from a mechanical standpoint. So someone sitting in there and hitting the gas pedal by accident could be dangerous. I've had my eye on the Tiguan and Alltrack. The clean styling and these nice features appeal to me. Power might be my only concern about the Tiguan, although it has much more space than the Alltrack.
I love how if you have your cruise control on and your vehicle approaches one in front of you it will slow down on its own and once you get out away or switch lanes it goes back to the set speed you had ♥️
Front wipers must be on to get the rear wiper to activate automatically in reverse (unless you have rain sensing wipers). Didn’t mention that but it should be common sense.
Good point, if the day is sunny, the rear wipers should not spray and wipe. Only in rainy day when using front wipers than put reverse will automatically wipe rear windows.
Thats good, I was thinking about that. The last thing you want to do on a clear day with a freshly washed car is have wiper fluid sprayed all over the back each time you reverse.
it's amazing how the German car manufacturers can come up with all these innovative little gadgets that the cars do...but they can't make their cars go a 100k miles trouble-free? I would give up all these little knick-knack gadgets for reliability any day 👍 (previous VW GTI owner here).
@@justindtackett Weather sealing issues? Like what? I know there are issues with the sunroofs or panoramic roofs, but haven't heard much else. These cars now a days are pretty reliable, its just the canbus systems and all the control modules go crazy after many years. That is for most makes now, not just VW. On my MK6 GTI in the 5 1/2 yrs I had that before I bought my MK7 only issue I had was a seeping water pump gasket. That was replaced under warranty. Only issue I had. The MK7 has been fine, I did have a blender door solenoid begin to click on me, replaced under warranty. Chalk that one up to crappy roads and 40 series tires the 2 just don't go hand and hand. haha
I’m in love with this car❤️❤️❤️ I went to a VW dealership and I mentioned the rear camera spray on the Tiguan and he had no idea he had to go and check! LOL. I was wondering what do you get on a basic trim do you get folding mirror/ blind spot/ rear camera sprayer and sunroof?
No name No you only get the folding mirrors on the SEL I believe and rear camera spray should be standard. Sunroof I THINK... started at the SE trim in 18
As a VW Salesperson I have run into problems with number 4 quite a lot. Turns out that feature is standard programming on European models and has to be integrated into American models system with the help of a VW technician. Hope this helps!
there's nothing new about any of these - my 2005 Golf TDI Comfortline, and my 2009 Tiguan have all of these as standard (in Australia), except for the reverse camera spray as neither had/have a VW reverse camera. All windows should go up when holding down the lock button too. .. *and here's one you may not know about* - If you've parked your car on a stinking hot day, and left it for a few hours, with all the windows up, when you return, you may see the driver's window cracked open about 1" - that's right, the car winds it down just enough to equalise the inside/outside air temps. Again, my 2005 Golf & 2009 Tiguan do this. I've read that should the car detect rain via its rain sensor, it will close it, though I haven't tried this out.
How do you save the driving mode and driver assist settings? They appear to return to default when the car is switched off. Having to re-input on every journey is annoying.
Feature 4 - closing all four windows DOES work, you just need to pull BOTH driver and passanger buttons up simultaneously😉 2018 VW Touran Czech Republic

something tells me this is only for the higher models lol
Actually, almost all features are available on every trim level! The only things that you will miss out on inside the S & SE are the numbered Seat position changer, and the Auto Windows Up by placing your finger on the Lock Sensor(since there isn't one). The Driver Profiles, Rearview Camera Cleaning, Auto rear wiper when in reverse, Open all windows with one push, and the auto engaging E-brake are available on ALL TRIMS.
@@BachmanVolkswagenLouisville Available even on the non-R line?
Yes!
Bachman Volkswagen driver profiles are not on the SE that I have.
Are these features just for the SEL trim?

Bachman Volkswagen so I will be able to set up a profile for both myself and my wife by key fob that will adjust the seats and mirrors? I just got a 2020 Tiguan SE!
Bachman Volkswagen also my SE does have the finger lock sensor on the door handle.
Apparently my 2020 Tiguan SE doesn’t have the options to personalized by key fob. Either that or I can’t find the menu for it. I went to car, settings and didn’t see any personalization options
Bachman Volkswagen apparently this isn’t true. The salesman I bought my SE from said that you can only personalize the SEL trims.
EPIC.
Mine in the 2020 model just over a month old r line tech model
I was told by a dealer in the uk the windows operates via your smart phone
What is the riliability of this car ?
Any of these work on 2019 VW Atlas SEL Premium? I got mine from you guys!
Awesome! We appreciate the business! Most of these should work on the Atlas!
wheres the horsepower from the mk1?
Is this pyrite silver?
I think so!
EXCELENTE!!! 💥💥💥
Can you heat up car from outside?
Yes, remote start
are those options available on se trim ?

@@BachmanVolkswagenLouisville Thank you
My 2011 E82 has key profile recognition lol
There is a massager button near the drivers seat
🧐🧐
My future car 🙌🏻
Are these features only for the R Line? I have the 2019 vw Tiguan SE 4motion.
Most of the features are available on all trims!
You cannot roll windows with key fob from factory, you will need to use a OBD tool like OBD Eleven or Vagcom to reprogram the system to enable this feature.
See my site with instructions once you have the tool: "Open/close windows with keyfob"
coolshrimpmodz.com/pages/guides/vw-vcds-obd-mods.html
Many other features can be changed with this tool.
@@orphanedhanyou Please take it to the dealership. Mine was doing the same thing, it's a known issue and VW is fixing it.
Why is the camera not in the VW logo? As before. You shouldn't wash! 🤔
Not sure! Probably less complicated to fix if it breaks
@@BachmanVolkswagenLouisville Yes, this is probably cheaper than tilt mechanics.
you hold down the uplock button
Another trick is you can make a pillow shoot out of the steering wheel by slamming into something.
Remember to remove glasses (sunglasses or driving spectacles} when doing this or the glass will mess up your face
Mike Summers happened to me today. RIP my 2017 vw cc
Lmao
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
If you forgot to close a window , hold the lock on key and it will close automatically
You can adjust the trunk door height to your favor by lifting the door to the height you like and press the trunk door button and wait till you hear beep tone and light ring/flashing twice and it’s reset.
Cleaning the rear PAC was a good info that I didn't know even after two years!
Lol, that is my most hated feature, you end up going under the speed limit quite often. And I cannot seem to turn it off.
Front wipers must be on to get the rear wiper to activate automatically in reverse (unless you have rain sensing wipers). Didn’t mention that but it should be common sense.
Good tip! Thanks for checking out the video!
Good video. Like them all. Would consider driving out that way from VA for my next VW
Hope to see you here soon! 🚙☺
I concur. Previous 10VW, an Audi and a Mercedes driver here.
Seems like VW is hit and miss. My MK7 golf has been very reliable except the typical weather sealing issues. 80k miles
Chalk that one up to crappy roads and 40 series tires the 2 just don't go hand and hand. haha
To do total closure just hold the lock button on the key and keep it held until they close. Opening is the reverse, use the unlock button.
To close the windows, just hold down the lock button on the remote. To open the windows, hold down the unlock button.
Sunroof I THINK... started at the SE trim in 18
well done and thank you for those tricks.
As a VW Salesperson I have run into problems with number 4 quite a lot. Turns out that feature is standard programming on European models and has to be integrated into American models system with the help of a VW technician. Hope this helps!
Anyone with access to OBD11 or vagcom can enable this. Doesn’t need to be a VW tech at all.
Obd2? Or obd11? Also how
Press and hold the lock button on the remote and all the windows will wind up.
How about press and hold unlock? All the windows go down?
@@victorchiu419 yes they do
there's nothing new about any of these - my 2005 Golf TDI Comfortline, and my 2009 Tiguan have all of these as standard (in Australia), except for the reverse camera spray as neither had/have a VW reverse camera.
Thanks for the video. The Seat/adjust profile memorization is only on the SEL line 😞
How do you save the driving mode and driver assist settings? They appear to return to default when the car is switched off. Having to re-input on every journey is annoying.
Why in the world would want your rear window wiped every time you put the car in reverse? Definitely turn that function off.
jlen82 Actually this function works only when the windshield wipers are engaged
