Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on UA-cam yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.

Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

I used this idea a couple of years ago and made a giant granny square blanket...it's one of my favorite blankets I've crocheted.

I bought a HUGE bag of random yarn from the thrift store a couple months ago and havent been able to come up with what to do with it all, so this is perfect!!
It is a genious way of using leftover yarn.made numerous huge blankets like this in late 1980 when I was at the peak of crochet .that reminds me i could definetly make another one this weekend. Thanks alot ma'am for a exellent tutorial 😊❤
Absolutely gorgeous don't think they are ugly at all, scrap busting projects can be so unique amazing and fit in any home.
Oh my, I need this. I have so much yarn and yarn scraps that I need to do something with. Thank you for this!
Thank you so much for posting this. I started mine on the weekend from a couch full of yarn I was going to giveaway and absolutely love it! It is one of the best things I've made in a long time - I love it!
You made my day...using them as rugs! Great idea!
I've made these for a longtime and give them as gifts. My tiny great nieces play on one and it's been spotted in various photos of the children, mum and dad pinch it in the evenings so I'm making the girls a new one. Also just finished one for a friend for Christmas. They last ages and wash well, lovely and warm. Great to make whilst watching TV.
i have so much yarn and I had no idea what to do with it until i can across this video! i am currently working on a scrap yarn blanket to get rid most of my yarn so I can get new yarn! i love this idea! this is going to be the third blanket I’ve crocheted and i’m excited to see how it turns out!
I love these types of blankets, I’ve made 3 lol 😂. I have a whole room packed with yarn. Good seeing you sweet lady 😘
I love these scrap blankets Robin yours looks fabulous , I made mine into a bedroom rug and it's so strong and hard wearing , it's been down a couple of years now and always washes well and looks so colourful , you've inspired me to do another thank you 😊Amanda xx💕
Love this! This is exactly what I do with my leftovers. A big hook and three or four strands at a time and just throwing all the colors in no particular order. It’s so much fun to make stashbuster afghans and they are so nice and warm and cuddly for cold weather. Yours is beautiful!
Yeaaah for stash busting throws!
What?! Omg. I didn’t even think this was possible!!! I will definitely make use of my leftover yarn from now on.
I am fairly newish to crocheting, thank you, pandemic. What a unique concept, I had never heard of it. I think your blanket is beautiful.
Thanks so much for this one Robin...almost finished using up my combo of scrap yarn and have to say , am pretty impressed with how it turned out!
Love this idea I have done this before, I've even made a big enough baby blanket with it too and an amigurumi to go with it!! And the tiny scrap pieces make great stuffing as well. If they're too stringy I just shred it with my dog brush
