The civilian has that line because in the campaign there are a few missions where you can control them, such as the battlecruiser piloting mission.
I'm sure you noticed by now, but while the line "The ship... out of danger?" is from Star Trek II, the clip you showed was actually from Star Trek III, which calls back to the same line.
As a fan of blizzard games this channel is absolutely amazing
Every time I open this video when I see this intro all that comes to my mind '' Man, he is one heck of a genius ''
The terran dropship commander not only uses the same lines, she sounds like the same actress.
You just popped on my UA-cam feed. I'm glad you did.
"You called in the thunder, now you'll reap the whirlwinds" - Seriously one of the most bad-ass quotes from SC. And ofc Tychus Finley with : "Hell..... it's about time"..
Castulo Guerra voices Duran. Jason Hayes voices: Artanis, Arbiter, Firebat, Cerberus Commander (his voice is of Artanis' without the Protoss effects), Overlord (his voice mixed with Horse effects), Probe. Stukov's VA for SC1 is still unknown. Same for DuGalle. Science Vessel is voiced by Tracy W. Bush. He also did some Hydralisk sound effects. Medic - I am pretty sure Tiffany Hayes voiced this unit. The voice sounds more of her than Campbell. Pretty sure she voices the Dryads from WarCraft III as well along with the female Villagers.
Oh man. It is very interesting how they created zerg sounds. They are so uniqe.
You sir have my attention! I loved your references series for Warcraft 3 and now you're tackling my FAVOURITE RTS game of all time, I can't wait :D
Also I noticed that you missed out on all the jokes Kerrigan makes that involves the fact she's a telepath
I ennjoyed this! It brings back a lot of good memories!
One the sounbites in-game which was not a standard sound, so I could never find it, but I remember it clearly, is when Kerrigan just turned into the Queen of Blades, and you have retrieve something from an installation. The level strata with marines shooting at you, while one yells: You'll never make it out of here alive, bitch!
And 3 secondes later: they're dead.
But that line man, it's epic.
This was awesome! A huge blast from the past! I really appreciate the work you put into this video, including having the character’s faces on the screen. That was awesome
The BC said "In the Cage" not "engage" which is also a Star Trek reference.
0:36 every time i heard this sound effect on a movie/tv show i thought "hey they took this from Starcraft, why is this sound so popular ?" lol
Valkyrie afterburner sound effect is actually used in the Brood War campaign, in the mission where she debuts.
Que bueno lo de Duran en 7:46 Jajajajaja! Good video my friend!
7:05
There's something so funny about this Star Trek clip you used.
I thought the Valkyrie said "Of course my dear."
3:10 Reap the whirlwind is a reference to WW2 air general Bomber Harris. His speech before/during the Dresden Bombing I think.
Wait, the Battlecruiser says 'engage'? I still hear it as 'in the cage'...
these references and the voice acting gives me chills for some reason. so many good parts of the movies being shown.
Wow, thanks Abelhawk. I always wanted someone to do this. But now you are here for starcraft. Can't wait for more (Specially zerg characters)
blown away by your reference skills man, epic!
that intro was amazing. Good job
haha this is awesome. i wasn't even thinking about the Apocalypse Now references before. Dropship is iconic for sure lol
6:17 I always thought this was a reference to the Jetsons
I always thought that the siege tanks "ready to roll out" was a reference to transformers "transform and roll out" given that they deploy and transform into turrets.
Boy, this was beyond coolness. Thanks a lot!
Ah back in 2000 when I was playing SC1 my English wasn't even that good, still, I collected all the quotes from the game, albeit I didn't understand more than half of them. Now that I see them again, it brings back all the fun! Thanks, Abelhawk!
Thank you, Abelhawk. Thanks to you, I discovered Duran Duran's "Is There Something I Should Know?". Great song. :D
Oh man, this was awesome, I remembered catching a few of them back then. I loved it when not everything was about multiplayer ironically this was one of the games that launched so strong those online battles across gamers.
For the record. Blizzard originally had it set that you could produce civilians from the Command Center and place them in the que lines at each building that produces units but they changed it to what it became because it was easy to destroy them.
I think the “I like the cut of your jib” is a reference to Mr burns as well. I believe he says it sometime when talking about homer. I can’t remember what episode though
"Engage." is a reference? Isn't it more like generic term to use when you're... well, engaging?
I think it's safe to assume it's a reference to Star Trek because of the way it's said is very reminiscent of it, not to mention there's a bunch of other Star Trek references in the game.
I always thought he said "In the cage!"
@@PedanticPig I always thought he was refferencing Johny Cage from Mortal Kombat xD
what about "excellent" from simpsons? lol
Context.
0:03 Is Abelhawk a hero unit? What are his funny quotes and references?
You should've played the beginning of Durans Duran's Is There Something I Should Know, because Samir's "Please please tell me now" quote actually has the drum beat from the beginning of that song.
2:42 "Please state the nature of your medical emergency" is from Star Trek Voyager, you include a clip from Voyager but the date and name of source references the original series which aired in the 60s, voyager aired in the 90s.
Ah the nostalgia hit me right in the groin
The Marine does need more love. I guess it's not a reference, but if you click repeatedly he says: 'Make up your mind' and 'Oh my God, he's whacked!'.
2:44 that's Voyager and it certainly wasn't from 1966-1969.
Love the little animated icon of you in the command panel
If you click again after Duke says his'"Y'all need discipline" line, he'll respond with another line: "Especially you"
blucher was a prussian general known for using cavalry extensively and aggressively so alot of dead horses
Goliath- "Drop your weapon, you have 15 seconds to comply."
