In Polish, one of Paladin's quotes (the one about a sword, horse and a helmet) seems to have been spiced up. Rough translation: _"That's a sword? What a luxury!"_ _"That's a horse?! They changed it to... another hard to translate phrase. :/ I'd say it'd be the closest to _"Let's get [those] hammers movin'!"_ Still pretty cool. :) In Reforged, they changed two of Muradin's _"Celebrity Jeopardy"_ references to other game shows, like _"could I get a safety net?"_ ("Who Wants to be a Millionaire?") or _"One note, please."_ ("Name That Tune"). They kept the "I'll play your game, you rogue" and "Come on, you nancy boy!" lines because they still make sense out of context. The original, more literal translations were still funny, simply because of how _random_ they felt. I mean, "I'll take The Rapist for 500"? :D There's probably more differences, but those are the most notable ones I remembered off the top of my head.
Keep in mind that the sound, not just the graphics, improved between WCII and WCIII. So voice actors are one thing but there's also a difference in playback quality.

the game was changed before its final version, but these changes were never notified in time to other locations such as Spain or France, that is why players from other countries heard audios that in the English version are not

The reason I assume they changed the Footman's voice was to match the weaker status compared to the Grunt. If you look at the Captain unit it sounds more regal like the original Footman's, and also is more comparable stat-wise to the Grunt like in War2.
My thoughts are because Warcraft 3 was where Blizzard’s anti-Alliance train started, that has been going on continuously to this very day. Think about it! Proud human footman > rowdy roughneck footman Proud human knight > exaggerated Don Quixote with a butt-chin Powerful mage > bored and aloof archmage Proud human Paladin > overexaggerated smiter of the evil with great vengeance and fury! That is, of course, to say nothing of the fact that the Alliance hero (Arthas) becomes evil, all the leaders of the kingdoms of Lordaeron are so far up their own asses that they won’t listen to Medivh’s warnings, the Humans getting no campaign in Frozen Throne, and of course Lord Strawman (aka Garithos). At least Daelin Proudmore had a good reason not to trust the Horde.
@@OneTrueVikingbard Humans do have a campaign in Frozen Throne....in fact, it's a wonderful twist to the human campaign from RoC because you get to use the human units that we missed out on in RoC. Like the elven archers, the dragonhawk riders, and the ballistae. It's actually kind of sad that Frozen Throne altered the human/high elf ballistae from Roc version, but still. I admit, I would have loved to get a campaign focused on Admiral Proudmoore and the Theramoore units. Still...

In russian version Arthas says "there is no need to bow" in both what and pissed quotes and "for my father (the king)" two times in attack which is same as spanish. Maiev in russian says "Illidan is out there somewhere" as yes quote but it's only in russian version. By the way I hate that a lot of quotes in spanish are replaced with the same ones. For example all 3 attack quotes for priest is "fire!".
Any of these exist in french version, but the priest attack quote is also the same at anytime, although it's different from the spanish one, instead of "Fire !", he says "Our curse will cut you off the road !" over and over...

About the Alliance: SoftClub tried to give dwarves a caucasian accent (well you know - mountain people like the scots) but only gryphon rider has this accent. Dwarf was translated like "Гном"/"Gnome" because from the time of translation of Tolkien we have problem with dwarves and gnomes. "Dragohawk" is just "Hawk". And he also say "Glory to the hight elves" not "the blood elves". But Speall Breaker became cooler because he was translated like "Witcher" (yes after 2015 it is really funny). the German version is very similar to the Spanish version you have shown. He said the same with the eyes open and all. the only problem with the german version is the voice of arthas. its not very good at all, the rest is ok. If you want to kow more just ask.
I think Blizzard removed references to Warhammer after TFT (and all subsequent patches to both RoC and TFT) due to copyright issues. This is why they changed Gyro copters, Steam Tanks etc
Not really. One of the more memorable quotes from Toy Story is the "I have been chosen" it really would be hard to rationalize the quote "I have been chosen by the big metal hand in the sky" if it didn't come from Toy Story. Because the joke or in this case, the reference wouldn't have made sense without the toy story reference. At best as you'd probably put it, a neat fourth wall break. But the point is, they wouldn't have added that line in, if it likely wasn't because of Toy Story because it's hard to rationalize "The Claw! I Have Been Chosen" and not make the connection to the "Big Metal Hand in the sky" I feel like if it was just a fourth wall break it would probably be something like "AHHHH! Why is there a giant metal hand in the sky! RUN!!!! Oh....wait...." or something to that effect.
Kael has a voice line where he says "i sense something... Elusive" is possibly a star wars episode 1 the phantom menace reference, obi wan says it very early at the first act of the movie
In the french dub of the end campaign clip, Arthas says "succeding you"... And then, as he does the stabby stabby, FROSTMOURNE wispers "let your eyes close..." That is just the right amount of creepy to engage the undead campaign ;7

Yeah, I just gave the older reference the benefit of the doubt. Plus, the ape specifically says "humans" rather than just "the only good X is a dead X."
"We're currently hovering at a comfortable altitude of 15 feet." Odd. I always imagined the flying units of the WarCraft games to be flying higher than that. But maybe not. Considering archers and axethrowers can hit flying units, maybe they _aren't_ flying all that high above the ground. Would an archer be able to hit something 15 feet in the air? Yes. Hundreds of feet? No.
In a Polish version of the game, Arthas and Illidan were voiced by the same person. You'd think that would make one cutscene in particular awkward, but in fact he's so talented that while playing I had absolutely no idea this is the same voice actor. On a side note, I have absolutely no idea why the fenomenal Polish dub of the game, by some considered better than the original, was replaced by a worse dub in the reforged version of the game.
Usually, Spanish dub is inferior to the original language. Literal meanings being used, idiom jokes that get lost in another language, etc. But Warcraft III in Spanish manages not only to be on par, but sometimes to surpass the original. Hats off to the guys who did the localisation, because it is amazing.
Well polish version also has some of these, like No need to bow one being a 'what' line instead and Arthas's line in the culling. Refferences got localized to stuff poles would get better tho not all of them, some of the voice acting is better some is as good, there few rare hiccups with incorrect spelling of stuff like Nordrassil and 1 case of Doomhammer being spelt a bit weird but its quite superb asie of that. It isnt nearly as good in TFT tho, sounds like they had less budget or it was a different team, they seemingly couldnt get Thrall's polish voice actor for Rexxar's campaign so he got replaced and its quite bad and not fixable because he died in 2007 :/ Also dwarves are far better and more varied, they arent all just spewing around in same scottish accent(which polish people wouldnt even get atleast at the time). Many of them are far more energetic and fitting than originals, especially with undead, necromancer sounds far too young in english but he is fittingly old and creepy in polish version. There is a bit of theatricality with performances in all the unit lines, and it's great, far too many of these in english are more dull, well except for fan favourite's ofcourse like Peon's and peasants. I miss this kind of voice acting, we only got so good rarely with these, modern blizzard dubbing and translations are quite shit and lazy, and only few returning actors help it up a little but direction and writing is really bad. They dont try to get voice alike's of deceased actors either. I cant find also who voiced few of melee match heroes like blademaster, actors werent that well credited and some of them can change their voice so much that its quite hard to tell in few cases.
Polish Thrall voice actor (which is now deceased) also voices Malfurion, my only guess behind why Thrall got his voice changed and Malfurion didn't is that Durotar campaign wasn't finished at the time of release and the actor simply declined to come back for the role in the unestimated future (probably because of the health issues, which later caused his death). That's just my guess though, don't read too much into it. Also you probably know this but the necromancer is voiced by the same voice actor. that did the Paladin, Footman, Rifleman, Knight, and acolyte voices, (he also voices Tyrael in Diablo III). And about the old voice acting, , in my opinion it was better mostly because polish localization teams used stage performers as the voice actors at the time (adding that dramatic and energetic feeling to their voices) and now for some reasons they use celebrities which read most of the given dialogue with no emotion.
Arthas still says "there's no need to bow" in russian version. Which is one of the best voice acting in games. They missed 99% of references like from this video, but instead they made their own. For example, orc shaman's quote: "Do orcs dream of electropigs?"
To me, warcraft 3 voice acting sounds a lot better than W2 voice acting. Probably because I've experienced W3 in my childhood while you experienced W2 in yours.

HIs normal lines are pretty average. His attack is: "FOUL BEAST!" and his annoyed lines seem to indicate he's not happy with his job. He wishes he became a farmer and that his pay is too low.
The Sylvanas quote "I can hit a bird in the eye... flying" comes from great movie "The Unforgiven" (1992), starring Clint Eastwood. It's very hard to google that quote, but it's actually mentioned twice in this movie.
Still miss wc2 footmen, if only they can get an impersonator to redub them for wow or war 3 reforged. They made me love alliance, I was a horde mostly so to hear them made me question which side to join each new game.

Maiev was one of the Watchers that was watching over him in prison. Tyrande came and killed a bunch of her Watchers and freed Illidan, so she's trying to hunt him down, and she has a big grudge against Tyrande for setting him free. As for Rexxar, his campaign was just conceived at the last minute, so they didn't really have a story beyond the fight with Proudmoore. That's just the end of his Warcraft 3 campaign. He can be found in WoW though, so his story does continue.

You forgot another reference with the Priest's quote "I have been chosen by the big metal hand in the sky!" which is a self-reference to the player's cursor, which is a big metal hand that might look like it's in the sky "choosing" that unit.
The best thing about that, is that this is actually refered in the Lore. In Warcraft II; when they created the Paladins (basically in-game templars) they where champions chosen by their god... anh hence their name: Knigths of the SILVER HAND XDDD It's all a reference to the damm cursor XDDDD
Everyone keeps bringing up Toy Story for the "I Have been Chosen, by the big metal hand in the sky!", but I think it also is a poke at the different cursors for the different factions of Warcraft 3, in particular how the Alliance one is a Gauntlet. You also left out the Blood Elf Engineer ("'It'll be up in no time!' Is an official slogan of the blood elf engineer's union, and in no way should be interpreted as the reasonable amount of time required to complete a task") and the Footman Captain ("I should have been a farmer, like my father wanted..." "...Lousy pay, constant danger..." "...Well, at least I get to hobnob with Royalty.")
While I might be talking out of my posterior orifice here and don't have the original CDs within easy reach to check, I'm pretty sure the "This warhammer cost me 40K" was removed during the transition from ROC to TFT. The timeframe matches the general Blizzard attempts to safeguard themselves from Games Workshop's increasingly aggressive lawyers at the time - like renaming Gyrocopters and Steam Tanks and dialing down the Ancient Egyptian aesthetic for the Crypt Lord and Obsidian Statues/Destroyers compared to the beta model.
Bill roper got better at accents, which is why he sounds more English and less American in Warcraft 2. Notice in Warcraft 2 he is clearly trying to sound English yet his pronunciation "your command" (as an example) is American. The classic Warcraft 2 narrator/footmen voice is thus an American (Californian) putting on a quasi-medieval English accent. It sounds awesome though and is a shame it was changed for 3, where he now sounds more Received Pronunciation English, more like David wenham's RP he uses in lotr and 300. It's still American though "don't ask, don't tell" (notice the American pronunciation of ask).

I know this subject isn't relevant to this video but I don't know where else to say it so I'll just say it here I personally really like the bonus campaign in the frozen throne and I really like the mountain king's abilities so personally I would love it if there was another campaign in Warcraft that was very similar to the bonus campaign but you got to play as a hero with very similar abilities and stats to a mountain king

In Reforged, they changed two of Muradin's _"Celebrity Jeopardy"_ references to other game shows, like _"could I get a safety net?"_ ("Who Wants to be a Millionaire?") or _"One note, please."_ ("Name That Tune"). They kept the "I'll play your game, you rogue" and "Come on, you nancy boy!" lines because they still make sense out of context. The original, more literal translations were still funny, simply because of how _random_ they felt. I mean, "I'll take The Rapist for 500"? :D
There's probably more differences, but those are the most notable ones I remembered off the top of my head.
Keep in mind that the sound, not just the graphics, improved between WCII and WCIII. So voice actors are one thing but there's also a difference in playback quality.

I always loved the lines made by mortar team's especially their attack lines "HEY YOU CATCH!!" and "EAT HOT DEATH!!"
Mortar combat!!!! is a street fighter reference, I think. Since they fight in that game (combat).
The reason I assume they changed the Footman's voice was to match the weaker status compared to the Grunt. If you look at the Captain unit it sounds more regal like the original Footman's, and also is more comparable stat-wise to the Grunt like in War2.
My thoughts are because Warcraft 3 was where Blizzard’s anti-Alliance train started, that has been going on continuously to this very day.

SoftClub tried to give dwarves a caucasian accent (well you know - mountain people like the scots) but only gryphon rider has this accent.
Dwarf was translated like "Гном"/"Gnome" because from the time of translation of Tolkien we have problem with dwarves and gnomes.
"Dragohawk" is just "Hawk". And he also say "Glory to the hight elves" not "the blood elves".

I think Blizzard removed references to Warhammer after TFT (and all subsequent patches to both RoC and TFT) due to copyright issues. This is why they changed Gyro copters, Steam Tanks etc

Not really. One of the more memorable quotes from Toy Story is the "I have been chosen" it really would be hard to rationalize the quote "I have been chosen by the big metal hand in the sky" if it didn't come from Toy Story.
Because the joke or in this case, the reference wouldn't have made sense without the toy story reference. At best as you'd probably put it, a neat fourth wall break.
But the point is, they wouldn't have added that line in, if it likely wasn't because of Toy Story because it's hard to rationalize "The Claw! I Have Been Chosen" and not make the connection to the "Big Metal Hand in the sky"
I feel like if it was just a fourth wall break it would probably be something like "AHHHH! Why is there a giant metal hand in the sky! RUN!!!! Oh....wait...." or something to that effect.

Yeah, I just gave the older reference the benefit of the doubt. Plus, the ape specifically says "humans" rather than just "the only good X is a dead X."

Odd. I always imagined the flying units of the WarCraft games to be flying higher than that. But maybe not. Considering archers and axethrowers can hit flying units, maybe they _aren't_ flying all that high above the ground. Would an archer be able to hit something 15 feet in the air? Yes. Hundreds of feet? No.
In a Polish version of the game, Arthas and Illidan were voiced by the same person. You'd think that would make one cutscene in particular awkward, but in fact he's so talented that while playing I had absolutely no idea this is the same voice actor.
On a side note, I have absolutely no idea why the fenomenal Polish dub of the game, by some considered better than the original, was replaced by a worse dub in the reforged version of the game.

Usually, Spanish dub is inferior to the original language. Literal meanings being used, idiom jokes that get lost in another language, etc. But Warcraft III in Spanish manages not only to be on par, but sometimes to surpass the original. Hats off to the guys who did the localisation, because it is amazing.

Well polish version also has some of these, like No need to bow one being a 'what' line instead and Arthas's line in the culling.
Refferences got localized to stuff poles would get better tho not all of them, some of the voice acting is better some is as good, there few rare hiccups with incorrect spelling of stuff like Nordrassil and 1 case of Doomhammer being spelt a bit weird but its quite superb asie of that. It isnt nearly as good in TFT tho, sounds like they had less budget or it was a different team, they seemingly couldnt get Thrall's polish voice actor for Rexxar's campaign so he got replaced and its quite bad and not fixable because he died in 2007 :/
Also dwarves are far better and more varied, they arent all just spewing around in same scottish accent(which polish people wouldnt even get atleast at the time).
Many of them are far more energetic and fitting than originals, especially with undead, necromancer sounds far too young in english but he is fittingly old and creepy in polish version. There is a bit of theatricality with performances in all the unit lines, and it's great, far too many of these in english are more dull, well except for fan favourite's ofcourse like Peon's and peasants.
I miss this kind of voice acting, we only got so good rarely with these, modern blizzard dubbing and translations are quite shit and lazy, and only few returning actors help it up a little but direction and writing is really bad. They dont try to get voice alike's of deceased actors either. I cant find also who voiced few of melee match heroes like blademaster, actors werent that well credited and some of them can change their voice so much that its quite hard to tell in few cases.
Polish Thrall voice actor (which is now deceased) also voices Malfurion, my only guess behind why Thrall got his voice changed and Malfurion didn't is that Durotar campaign wasn't finished at the time of release and the actor simply declined to come back for the role in the unestimated future (probably because of the health issues, which later caused his death). That's just my guess though, don't read too much into it. Also you probably know this but the necromancer is voiced by the same voice actor. that did the Paladin, Footman, Rifleman, Knight, and acolyte voices, (he also voices Tyrael in Diablo III). And about the old voice acting, , in my opinion it was better mostly because polish localization teams used stage performers as the voice actors at the time (adding that dramatic and energetic feeling to their voices) and now for some reasons they use celebrities which read most of the given dialogue with no emotion.
The "Succeeding you, Father" line for me is better than Spanish version.
Arthas still says "there's no need to bow" in russian version. Which is one of the best voice acting in games. They missed 99% of references like from this video, but instead they made their own. For example, orc shaman's quote: "Do orcs dream of electropigs?"

HIs normal lines are pretty average. His attack is: "FOUL BEAST!" and his annoyed lines seem to indicate he's not happy with his job. He wishes he became a farmer and that his pay is too low.

The Sylvanas quote "I can hit a bird in the eye... flying" comes from great movie "The Unforgiven" (1992), starring Clint Eastwood. It's very hard to google that quote, but it's actually mentioned twice in this movie.

Maiev was one of the Watchers that was watching over him in prison. Tyrande came and killed a bunch of her Watchers and freed Illidan, so she's trying to hunt him down, and she has a big grudge against Tyrande for setting him free.
As for Rexxar, his campaign was just conceived at the last minute, so they didn't really have a story beyond the fight with Proudmoore. That's just the end of his Warcraft 3 campaign. He can be found in WoW though, so his story does continue.

And honestly, the fact you have to listen to the mortar teams do a tacky, obnoxious MORTAL KOMBAAAAAAAAAT reference each time a new one pops out the workshop is much, much worse than the gyrocopter's death sound.
You forgot another reference with the Priest's quote "I have been chosen by the big metal hand in the sky!" which is a self-reference to the player's cursor, which is a big metal hand that might look like it's in the sky "choosing" that unit.
The best thing about that, is that this is actually refered in the Lore. In Warcraft II; when they created the Paladins (basically in-game templars) they where champions chosen by their god... anh hence their name: Knigths of the SILVER HAND XDDD

Everyone keeps bringing up Toy Story for the "I Have been Chosen, by the big metal hand in the sky!", but I think it also is a poke at the different cursors for the different factions of Warcraft 3, in particular how the Alliance one is a Gauntlet.
You also left out the Blood Elf Engineer ("'It'll be up in no time!' Is an official slogan of the blood elf engineer's union, and in no way should be interpreted as the reasonable amount of time required to complete a task") and the Footman Captain ("I should have been a farmer, like my father wanted..." "...Lousy pay, constant danger..." "...Well, at least I get to hobnob with Royalty.")
While I might be talking out of my posterior orifice here and don't have the original CDs within easy reach to check, I'm pretty sure the "This warhammer cost me 40K" was removed during the transition from ROC to TFT. The timeframe matches the general Blizzard attempts to safeguard themselves from Games Workshop's increasingly aggressive lawyers at the time - like renaming Gyrocopters and Steam Tanks and dialing down the Ancient Egyptian aesthetic for the Crypt Lord and Obsidian Statues/Destroyers compared to the beta model.
Bill roper got better at accents, which is why he sounds more English and less American in Warcraft 2. Notice in Warcraft 2 he is clearly trying to sound English yet his pronunciation "your command" (as an example) is American. The classic Warcraft 2 narrator/footmen voice is thus an American (Californian) putting on a quasi-medieval English accent. It sounds awesome though and is a shame it was changed for 3, where he now sounds more Received Pronunciation English, more like David wenham's RP he uses in lotr and 300. It's still American though "don't ask, don't tell" (notice the American pronunciation of ask).

I was going to play Warcraft 2 but I can't because my computer said when I put the disc in"warning this game cannot be payed because it is a 16 bit game and you have a 64 bit computer. Try asking the manufacturer if there is a 64 bit copy".

I know this subject isn't relevant to this video but I don't know where else to say it so I'll just say it here I personally really like the bonus campaign in the frozen throne and I really like the mountain king's abilities so personally I would love it if there was another campaign in Warcraft that was very similar to the bonus campaign but you got to play as a hero with very similar abilities and stats to a mountain king
