  • Hi, in this video I'll show you how to test your oil pressure gauge and temp gauge with the cluster out of the car. I'll also show you how to test the bulbs and what trace connections are what. This is specifically for a 1975 Pontiac Firebird Formula, but may be similar to other years and models. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for this video, it’s very informative. My temp gauge isn’t working on my 76 T/A, it’s pegged out to the max.

I have exact problem of temp gauge not working. What did you figure out was the problem of the gauges not working, I may have same issue. Thank you

The circuit board was bad. There was also corrosion on the ground studs/nuts that hold the board to the cluster. You have to sand the nuts and the washers really good. I actually put mine back together with the new board and it still didn't work. Sanded the nuts down now she's good to go.

I will try that, I put in a new board as well, did not work, Studs/nuts don't look corroded, but it is worth a shot. Thank you for the information

My temp gauge works until I turn on the headlights. And when I use directional signals it jumps up. Ground?🤔 79 Formula.

Possibly. Check all your grounds. Block to body, body to frame, battery to block, battery to core support. There is a ground wire that is attached to your dash on the bottom left below the light switch. Make sure that is good. Or just attach a jumper from the metal on dash to the body and see if that works. Put a jumper from the housing of the temp sensor to the block too. Bad grounds do strange things.

@@whatatool I'll check out all of that. Thanks.
