How do i go about applying power to gauge cluster and curcuit board while on the bench? Id like to test before i re-install. Anyone help me out? Thx.
Hi man, awesome video. I've got an old Daihatsu cluster and some of the trace to the temp gauge has degraded (it looks like copper has scraped or flaked off).
Apparently it causes the gauge to ping up to fully hot from time to time - definitely not the kind of crying wolf you want the car to be doing.
Any ideas on how you would go fixing it? It seems I could run some So(l)der over the degraded bit, but would that not melt the plastic circuit?
I just fixed the wire traces in my 78 GMC motorhome and used a short length of wire and was very careful with the soldering iron and managed to fix it. You need to be carefull not to overheat the plastic and focus on the wire and attach it to the circuit directly
the copper adhesive tape. where'd you get it? I can't find any anywhere! please supply a link.

Let me know if you can't find any
The tape is used for stained glass and you can pick it up at any hobby lobby or similar shop.
Too much camera movement. Zoom out and hold still. Great info, though! Thanks.
