My favorites are Muk and Scolipede, and I really don't think many Poison types get enough respect. Heck, Scolipede (something very similar and the same size) existed on this planet at one time.
I don’t really have much interaction with the genera Pokemon community so I can’t say for sure but does either Golurk or Palossand overshadow the other? I love both of them.
Can’t wait to see which Pokémon need more love! Thanks for another great list most Royal of Cubones 💙🐱💙 (P.S Sorry Mr Mime but the Detective Pikachu movie sealed your fate for me 😖😖😖)
Raichu was actually used a lot in competitive play if I remember correctly. That said, the fact that it ALSO has a cool Alolan variant makes it even more overshadowed, because who would want boring ol' Raichu when they can have the cute pancake-loving psychic type electric surfer Raichu?
Great vid, but I think the reason Team Aqua doesn’t use Whiscash is because it’s part ground type which is the main type of their enemy (team Magma). But I still agree with most of this vid :)
Funny thing Emboar being overshadowed by Infernape is it's also the case for their mythological inspirations as well. They're both based off characters from Journey to the West, Sun Wukong and Zhu Bazhie (iirc, case in point lol) where Bazhie (Emboar) is the second strongest of their crew after Wukong (Infernape). And is depicted as the goofy, lazy comic relief who gets the group in trouble a lot
I love base Rotom and Porygon-Z. I‘m surprised you didn’t mention the fact that Porygon-Z never even got to be the focus of an Anime episode due to the whole Electric Soldier Porygon incident despite being incredibly unique and easily able to hold its own in a 22-minute episode. And with Rotom, the only form besides the base I have used is Wash because it does a cute little dance when you pet it in PokéMonAmi. The other ones I always thought were a little weird, especially Rotom-Fan with its Flying-type *and* Levitate ability.
I had a Porygon Z in all of my playthroughs up till Ultra Sun. I have a head cannon that mine is a loose cannon and very crazy. It really helps during battles
He really just put porygon-z here over blissey. Sure porygon2 is a great stall Pokemon but z fills a completely different role as a glass cannon. Blissey, on the other hand is pretty much just worse chansey with a bit more special attack.
I was actually kind of offended seeing Raichu at the number one spot, but when you started talking I realized how right you are. I never even thought about using Raichu till my Alola play through, but after that I appreciated it more and went back and used one in a Emerald play through, now I love Raichu
Its just sad how underrated The Black n' White starters are. Emboar, Serperior and Samourott are great - they're some of the only pure typed starters in the games. Serperior is quick and powerful, Emboar is strong and tanky and Samourott has exellent special attack.
If Ash's Pkachu was ever to evolve Raichu would probably be more popular as it would be the main Pokemon in the Anime. But I don't think that will ever happen now.
Haha this video is so old but I stumbled upon it recently and couldn't agree more! Especially raichu! For me, I love the whole line. Its so incredibly satisfying getting a pichu and eventually getting a raichu. It feels like the line just gets better and better. I always like to evolve my pikachu towards the end-ish and make it a dramatic "cinematic" moment. Find a really cool place and pretend I'm dramatically offering my partner a thunder stone lol. Just feels so satisfying and complete. I think it goes back to playing Shining Pearl at 9, my very first pokemon game. I was a total n00b and ended up accidentally switching the pikachu I got with my starter pokemon at the front of my party. Like an idiot I couldn't figure out how to switch it back so by the end of the game I had the most over powered raichu ever lol. She was my GOAT and obviously the first pokemon I always pulled out. I grew so attached to her, she was my staple, she got my through Cynthia. Now I must have a pikachu and raichu in my playthroughs, a game just doesn't feel complete without one. I tend to favor female pikachus/raichus with brave/rash/bold nature (even though its not the best competitively) since thats what I first caught. (Okay, and the heart tail is waaaay cuter in my opinion lol) Getting raichu is my favorite moment in every generation, raichu is such a cute and cool design. It just feels like the natural conclusion. I love pikachu amd pichu, but raichu needs more love!! Its such a cool pokemon and awesome Evolution for an already cute and cool pokemon!
Another point against Porygon-Z is that the entire evolutionary line got removed from the anime due to a rather notorious episode Porygon starred in causing mass seizures despite said seizures not being Porygon's fault. I feel like a better work around might have been not to include Porygon in fight sequences, but instead the entire line loses exposure due to one episode.
Raichu was my first favorite pokemon, though it quickly had competition from Mew. It's still usually my answer and always top 3. Though I don't see Alolan form as a slap in the face. It made me excited to get ot use Raichu in another generation again.
Raichu has honestly been one of my favourites since Gen1, right after Nidoking. The Lt Surge episode was the first episode of the anime I ever watched so I had no real attachment to Ash and Pikachu, I think even then I could understand what plot armour was even if I didn't know the term.

Ghost type best type, I will always love rotom in all his forms. Speaking of ghosts, porygon-z has nothing on dusknoir. Poor guy is completely obsolete compared to dusclops.
I second that, i remember having such a powerful sableye in sapphire. Basically nothing can deal major damage to it with that ghost/dark typing. But then they added fairy and i no longer have all type interactions memorized.

6. Maybe it never occurred to me because I don't really think of Mimikyu as a "Pikachu clone," but yeah, I see it. 5. Emboar may have a good move pool, but it's also ugly and only in the RU tier for a reason, so I don't think Blaziken and Infernape are entirely to blame for it being overshadowed. 4. Valid points; maybe I just never thought of Whiscash as being "overshadowed" because it plays a somewhat prominent role in the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. 3. It's true that people don't use regular Rotom as much as some of the other forms in competitive battle, but I wouldn't call it overshadowed; it's still beloved as a species. 2. Porygon-Z is still in the OU tier on Smogon after all this time, so I don't think people have lost that much love for it. I know it's the form I prefer using (I'm not a big fan of using Eviolite competitively) 1. Wow, everything you said…this is a big reason why Raichu is my favorite Pokemon.

This soundtrack give so much nostalgia put me to tears back n my child hood only played up to platinum version but I'm a old school gen 1 fan n the 90s
This was clickbait i didnt see a single dewpider
Maybe it’s number 7
@Ryan Wieber ok no put em up we gotta fight now
Exactly, it was overshadowed
At least he didn’t use Gardevoir with tits.
@Ryan Wieber ??? At least make your own comment smh
With gen 6, Greninja overshadowed both of the the other starters, which is a shame because Delphox has a cool type combo (and ended the fire fighting trend) and is pretty good while the chespin line is pretty fun to use.
Yea like most of the other generations starters receive somewhat equal love but greninja basically became the X and Y mascot
I feel like the same has happened with the Alola Starters as well sadly. Incineroar seems to have overshadowed Decidueye and Primarina now. I like them both a lot more than Incineroar. Especially Primarina, because she's my favorite Starter Pokémon
@@AuraStrikeAce Decidueye is really cool, I chose Rowlett in Pokemon Sun. Though in Ultra Sun I picked Litten, and honestly even if Incineroar might have overshadowed the two others, it is still a really good Pokemon, especially with its move Darkest Lariat
@@VictorbrineSC I personally don't like Incineroar very much, but it's fine if you do. I do think Decidueye's kinda cool though, but I love Primarina so much more
philmp6
Also greninja got a new form and alot of attention in the anime.
So it's obvious greninja overshadowed the other starters.
FINALLY MY BOI RAICHU GETS SOME GOOD ATTENTION
I think togetic is pretty underrated. With eviolite, it's a great wall. Gets access to nasty plot as well. So you can run bulky offensive sets, with roost and even fire blast. Togekiss is great, but for lower tiers, togetic is a great and viable option. And also my favorite Pokémon
Togetic was totally in the running! That's why it was in the opening being literally in the shadow of Togekiss...
My favorites are Muk and Scolipede, and I really don't think many Poison types get enough respect. Heck, Scolipede (something very similar and the same size) existed on this planet at one time.
Emperor cubone: makes overshadowed pokemon list
99% of the unova pokemon: hold my beer
I don’t really have much interaction with the genera Pokemon community so I can’t say for sure but does either Golurk or Palossand overshadow the other?
I love both of them.
I love how there are these discreet Digimon references in these Pokemon videos. It makes me happy.
Can’t wait to see which Pokémon need more love!
Thanks for another great list most Royal of Cubones 💙🐱💙
(P.S Sorry Mr Mime but the Detective Pikachu movie sealed your fate for me 😖😖😖)
they set him on fire...
Oh yeah, I remember that ... he blew up at the end of that scene 😂😂😂
Thanks Maggie Ent!
I used Togedemaru in S/M, so I can’t forget it lol
I used one in ultra sun but with 4x weakness to ground, I can tell how mimikyu got the spotlight
Out of all of the Fire/Fighting starters, Emboar has the best shiny.
That's just objectively true!
@Lord Venom You clearly don't know what you are talking about.
Lord Venom emboar is worse than blaziken tbh
@@Actual_Factual_Valen you deadass just sound salty someone likes something you don't
Don't worry Whiscash... We'll remember you for that time you ate a Master Ball. The legend will be remembered.
Togedemaru is actually one of my faves, I have a plush of one and used it in my sun team. I think it's so adorable
I’m so happy someone else appreciates Raichu, he’s my absolute favorite Pokémon and I hate how overshadowed he is
Thank you for putting Togedemaru on this list!!! 🙏🙏
This is a great video. I think so honestly. I hope you keep up the good work. You're my favorite Pokétuber afterall.
I freaking love Togedemaru and Raichu. I really appreciated that you included them on this list.
Raichu was actually used a lot in competitive play if I remember correctly.
That said, the fact that it ALSO has a cool Alolan variant makes it even more overshadowed, because who would want boring ol' Raichu when they can have the cute pancake-loving psychic type electric surfer Raichu?
Raichu is my all time favorite pokemon so seeing it overshadowed is heartbreaking
I’ve been going over all my games using mons I’ve never used before, Whiscash is an absolute monster.
Great vid, but I think the reason Team Aqua doesn’t use Whiscash is because it’s part ground type which is the main type of their enemy (team Magma). But I still agree with most of this vid :)
Hah, that's a fair point. Can't touch anything filthy Magma might ever use...
I’d say fire is more of magma’s main type with ground being secondary
these videos are literal powerpoints
Raichu is my favorite Pokemon and has been since I was a kid! I would never not evolve a Pikachu lol
Love your videos
Emboar is my third favorite pokemon good video.
Togedemaru is my hands-down favourite Alolan Pokémon! I mean look at the lil hedgie 🥰
0:29 Why does this have to look so accurate?
True
I had a Porygon Z in all of my playthroughs up till Ultra Sun. I have a head cannon that mine is a loose cannon and very crazy. It really helps during battles
He really just put porygon-z here over blissey. Sure porygon2 is a great stall Pokemon but z fills a completely different role as a glass cannon. Blissey, on the other hand is pretty much just worse chansey with a bit more special attack.
not to mention the fact that in smogon porygon z is UUBL and porygon2 is RU, because z-conversion is really good on Z
Um pre gen 5 blissey was the best special tank in the game lol
I was actually kind of offended seeing Raichu at the number one spot, but when you started talking I realized how right you are. I never even thought about using Raichu till my Alola play through, but after that I appreciated it more and went back and used one in a Emerald play through, now I love Raichu
Togedemaru definetely captured my heart beyond how Mimikyu could ever. I like Mimikyu, but Togedemaru, in my opinion, is way better than Mimikyu
Its just sad how underrated The Black n' White starters are. Emboar, Serperior and Samourott are great - they're some of the only pure typed starters in the games. Serperior is quick and powerful, Emboar is strong and tanky and Samourott has exellent special attack.
Serperior has some useful moves like Taunt, Glare and Leech Seed
If Ash's Pkachu was ever to evolve Raichu would probably be more popular as it would be the main Pokemon in the Anime. But I don't think that will ever happen now.
11:51 - never ceases to amuse me when thunder sound effects make THIS face villainous
🔫 ⚡️ 🔫 📷
rotom: trust no one, not even yourself
Awesome piece of content. Keep up the great work! :))
Togedemaru wasn't just overshadowed by Mimikyu, but also Alolan Raichu as well.
Poor togedemaru, at least they did it justice in anime
I thought Pinsir was gonna be in the list, he definitively was overshadowed by Heracross.((but great video as always))
Yea cuz when scyther got an evolution, pinsir never got one, we just got heracross. Plus all 3 of them got megas, giving pinsir nothing really special
I want to move to Japan because
1:I can speak English so school is easy
2:I want mice in my house
-1:I cant speak Japanese
(Okay, and the heart tail is waaaay cuter in my opinion lol)
Getting raichu is my favorite moment in every generation, raichu is such a cute and cool design. It just feels like the natural conclusion. I love pikachu amd pichu, but raichu needs more love!! Its such a cool pokemon and awesome Evolution for an already cute and cool pokemon!
Let's not forget Wishcash repelled a FUQING MASTER BALL in the anime.
I feel like Scyther is pretty overshadowed as well.
Raichu was my first favorite pokemon, though it quickly had competition from Mew. It's still usually my answer and always top 3. Though I don't see Alolan form as a slap in the face. It made me excited to get ot use Raichu in another generation again.
emboar can learn scald???!
that's pretty cool, but he's a physical attacker so idk if it's a move worth running
It's good for coverage and he has a decent sp.Atk of 100
Plus, it has access to Grass Knot
Raichu has honestly been one of my favourites since Gen1, right after Nidoking.
The Lt Surge episode was the first episode of the anime I ever watched so I had no real attachment to Ash and Pikachu, I think even then I could understand what plot armour was even if I didn't know the term.
Speaking of being Overshadowed by itself, Rotom isn’t even a Dex Entry in The Rotom Dex!!!
It's ok Rotom, your original form is still my favorite!
Would probably watch the anime if they put Umbreon in Pikachu's place and made something of Ash consistantly
Great list! All good points!
Look at that boy's ears. Raichu is v. cool
This content is peak quality
What are the top six hardest types to train according to lore? I assume dragon and ghost are two.
Or what are the top six hardest pokemon to train in general?
Id probably put either cosmog or larvesta as the top hardest to train, also some of the pseudo legendaries like dratini and larvitar as well
I've actually used original Raichu, Emboar, and Togedemaru on my main teams before! They really are great Pokemon that don't get enough love!
yeah I agree raichu is a great mixed attacker with a pretty solid movepool
This topic feels new and original, even though it isn't, maybe it's just how you portray it, it feels like a nee thing
I love wiscash but never get around to using it cause when I play Gen 3 I either pick Mudkip up as a starter or I'm doing a Nuzlocke and encounter a pokemon before barboach on that one route in Hoenn
maybe mimikyu is a togedamaru that new how overshadowed it was and killed itself
Hah! Somehow that makes TOO much sense...
@@emperorcubone What about Clawitzer it's super underated yet it's a great Pokemon that looks super cool and is really strong especially with it's ability yet I never see people talk about it.
Video idea, what are some of your favorite nicknames you've seen
Or what nicknames are synonymous with specific pokemon
Two for me are Cinnamon for Emboar and Bixbite for Sableye
Turt Reynolds (for Turtwig, obviously) would be awesome if it wasn't too long
Also Roids for mega Swampert, but that's about it
Ghost type best type, I will always love rotom in all his forms.
I think just about every type has an overshadowed form, or two, so here's hoping that the next gen gives them some love in some way too.
Porygon-Z with Conversion Z makes it much much more useful than Porygon2
Porygon2 hasn't been better than Z since gen 5
I feel like flygon should have been on here. It has such a great design, but people only talk about how much better Garchomp is nowadays
Yeah. I mean, Garchomp is cool and all, but I like Flygon so much more
Flygon is my second favorite Pokemon of all-time right behind Noivern. I love Garchomp as well, but Flygon has always been one of my absolute faves for a long time
porygon z is one of my favorite pokemon
Yaaaaaaaaaaas! Same here!
I know it's the form I prefer using (I'm not a big fan of using Eviolite competitively)
1. Wow, everything you said…this is a big reason why Raichu is my favorite Pokemon.
Why Dewpider in thumbnail?
Eh, I thought about him for a bit, since Wimpod got a lot more exposure but ultimately decided to leave him off, so I guess kind of an honorable mention? (Also so as not to spoil the actual list)
I’m guessing he does that a lot
Looks Much too cool to be forgettable
I love Raichu! Its always been one of my favourite Pokemon.
