He's the first guy I've heard bring up the issue that some women have when their bf or husband has a demanding job that they also enjoy 😂. It's not the demand of the job that's the problem. It's the fact that u enjoy doin it that is and that makes no fucking sense to ke but it's so real. Some women would have no problem with a man working 60+ hours a week doin a job he hates but the moment he starts working those same exact hours doin something he loves It's a problem. And that shit is so backwards and evil in my opinion. Either want me around despite the level of enjoyment I have when I'm gone or be OK with the fact that I'm simply DOING MY JOB. But this "it's only ok to work alot if u hate it" bullshit is insane.

When my son was young, my wife and I would sometimes split up doing things with him to let each other rest or just get a break. It’s funny because often I would come up with activities, sometimes with other friends n their kids that would make the time less stressful and even fun for me. It would irritate my wife that I had not suffered during “my turn” of this responsibility. In her mind it almost didn’t count as a turn for me because i had a good time. It wasn’t enough for her that she had a break, I needed to suffer. Here in lies the difference between men & women.

Division of labor when I was hitched: we live off my abundance, which I achieved with no support from my wife, while she flames out on a job every two or three years while keeping her salary for herself, and needs to “find herself” while I continue to pay for everything. Her entire financial contribution: buying a couch while her was Mom visiting to witness it, and then presenting me with her CC bill which includes the price of the couch. Logically family court concluded: she gets half of my shizz. I’m an idiot: don’t be like me.

Louis CK was literally created by his marriage. He had some great specials as his married life tanked and gave him great material and the fact that he was broke and didn't give a shit is what spurred it on. That lasted for about four specials, close to maybe ten years, and then it became clear to everybody what an asshole he actually is.
Carlin was not an asshole. And he was a guy who cared so much about his country that that was his main act. Louis has always been mainly about Louis. America always has a standup for the year, he got to be that a few times. Marc Marons second special was that for a year, and he's not even a particularly funny dude, but that was his year, and he said just the right things. Louis had those three or four specials that were brilliant, at least in parts, but tehre were always parts where we laughed and then after went "thats too dark" and NOW are just cringeworthy.
And this is just painful to listen to. To guys who got screwed over in a marriage it may be cathartic, to anybody else its just painful to listen to what a piece of shit he is. But at least he ADMITS it, at least in his act. If you don't know what the fuck marriage is about, don't do it. And for chrissakes don't bring gdma kids into it. God knows how fucked they are going to be, its always asshats like this that think they are great with their kids, then find out twenty years later their kids are in therapy talking about what a piece of shit their dad was, and was SPECIFICALLY to somebody they said htey were going to 'love honour and cherish'.
Meanwhile Jane Curtin tells the story that on the very first SNL, George Carlin was the guest and he brought flowers to all the female stars and wished them good luck on the show. If Carlin bitched about his wife then I just missed it.

If this is little more than a one night stand that's overstayed its welcome by a few months then yeah fuck it throw it to the wind, but if it's anything you think is salvageable or that you've invested in, or that you share mutual friends with and want to preserve those relationships, then why not just have the conversation? I mean it's just a conversation, what's the risk?

Or he's just oversensitive and blowing comments out of proportion. Anybody married knows sometimes you just say shit that pops in your head. I've literally had almost the same conversation, sometime even argument, about his dishwasher bit, where you literally go "why would ask me WHY I did that, its so obvious that I just forgot, do you think I forgot to turn on the dishwasher on PURPOSE?" And then later in the day my wife will say the exact same thing to me about some assumption that popped into my head that I didn't think about before I said. Its called 'life'. If you hate your wife, well, yeah, life sucks. Louis and wife sound like the kind of people that another standup joked about where they got married, and ran out of things to talk about, and figured having kids would distract them from who they were married to. Usually doesn't end well.
