Idk if you've seen the whole series of episodes, but there's a lot of good back and forth. Louis just happens to be talking more during this clip.
This is like a clip of a 4 part 6 hours podcast series. What the fuck do you have a guest on a podcast for if not to have them talk?
@@johncreighton44 this is what a civilized discussion between two people who disagree sounds like.

Too many type As in this country. Like admitting you are wrong somehow makes you look lless competent. I love admitting wrongdoing because no problem was ever solved if the source of the problem wasn’t addressed first.
meeting in the middle isnt always right. in fact it often isn't. its fallacy of argument to moderation
@@ScottyNapaa You’re right, meeting in the middle practically eliminates the best possible outcome for solving a problem because the middle keeps the problem solver in a box……..but to make your point by saying “its fallacy of argument to moderation?” Did u snag that out of textbook? Are you going to a smart college and you’re on the debate team? I went to dumb college and got a masters and I can’t figure out what those words put together mean….lol…. See now I just looked it up. You'll never get one of the two sides to admit they are affected the same neurosis as the other. That's how the dance of projection keeps going, the unstable people on side need the unstable people on the other to justify their fixation. It's a mutual psychological relationship none of the sides can admit to
I guess it’s a coincidence that the left happens to he correct about every issue in todays politics, neurosis aside.
You can’t be serious hahaha
I don’t believe in the right left political paradigm illusion, but to say the left is correct about everything…unbelievable statement.
A true folie à deux situation
@@TheCokeworth there is no "correct" in politics. "Correct" only applies to measurements of quantifiable natural phenomena. For anything else, all we can have are opinions.
I am also on the left, and I also believe our opinions are better on many issues -not all mind you- but I never forget they are just the expression of my worldview, moral sensibilities and personality.
One of my closest friends for the past three decades is conservative, I know very well by now what he values, with some effort I can see the world through his eyes, and I see all of his opinions making sense from his perspective, and being "correct". But still, they are only opinions

Using "how I order from a smoothie place" as a metaphor for political orphanage is unintentionally hilarious.
Yes, we are all individuals but on a macro scale, it's 50/50. Sort of but close. It can't be both. So, both sides are going to need to find a common ground for this shit show to ever work.
That's the word I've been looking for; liberty. Liberty is important and people forget that. I've been trying to describe it every other way but it's simple. Democracy and liberty is why America SHOULD work.
Individual liberty, individual rights. Not group rights. Groups aren't a unit, a person is. The smallest minority, and the ONLY minority that can have rights, is the individual. Individual rights=LIBERTY. Group privileges = TYRANNY.
That means jackshit. Who has the most power? The rich, people you people keep fighting each other instead of having common goals. Individualized you're far more easy to step on
The only place I can find genuine level headed analysis of American politics is by comedians. What a time to live in.
There are plenty of level headed political commentators, but nobody listens to them because they're boring.

Louis seems to be talking around the "preside" verb. The President is essentially the lead of the national executive office. He's the Chief EXECUTIVE. THE BOSS.
A boss with very little actual power, executive orders can be overruled by courts, acts of congress are above the executive.
What he said flew right over your head. He’s saying that the job is one of great power, but was never meant to be about power, but being a good steward of the nation for the short time you’re in office. People who are obsessed with power and themselves are the worst fit for the job. George Washington, when given the opportunity to become king, relinquished the presidency. Trump, when fairly voted out, tried desparately to hold onto it. Conservatives are anything but conservatives these days, if they prefer a Trump to a George Washington.

Trump is now a victimless crime offender, but he defended putting victimless crime offenders("drug dealers") to death to Fox's Bret Baier on June 19, 2023. When Baier reacted with astonishment, because that would literally be crossing a line that only rabid insane totalitarians like Stalin, Hitler, Mao, and Pol Pot had crossed (murdering millions of their own citizens during peacetime), Trump doubled down. Baier pointed out that if drug dealers were put to death, Alice Johnson (freed by Trump's "First Step Act") would have been put to death. Trump denied this, saying "No, no, no, it would be based on severity." (Because we all know how reasonable cops and prosecutors are when they're stealing millions of dollars and circumventing due process using "asset forfeiture." ...The same Kamala-Harris-type prosecutors regularly use the threat of the worst punishments possible to coerce "plea bargains." So what happens when a John-Hancock-type smuggler who believes in property rights won't plead guilty? Put all the pro-American people to death? Become Hitler's Germany?)
...But it gets much worse. When Baier refused to let Trump lie, pointing out that Johnson was sentenced under the harshest "sentencing guidelines," and that she would indeed have been put to death if Trump's new proposal were in effect, Trump used two extremely dishonest tactics to try to dodge accountability. First he told Baier "It wouldn't apply to her, because it's not retroactive, ex-post-facto laws are prohibited." To his further credit, Baier didn't let Trump get away with this dishonest and childish tactic of "Refusing to generalize from specifics, even in directly analogous commonplace cases." Baier expressed disbelief at the outlandish extent to which Trump was trying to defend his immoral and indefensible policy proposal, and said something like "I'm obviously not talking about Johnson specifically, I'm talking about the thousands of cases just like hers that go through the courts every day." Then, Trump shifted gears, and decided he'd really double down on murdering innocent people, he said: "Besides, she never would have done it if it ( *the death penalty* for drug dealing) was in place." Baier laughed at Trump's banality, dishonesty, and evil...for the first time in his career, a presidential candidate was using government school "Just Say No" brainwashing to suggest murdering innocent people in the government's holy war on Lockean property. Except that Trump was now simply pretending that all drug dealing would stop and only violent criminals would keep at it. All of the data and all of history indicate that this is totally untrue. However, it absolutely would usher in a totalitarian police state that, like the gestapo, murdered civilians without habeas corpus.
(To accomplish this in Germany, Hitler issued the Reichstag Fire Decree, on Feb 28, 1933.)
If you're honest, you know that neither Trump nor Biden think for themselves. They both do whatever their central-bank-connected handlers tell them to do. This is very alarming, because it shows us that the central bank wants to put Americans to death for actions that are technically non-crimes. This goes against the U.S. Constitution's Bill of Rights and everything America is supposed to stand for. It's the inevitable end-point of drug prohibition: mass murder by government (democide).
You can't "Make America Great Again," by murdering Americans. Drug prohibition is the same as alcohol prohibition: a mistake made by "phrenologists" who wanted a two-tiered justice system that allowed cops to enforce the laws unequally against racial minorities.
Trump himself knew this in 1990. He said, "We're losing badly the war on drugs, you have to legalize drugs to win that war. We have to take the profits away from these drug czars."
Ignoring the poor English and assuming he was talking about the cartels, and not then-head-of-the-ONDCP, William Bennett, Trump was correct.
Drugs are just private property.
That Trump is now campaigning as a victimless felon who wants to put other victimless felons to death should cause true Republicans to vote against him.
You can't build a Republic on murder.
I'm not advocating voting for Biden. By all measures, Biden has been a worse drug prohibitionist than Trump. Biden never showed mercy, and whipped support among the Democrats for Reagan and Clinton's "crime bills" that packed the prisons full of innocent drug offenders. Then, when Hunter and Ashley Biden _both_ ran afoul of those same laws, they didn't pay the same price that impoverished black people and politically-unconnected whites paid.
This is the year to withhold support from the major parties.
They literally want to kill you for the same victimless non-crimes their families and friends commit.
There are two sets of laws in the USA. Those laws apply to you, not to the elites. Trump is the German Freikorps to Biden's Stalin: they both want to take your property rights away from you, while exempting their own god-damned families from those same laws.
Trump's "tough on non-crime" posturing probably isn't going to put Roger Stone or Donald Trump Jr. to death. It's going to put your college-aged kid to death, when he stands up for his principles and refuses to plead "guilty" in a drug case.
Take your head out of your ass, America. This is literally your last chance.
Louis definitely smells his own farts and enjoys the scent
dont we all
Alot of us do that
@@gregscrabshack2307 no dude that's revolting
Yeah, he needs to be reigned in a bit.
Chris Christie?!?
i mean yah i am trump humper myself but I actually agree with Louis on many things he said about Trump. Like example he DID run as a democrat several times. He is NOT actually conservative, et cetera. These things ARE true and were forgotten by many of “us” true conservatives during election and all. But, then again, My wumpie trumpie did try to give the people many of the things they voted for, like the wall and all.
louis ck used shane to get a youtube podcast off the ground
What podcast would that be?
I am so glad I stepped out of both the right and the left matrix… I now vote for certain issues in the left and other issues on the right. I call it “political rivalry derangement syndrome”. Where if one claims to be on the right, and if someone has a criticism of the right, they will play apologetics and try and protect anyone else in the right, even if they don’t agree with what that person did. It’s the weirdest thing thag betrays intellectual honesty and critical thinking. Btw this is probably even more widespread on the left… left has rhetorically found some remarkable ways to ensure that their ideas cannot be criticized.
I hate when both sides are in it for the war. Not for the truth.
The new matrix is developing into populists vs. protectionist swamp bureaucrats and their lackeys.
Welcome to the Libertarian party!
Well you really can't just vote on issues because it's rolled up in 2 parties and if you don't choose then it's basically a throw away vote. Welcome to America at it's finest. It doesn't matter what party you are change only comes when the people stand together and replace the people of both parties with actual intelligent, want to work not just get paid people.
@@will-i-am386 Well I will sacrifice inconsequential vote for eversoslightly more inconsequential vote if it means retaining an independent, or intellectually rigorously honest style of contending with complex ideas. And I care more about local and state issues as they are the most directly impactful.
@treeghettox You equate those who vote with being juvenile? I disagree especially on local levels. You can directly or through one degree of separation see the usefulness of single votes.
Where voting for presidential nominees is concerned, I would agree with you.
Louie come on now, the right would have never cancelled you during the #METoo situation.
Chris Christie? Jesus Christ.
Did Louis just say we need Chris Christie? Oh HELL no.
I love Louis’ comedy genius. His political opinions are kinda strange and he speaks on them as if they are a matter of fact. God doesn’t give with both hands
Doesn’t everyone when they talk about their political opinions?
@@Kpmg12 not the people I surround myself with.
@@justintuisamoa4191 my experience is people are pretty stuck in their views and beliefs but good to hear there are circles that aren’t
That’s not what I heard at all. He seemed really open minded and respectful of both political sides. I thought he provided an interesting perspective and I’m not even sure how you could portray him that way.
Interesting to hear Shane speak on “the left crying everyday” but ignores the fact that The Right’s been doing the same thing since 2020, albeit with more made up conspiracies and less genuine concern for the safety of their fellow Americans like “The Left”. I guess he’s just a typical Republican piece of shit…
Everyone who invests their personal identity into one of the two virtually identical neoliberal political parties in this country is absolutely cooked.
Funny thing is hhd right is exactly the same way now. If you are not 100% on track with them they call you a traitorous groomer.
Louis: It doesn't matter.
Shane: You are so right. Here is why it matters. Boo lefties.
I love how Louis says "nightmare moments in history" referring to a time with record employment, record breaking economy, lower taxes, and ZERO wars. 🤦♂
I think he's just saying it's a nightmare moment in American politics not holistically when talking about general world relations.
And Germany was on the up and up when Hitler took power. World’s 3rd largest economy at the time.
Record employment? The employment participation rate hasn’t been this low in decades.
Read a book.
