Ryan Winters man I listen to this song literally every morning on my way to work and been jamming tool since 02 and I still get chills at that part EVERY time! I’ve seen a few ppl make a comment about it and glad to see it’s not just me lol!
Heard this for the first time in '96 while working in Arizona for a few months. I was immediately floored by their unique and distinct songs and Maynard's incredible vocal range. Two years later I saw them live for the first and only time. They did not disappoint.
Lol, it's like their sacred song. They save it when they the time is right, and when they can do it perfectly. But with Maynard's voice declining with age, I dunno if they can do it anymore. I would still pay like 1000 dollars to see them do it live though.
I came looking for this version having heard it last year for the first time and didn't bookmark it, the I...I....I... build up is the best tool improvisation on any of their ottm tracks.
These are for me lol What's coming through is alive What's holding up is a mirror what's singing songs is a snake Looking to turn my piss to wine They're both totally void of hate killing me just the same The snake behind me hisses What my damage could have been My blood before me begs me Open up my heart again And I feel this coming over like a storm again Considerately Venomous voice, tempts me Drains me, bleeds me Leaves me cracked and empty Drags me down like some sweet gravity The snake behind me hisses What my damage could have been My blood before me begs me Open up my heart again And I feel this coming over like a storm again And I feel this coming over like a storm again I am too connected to you to Slip away, to fade away Days away I still feel you Touching me, changing me And considerately killing me And considerately killing me And considerately killing me And considerately killing me Without the skin Beneath the storm Under these tears The walls came down As the snake is drowned As I look in his eyes My fear begins to fade Recalling all of the times I could have cried then I should have cried then as the walls come down As I look in your eyes My fear begins to fade Recalling all of the times I have died And will die It's all right I don't mind I don't mind I don't mind I am too connected to you to Slip away, to fade away Days away I still feel you Touching me, changing me And considerately killing me And considerately killing me And considerately killing me
I'm not judging or anything, but why do people feel the need to call him "Jimmy"? Is it to be more personal or something? He changed his name, so I don't understand why people would call him that.
Trying to find the one where MJK says "By the way, we're recording this tonight" If anyone can point me to that vid, I'd love you forever. I think this could be it, though... not sure
I've been trying to find it for the longest time since the original video was removed from youtube. It's the last time they performed H. and the "I don't mind" scream is beyond amazing in that.

If you don’t get chills when that “I don’t mind” drops, check your pulse

I don't know if it's the candy I'm eating, or the song that's giving me a stomach ache. It's beautiful.
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I... I...I..I...I....I... I DON"T MINDDDDDDDDD!!!! Chills all the way through!
i get chills the moment i read your post, there is no need nor time to check the pulse ;)
This song kills me in the most beautiful way every time I listen to it. Tool makes me cry. One of the only bands that does.
Im so glad someone was able to record this performance. Anyone who wants to dispute MJK being THE top vocalist in Rock, let them listen to this.
Heard this for the first time in '96 while working in Arizona for a few months. I was immediately floored by their unique and distinct songs and Maynard's incredible vocal range. Two years later I saw them live for the first and only time. They did not disappoint.
Listen to this jam everyday ,, several times!! Lol
I felt the emotion in his voice
"Hey bro, do you mind if I borrow your pen?"
Maynard: 5:01
Seen them live 6 times never heard this played

There was a much better version that was unfortunately removed from utube. It was crystal fucking clear, a real stellar performance.
Come back and post the link if you ever find it
Still to this day searching for that version again
yes I used to watch that one, was the one with some waves and the eyes of a girl aging? please someone find it!!
It’s Poughkeepsie 1997
RIP H. Thank you Tool for such a life-changing tune.
I maybe wrong but I think mjk said in a old live I've seen that this is about his dad
@@mercuryrising9174 it's about his relationship with devo ( his son) and the dark childhood that Maynard had in the pass
I’m not even gonna listen yet. I’m saving this for the gym in the morning. Thanks for posting this
TOOL is good gym music

These are for me lol
What's coming through is alive
What's holding up is a mirror
what's singing songs is a snake
Looking to turn my piss to wine
They're both totally void of hate
killing me just the same
The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me
Open up my heart again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again
Considerately
Venomous voice, tempts me
Drains me, bleeds me
Leaves me cracked and empty
Drags me down like some sweet gravity
The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me
Open up my heart again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again
I am too connected to you to
Slip away, to fade away
Days away I still feel you
Touching me, changing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
Without the skin
Beneath the storm
Under these tears
The walls came down
As the snake is drowned
As I look in his eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of the times
I could have cried then
I should have cried then
as the walls come down
As I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of the times
I have died
And will die
It's all right
I don't mind
I don't mind
I don't mind
I am too connected to you to
Slip away, to fade away
Days away I still feel you
Touching me, changing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
this is the best live I've heard on here 😘😀
hatednloved62 user named burntamber used to have way better collection of all their live stuff then they made him take it down.

I think it’s from the 2002 tour, Oklahoma City or NY?
I remember him foot stomping in a circle during ‘ I, I, I, I don’t mind!’
Much better than the pink and purple triangles.
Do you want to know what the sound of someone conquering his fears is?
Fanfukingtastic
I. I. I. I. I. I dont mind. Unbelievable
Pretty dope, but yoU guys gotta hear their live version of reflection on here, titled best live version
Only if you want to have the chills for like 15 minutes
I wish I could be ok with dying but I do mind.
Dont worry it changes as you get older
Free your mind and everything else falls aside as well.. death is just another layer of the human condition it's nothing but another experience.
I'm afraid of death, what if there is just nothing forever? It's the mystery that scares me.
@@Syncopated_ That id the exact same way i feel. The mystery and possibility of there being nothing forever is terrifying to me.
