I saw this tour in the spring of 97 on acid with my best friend. Best show I've ever seen by far, 24 years ago... The on going joke in high school listening to this album with my friends was "this is the best song" that someone said at the beginning of every song. Finally someone said "they're all the best songs on this album"! And they were right. Every single song was a masterpiece. Still my favorite album to this day. Long Live Aenima. Oh yeah, and i have cried at every single Tool show I've been to. Every time.

Love Maynard's movements. It's as if it would be when all the worms and snakes and insects were to rise out of the ground and tell us all what we've been getting wrong but are oh so capable to get right.
Maynard's movements and vocals are so primal and effective in creating a true psychedelic experience combined with the over the top original music provided by his band . Seen them 11 times in my life . They changed me .

I've read that he developed an eye condition over the years where the lighting sometimes causes him to get vertigo. Apparently there is a second light show ser in place in case this occurs, and it's the position of Maynard's mic stand that signals which setting to use. Not only does he want the music to speak for itself, but he has a medical reason for hanging out in the back.
