They all are, everyone in tool. that's what took so long was making sure we all on all sides of the world could all feel the same thing and all take in the same breath. 🙏
@@ShrisSeth1 Stay strong, man. Each individual on this planet has the power to make a change in the world and you're no different from the rest of us. You are important. To quote our boy Maynard once again: you must keep reminding yourself of this.
@@jarltrippinYour comment is encouraging and full of compassion. I too have contemplated suicide many times until my father just died recently of alcoholism. Now suicide is not an alternative anymore after losing someone I loved so dearly. This song means a lot to us. I'm thankful that Tool has reminded us press on and never give up. Man, the past decade was rough and brutal. Tool's music and messages are truly a blessing.
This album helped me find strength. It really did. Depression sucks, suicidal thoughts suck, but whathever happens I will NOT die on my knees. I will fight this battle for as long as I can, I will be brave and I will not surrender. I will not give up, because that's the path I've chosen and my fear will not lead me astray.
No truer words spoken, Brother/sister. It's an on going battle. It's okay to get tired and take a rest. But there comes a time when you have to dig yourself out of the hell you're in, and scream violently defiant, and tell all of it that you will NOT BACK DOWN. You REFUSE to accept the shit surrounding you. Get the fuck up, Dust yourself off. If you need to break shit that no longer serves you, then just fucking do it. Get mad. Break those god damned chains. Spread those scorched wings, and keep screaming, until your focused. By then, you'll have the attention and fear you need. Now breathe again. Fight your ass off. You got this, my dude.
I am a huge fan of King Crimson's "Discipline" album, and to me "Fear Inoculum" is the modern-day "Discipline". Tool has always took KC's blueprint of repetitive, hypnotic, math-rock riffs from that record and adapted/expanded it to their modern sound, but "Fear Inoculum" just takes it to another level. What a time to be alive as a fan of music.
5:53 this is my favorite TOOL verse ever. Sound the dread alarm Through our primal body Sound the reveille To be or not to be RISE Stay the grand finale Stay the reading of our swan song and epilogue One drive to stay alive It's elementary Muster every fiber Mobilize Stay alive
Yeah, it's profound. Hits in the feels & reverberates throughout. The anthem of our age & time. Perfect to listen to while sharpening knives & loading mags, imho. Si vis pacem, para bellum
My sister got into a bad motorcycle accident and is in the hospital. She had surgery yesterday on her ribs. I brought in my boom box and we are sitting here listening to this song. I love her and am so glad she is alive and that I can share this with her.
youngestoutof4 Ah shit, sad to hear about other fellows going down on the road, wishing her a fast recovery, and hope the damage on her ride wasnt too big
I'm 56. I've listened to a hell of a lot of music in my time. Tool is a game changer. This band just takes it to another level. This song is a masterpiece. Hell, all of their songs are.
I’m 48, and knew of tool for many years but I never really opened my mind to them. Just this past month I’ve been infatuated with this band, my favorite band at the moment is definitely tool. Crazy amazing.
Danny Carey actually had three years of Music studies in conservatory percussion and drums at the University of Missouri Kansas City he was basically just a year away from a degree when he dropped out and moved out to LA. My drum teacher had classes with him
yeah, especially "message to Harry Manback" absolutely incredible, riveting, MOVING indeed... *(jk btw lol I actually love tool, one of my all time fav bands, I mentioned that song as a joke..I love their sense of humor same as the whole transcending message of hope as well. Both are important!)*
completely agree. Also something fascinating this album has and other Tool albums don't is the atmosphere, it's much more atmospheric than the other albums (which are still amazing but in their own way), also Fear Inoculum somehow feels a bit futuristic at least to me.
Not to be this guy.. but I disagree. This album as a hole cannot be listened to seamlessly like, lateralus, undertow, or 10,000 fists. If you listen to this album from start to finish it doesn't have the continuity that their previous albums have. If your ears like that, that's fine, but mine don't and I miss that. This is just my opinion.
@@TheArrow1987 well the album art ties it all together in my perception. Massive reference to multiple previous albums. Maybe I'll finally get around to making content about that soon, when no one cares because they're not trying to watch youtube and heat their homes at the same time.
@@joelescamilla918 i wouldn't be surprised if they fucked everyones heads up and had a new album in 2 years. It just seems so tool to troll people to that degree. Wishful thinking...
They aged like fine wine on this album. They relaxed a bit and are just jamming. Yet no other band sounds like this. They have a very distinctive sound and they have mastered greatness.
@@aspjake123 And to do it with just 4 songs IMO. Fear Inoculum the song is okay, but this is really an album with a little filler and 4 epic songs. Pneuma, Invincible, Descending, and 7empest. They all bring something different but yet it's totally TOOL. It's almost too hard to take sometimes. This band is ethereal.
Tool’s music always sounded to me like a soundtrack for going back to the origin of humans, nature and the universe. There is something so primitive, but peaceful in their songs. And the new album is so beautifully epic - a spiritual journey!
Honestly I thought maybe a little too peaceful on this one, no? It didn't grab me at first although after several more listens I do like it. Maybe was just looking for a "hooker with a penis" type moment hahaha!!
South Korea. I just got to know this album. Speechless. These days, I’m listening to this album almost everyday while I’m walking for an exercise. So moving...
Thank you to the dude who mentioned *TOOL* to me on a bus ride in *COSTA RICA* to me in *2007*. He asked me if I knew them, to which I said, "No". He said, "Look them up, they are a 4 piece band in which each member is the best in the world at what they do. It's almost a miracle that they found each other, sort of like Led Zeppelin". Thanks bro, it changed my life. 🤙
Same goes for the band CAN. They're the greatest of all time. Tago Mago album will blow your mind in places. Discovered them after eventually getting bored of listening to Tool.
Now, I'm only 15, and I was introduced to TooL by my family, was raised on it, but I never really got it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the music, no doubt about it. I had major respect for everyone in the band and I listened to their songs, loving every second. I knew the lyrics. but I never UNDERSTOOD them. But this song man, this song. I was halfway through, and it just hit me, everything at once. I teared up, no other band or song can make me feel this way, this meaning, this beauty and this tragedy. This primordial cycle of life and death. This meaningless, yet inspiring universe that we are just a spec in, the grand scale of it all! to all of you who have been wating for this album for almost as long as I've been alive, I can finally say this with certainty, This song and every other from this album is a fucking masterpiece
I'm turning 18 next month . 4 years with mostly always Tool , they have a song for anything. i've lost both of my gramps and i listened near all the albums. they blesses the humans soul and brings peace to the mind. keep going little buddy. you will understand them some time later.
This is slowly but surely becoming my absolute favourite TOOL song. It's epic and majestic beyond words, its grandiosity can't be overstated. No, it's not "heavy" or crazy in any way, because it doesn't need to be. It's telling a story about survival, about going to the depths of the abyss to confront our demons. "Mobilize, stay alive!". It's a deep, primal, and fundamental story about our very existence. The instrumental buildup towards the epic end is unlike anything I've ever heard in my life.
Carl Jung rears his head again with metaphor. Maynard is the best song writer. He can be subtle or blunt while also sticking to the main theme of tool. Allegory. Tool is our tool. They're art is our strength.
Yeah this is the best one on the album for me. The build up and the payoff is amazing, and you get TWO. First the lyrical one than the instrumental one. Amazing!
This is why the Tool army doesn't mind waiting so long between album releases. Pure and utter musical wizardry every single time. This band is unmatched in every aspect
TOOL doesn't just create music, they create sonic artwork. This album is a masterpiece, every bit as important and significant as Beethoven's greatest compositions
At the risk of sounding like "just another "nerdy" TOOL fan" that is the best description I've ever heard. After years and years of loving TOOL 🔧 finally saw them in Buffalo this year and... Well said. Descending was the highlight of their set for my husband and I. It felt as if we were the only two people there. It was magical to put it bluntly. Best show, a meaningful date for us after 20 years together, money well spent.
My condolences, my friend. My best friend that introduced me to Tool didn't live to see this day either. Here's to them, and all the others on the other side of the veil ❤️
I am a HARD CORE Tool fan. Have been for nearly 30 years. Absolutely love every song they've ever put out. Descending may just be their best song. It certainly is a 12 on a 10 scale! I don't say this lightly. They've improved with each album. Having witnessed their musical progression to perfection has truly been a gift from the universe. We are indeed fortunate to have been part of this experience.
The Grudge is kind of a mediocre track IMO. also a 20+ year fan of Tool just wracking my brain to think of a song that's not awesome. Even grudge isn't really too bad but all of tool's shit is pretty much like "wait. It'll get awesome" and if you don't ""get it it" whatevs. The grudge is the most like that
The last real band left standing. This is musicianship, this is integrity, this is collaboration, this is brotherhood through sonic transmutation ... Thanks Danny, Maynard, Justin & Adam
Timothy Stoner dude they go over this shit for years before even tracking it. They are far from lazy. Their albums come out when their supposed too. I’m glad it took this long. Makes it all the better. All that said, they definitely aren’t the only band left. But undoubtedly the most genuine and authentic
STG. THIS HAS BECOME MY FAV TRACK OFF OF THE ALBUM. I LISTEN TO IT THE MOST. IT ALL STARTED WITH A LSD TRIP. THIS SONG WOKE ME UP. MADE ME CRY AS HE SUNG "MOBILIZE STAY ALIVE"
They really hit the primal instincts and emotions. The battle drums, the riffs, the tempo, the lyrics and the melody woven together perfectly and takes you on an unexpected journey with so many different layers that tell a thousand stories. This is why this never gets old. It's simply a beautiful masterpiece. There aren't many songs out there that bring so much emotion and energy.
Descending alone was worth the 13 year wait 🤘 welcome back tool, this album sits perfectly and proudly within their discography as yet another masterpiece
Hi Tool fans around the globe, I'm from Malaysia and English is my second language. I'd have to say, Tool helps me expand my vocabulary. This song itself, introduced me to 2 new words: nescient & reveille. Haha thanks Tool!!!
You are 100% right i have been listening to this album for 4 weeks in a row when I'm working out, it never gets boring quite the contrary it gets more addictive and to be honest with you I can't wait today to go to the gym and start listening to this album all over again.
Nost Boiz HAHAHAHAHAHA so true my friend I love them all just like when I was getting into Pink Floyd when I was younger lol I love everything about Floyd different just like Tool not mainstream bullshit !
I’m afraid this album really is their “swan song and epilogue.” 😢 It’s beautiful and fantastic and really a gift to us Tool fans. Thank you Tool for everything you’ve done.
Based on words Maynard has said in recent interviews I think he 100% wants to do another album and fans are going to get it pretty soon. 2 or 3 years. They just came back to see if they still had it and if fans still cared and they are the most talked about band in the world right now. This is more like a second coming and dusting off the instruments.
We're just so fucking lucky that these guys came together to create this amazing art. 13 years later, and they've created another masterpiece. Danny said he's down for another if it's much sooner this time. Only Justin said he doesn't want to make another, and he may have only been fucking around. Time will tell, but I hope there isn't some jerkoff reading this after just discovering them with their next release in 2032. LOL!
This. This gets me fired up. I'm ready to march on Washington everytime; every morning I put this on. I hear the call. Now more than I ever have. As clear as a bell. As clear as the dread alarm.
I'm a new tool fan, I just listened to this for the first time, I cried. I heard the reflection yesterday, I cried too. this band is the best in the world.
As we all grow older - and god knows tool fans are - special things and moments get very rare. time flows by mostly unnoticed. this album is a true cornerstone - bringing back goosebumps and tears. thank you tool - from the bottom of my heart
Sorry for your loss man, my brother as well would’ve been excited for this but he passed in May 2018. He’s still everywhere all around you in every leaf and every breathe of the world.
You're not the only one man, this song does the same thing to me. Idk what it is about Fear Innoculum, but it brings me to tears every time I listen to this album. It's like Tool tapped into some spiritual force when recording this album, no other band evokes these kinds of emotions in me. Tool is a very special band, others can try to imitate Tool, but Tool is truly a one of a kind band.
I can't believe TOOL was afraid to release this album and that they scrapped 2 previous albums because they felt they where falling short! This album is amazing. Its not what I expected but its some if the best instrumentals and lyrics I've seen from them. I really hope they can continue to pump out the best music known to man.
Tool is the greatest rock band of our time. No other band taps into my soul and mind in such a beautiful and intimate way. This whole record to me is perfect. It’s calming, inspiring, empowering, epic, introspective and eye opening.
I agree. I’m 46. Listening since ‘’90. Grateful to have lived and listened for so long. 7 Concerts over the years. To grow older with them. A wonderful experience. They are the Greatest.
Tool has never made a bad album. Undertow - Heavy and dark Ænima - Heavy and dark again Lateralus - Complex and fascinating 10,000 Days - Emotional and adventurous Fear Inoculum - Relaxing and reflecting
Adam Middleton I'm for sure gonna buy it.. I know they probably don't "need" the money..n putting it out like they did was almost like a "gift"..so I agree, they deserve it for giving us decades of great artistic mastery!!

Agreed my friend I'm 61 too and listened to this a couple of thousand times. Every time I had to get somewhere or wait I knew this would 15 minutes would be worth the while. ACDC, pink Floyd, Marylin Manson, Eminem just don't cut it the same.
Omg it's perfect that you bring that up! This whole album so far has a really Egyptian sound to it. So it's perfect you bring that up because now I can imagine that over the past 13 years, the temple was being rebuilt, bringing the pieces back together, strengthening our communication. Damn, dude, what an epiphany you just gave me!
Almost 2 years later, hundreds of listens and I must say this is one I the best songs tool ever out out. The flow, progressions and transitions are som it the best they've ever done.
I have my stereo in the room where I have my pool table. This song really comes to life when I lie under the table and close my eyes to listen. The acoustics become completely immersive. I find myself hyperventilating, sweating, gasping for breath with tears running down my cheeks. No piece of music has ever affected me like this song does. All of their albums are like that for me. You cant judge them until multiple close listenings. A Perfect Circle was the same way for me. At first I was like “oh this is pretty good, nothing incredible though.” Then like a month later I’m absolutely loving all of it.
I was on an overnight in the Mendocino N.F. here in Nor Cal and played the entire album super loud from my truck as the sun faded. When it ended I swear, I've never heard it soooo quiet where we were; and I've been going to the same spot for some time. Even nature knows when it has to respect greatness.
Dear TOOL band, i was born in august 31 of 1984, thank you very much for this priceless birthday present!! I listen your music since 2000-2001, when I was a very young punkrocker musician, with time and drugs I decided to go study at the art school of my city, and from the year 2009 I become a visual artist.. Here and now, siting in my room with a lot of works on my back, Im grateful and thinking how inspirational and motivational can be the music and all the creative acts, in all their spectro, jazz, postrock, classical, progressive, theatre, sculptures, photographies, movies, etc.. But, specially the nature creative in any life species.. Nobody knows where we all will be in 20 or 30 years, maybe the whole world will be desapear, but among all the shit that happens around us, against what we fight every day, one all the good shits in all this years, was TOOL!! ;) respect for you guys! we are all trascendentals! Learn to swim! Ride the spiral!
Let it be known that the vocal effect used in this song is to originally be found in abundance throughout Camel's Moonmadness album: ua-cam.com/video/qSslHyK7paY/v-deo.html and that the best person at making their voice sound like it is another instrument within their music was Damo Suzuki from Can: ua-cam.com/video/qKpCKBfazX8/v-deo.html Would not have ever listened to these bands if not for 1st getting into Tool, so hey...
@@SenseiBerial I saw the Camel Moonmadness concert at the Royal Albert Hall earlier on in the year. It cost a fortune, like £70. I believe the whole concert must be available to purchase now on DVD, as here is a sneak preview of it on UA-cam. Noticed that the keyboard player for them here is blind which was unexpected. Anyone else think this album is Maynard's Mona Lisa? His vocals and lyrics on songs like Fear Inoculum and Descending are astounding brutal and beautiful.
Maynard just did what I told him to on this album in letters I wrote to the band so you can thank me for the lyrics and everything Thank you It was my idea to put the ocean on this record as well
So much has happened in my life since the last album (I believe that is so for us all). Hearing this album is a wonderful reminder that life is beautiful, life is strange, and most importantly, this fucking song is amazing. Be well all of you!
Well put. I didn't think about it like that, but what you say hit home for me. I am a fucking Phoenix rising from the ashes, and this is the phonic expression of how I feel right now!
So many people have been hungry for music like this. Thank you Tool. Maybe this will inspire this generation to find themselves before all is lost. This music transcends time and space and demands your attention.
This could be the greatest song i have ever heard. It has quite literally expanded my perception of what music is, and what is possible in this reality.
Third Eye remained firmly atop my "favorite Tool songs" mountain, for over 20 years... until Descending dethroned it. Its the best song ever made, period, and anyone who disagrees can fite me IRL (ok not really but you get the idea)
Every living thing on this planet is temporary, this band has always helped to remind me that I must soak in as much beauty as possible in this fleeting time.
Unbelievable how the tension is built up from minute 8:22 onwards, which is released at 10:54 and even more at 10:58.2.5 minutes of tension without a single second of boredom. For me, the best piece or art on the masterpiece album after Pneuma. This song like so many other TOOL songs gets better with every listen.
The back and forth between Adam and Danny through this whole time is amazing and the high pitch of the guitar at 10:58 just is the perfect closure... it really leads me to tears and a euphoric feeling of such power that I feel like a super human at that point!!!
@@randallN-sw6ee I wouldnt say exactly the same. He has evolved a bit vocally but he has the same range and strength of voice he's always had. Basically he hasn't lost anything from what he used to have but he most assuredly added to his vocal skill.
Old,new and past fans,we are blessed with two generations of what musically, lyrical and genius that will never be surpassed. Tool,Pink Floyd. Thankyou.
I'm 102 years old, I just discovered tool and feel like I really missed out by discovering them this late in life. My grandfather just passed away at the age of 155 and this album helped me cope with that loss
i'm 330 years old and i can relate to this, my late mother Florence Nightingale loved TOOL so this song really hits hard, greetings from the afterlife brother
It's a great song...and I almost agree with you, but 'Right in Two' has that mantle IMO. That song is just mind blowing in so many ways, but the lyrics are what makes it
I was very much pleased with fear inoculum, great album, but as far as their "best" song, their coup de grace, Tool's magnum opus, for me it's ALWAYS gonna be the 3-part "disposition/reflection/triad" off the album lateralus.... I know some agree with me, some say I'm full of shit 😂 but for me personally, THAT'S the best thing tool ever produced. I know many feel that wings for Marie/10,000 days was them at their best, their finest hour. And yeah good god those lyrics, such a profound and moving tribute and dedication to Maynard's mother.. I'll always insist that "disposition/reflection/triad" has the top spot in the tool catalog!
I feel like their talents have gotten better with time. Especially Danny Carey, I mean he has always been good, but on this album he is really phenomenal. Adam Jones too.
Agreed, I just worry about how much longer they can keep it going :( That kind of talent and action takes a toll on the body. Danny is ripped as fuck for a reason. To be able to do the impossible that he does on the drums has to just destroy his shoulders elbows and wrists. Can't imagine Justin and Adam's hands are in great shape either. And Maynard's voice has to be getting worn with three freaking bands and nearly 30 years doing this now. It terrifies and saddens me to think of a day we don't have them or at least the ethereal chance of "new" Tool but at the same time after all the wonder and amazing things they've made and done for not just myself but so many millions more I don't want them to break themselves either lol. Kinda feel that might be the real point behind Invincible on the album tbh. They're getting old.
@Drum44er I agree with you there, and plus, ALL of them have musically matured. I'm so tired of everyone complaining that there is only 1 scream from Maynard on the album. What's the point in screaming if you have nothing to be angry about?
@@allenkerns9550 As a Rush fan I knew the end was coming for years and then it came. That's life. If you live long enough you lose things you love. But I still have every Rush album to listen to, and every Tool album so far. Enjoy it while it lasts. And have faith, there are younger bands out there who might take up the torch.
Agreed, although each member continues to evolve as beautifully yet uniquely in their own spiritual way, so when they come together as a unit it's impossible to recreate what they have been able to do thus far.

Trust me, I said the same thing and once I finally did this year it was even more amazing then what you’re imagining it to be, the imagination has nothing on what a tool show will actually do to you, everything you thought you knew before can go right out the fucking window haha, an entirely new appreciation will be discovered, seeing descending, invincible and Jambi, just those three songs live will forever destroy any chance of another band taking tools place as my number 1 🌀
I saw them 1st in Alabama 15 Yeats ago in a hurricane basically. When I lowered my arms 16 ounces of rainwater washed out. I will never forget the perfect sound. Maynard out there in a black speedo up front in the rain. The flawless performance moved me. The only better show for an experience was Evil Empire RATM in an abandoned steel mill for 8 bucks. Venues matter. Vibe matters. Art matters. ❤

Yeah, that's probably due to the fact that he writes his lyrics to the music and not the other way around. Danny, Justin and Adam first create the music and when they're done they send it to Maynard, who then trips on it and creates the lyrics. I think that's why his voice truly can be considered as the fourth instrument in the band, which blends in seamlessly with the others.
It's Adam who decides on the compositions, Maynard comes in when the music is ready. There'd be no makeovers after that. I'd think Adam would decide on the overall composition.
@@adamwerduch5527 AFAIK, it’s very much a joint effort between Adam, Justin and Danny. It can’t be ignored how significantly the band changed when Justin joined. He changed their whole sound.
So many chills from this song, that I feel I’m starting an ice age. The feeling I get listening to this is so immense and beautiful. 10:54 is like a monument of sound, a materializing in the sky, a supernova. The progression before it is like an evolution through the universe and just culminates so unbelievably well. I feel as though Maynard is reading from distant scriptures and ancient times, almost pleading for the entire human race to hear this message. He has such a way of making you actually feel the words he’s singing. It transcends just simply hearing. I’ve never really found this with anyone else. I feel TOOL has been at a prophetic level with this album and is ringing more true as the days go by. It heightens my awareness of the world, but at the same time just takes me away. Forever grateful for this music and chance to be alive.
Most of the lyrics of this album were written by me in letters to the band. Of course Maynard is the ultimate master of lyricism so he worked it his way which was perfect by the way because tool is perfect because I created tool when I was in 6th grade in the '80s as a band idea using the pentagram and I said the musicians would be perfect because I am perfect and I am tool. Enjoy
I had this thought last night...you don't create this in a day...the depth of this album is staggering...one can no longer say "It's a music album" when it comes to this one...this one has a soul.
5:45 - 6:35 I will forever refer to this section as "Litanie contre le désespoir". The emotion and imperative behind this verse is incredibly powerful, and I'm not ashamed to admit it has helped lift me out of a very dark place.
This is absolutely one of the most powerful verses I've ever heard in any song. "Sound the dread alarm!" rocks my whole body, and I literally can't stand still when he says "Mobilize! STAY ALIVE!"
This is Adam's finest moment. He sounds like the greatest guitar player of all time here. The Dave Gilmour of alt rock: slow it down and play the feels. Genius.
i actually find him on his weakest here tho, kinda missed him the whole album, this song is clearly the best for him tho, and i fucking love it. this album was clearly danny's masterpiece, and i really like it for that
"Falling isn't flying
floating isn't infinite"

They all are, everyone in tool. that's what took so long was making sure we all on all sides of the world could all feel the same thing and all take in the same breath. 🙏
The lyrics and vocals in this song alone are worth the 13 year wait

This album helped me find strength. It really did. Depression sucks, suicidal thoughts suck, but whathever happens I will NOT die on my knees. I will fight this battle for as long as I can, I will be brave and I will not surrender. I will not give up, because that's the path I've chosen and my fear will not lead me astray.
This album was basically both my sword and my shield through some of the hardest times of my life.
Well put,keep going!
Psychedelics helped me with suicidal thoughts. I used to have them REALLY bad. Don’t give up, good luck.
i love you
This album gets better each time I listen to it.
Test.
OMG i had the same sensation... it's amazing every day more than before
I cant stop listening to it and i was one of the first 2 hours listeners
It really does.

Regular bands plug into amps.
Tool plugs into the universe.
And it’s beautiful.

It’s beautiful
I think Justin uses a supermassive black hole as a bass amp.
@Douglas Fisher They came before music, the music emerged from them. Thus the universe was born.
That sense of relief when you are deep into a Tool song, check to see how much time is left, and there is still 8 minutes.
9 for me 😆
Amazing innit
This is the best track on the album.
I feel 7empest is the best song on the album. The solo in this song though is well worth the 10 minute wait to hear...
Its like waking up ealier than youre alarm and see there is is still precious minutes left
You totally surmised it, King Crimson personified ❤
I’m kinda in a place in my life where I was sad I didn’t have anyone to share this experience with, but the comment section made that all go away.

My drum teacher had classes with him
The lyrics in each album tell a story
yeah, especially "message to Harry Manback" absolutely incredible, riveting, MOVING indeed...
*(jk btw lol I actually love tool, one of my all time fav bands, I mentioned that song as a joke..I love their sense of humor same as the whole transcending message of hope as well. Both are important!)*
Stupid shit 😊
People dislike this album because it don't have the distortion of previous titles. the drumming and soundscapes are next level. it's their finest work
completely agree. Also something fascinating this album has and other Tool albums don't is the atmosphere, it's much more atmospheric than the other albums (which are still amazing but in their own way), also Fear Inoculum somehow feels a bit futuristic at least to me.
I so agree, this peice of Art is simply amazing
I agree

No one even comes close to tool, a league of their own and should be defined as their own genre at this point
Very rare for a band to put out what is arguably their best album this late in their career. But they have pulled it off.
@@dh8148 This!!!!!
Didn't really look at it your way but I see what you mean... Interesting.
Tool’s music always sounded to me like a soundtrack for going back to the origin of humans, nature and the universe. There is something so primitive, but peaceful in their songs.
And the new album is so beautifully epic - a spiritual journey!
Agreed Mr. Velev....Tool is not a band....they are an EXPERIENCE!
Ivailo Velev that’s exactly What this album Is about, i think!
That's pretty much how Adam Jones summed there sound up too.
Honestly I thought maybe a little too peaceful on this one, no? It didn't grab me at first although after several more listens I do like it. Maybe was just looking for a "hooker with a penis" type moment hahaha!!

Divinely orchestrated
I have skied raced with Maynard's dad. From Michigan. This was before i knew Tool.
The band did a good job of No Quarter,a Zeppelin song
Yea i consider tool the modern day led zeppelin 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Now, I'm only 15, and I was introduced to TooL by my family, was raised on it, but I never really got it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the music, no doubt about it. I had major respect for everyone in the band and I listened to their songs, loving every second. I knew the lyrics. but I never UNDERSTOOD them. But this song man, this song. I was halfway through, and it just hit me, everything at once. I teared up, no other band or song can make me feel this way, this meaning, this beauty and this tragedy. This primordial cycle of life and death. This meaningless, yet inspiring universe that we are just a spec in, the grand scale of it all! to all of you who have been wating for this album for almost as long as I've been alive, I can finally say this with certainty,
This song and every other from this album
is a fucking masterpiece
Amen.
You're very smart at such a young age. Stay blessed..
Holy crap, you described EXACTLY how this song makes me feel.
So happy other members of the youth take in substantial music the way you do.
I’m there with you!! This is the best tool album. It grows on you too. 6 songs of pure ecstasy!! Best album as of right now.
And best guitar solo in Tool history!
Carl Jung rears his head again with metaphor. Maynard is the best song writer. He can be subtle or blunt while also sticking to the main theme of tool. Allegory. Tool is our tool. They're art is our strength.
In the buildup, when the guitar comes in screaming... I can’t get enough of it. It gives me emotions every single time I hear it..
Yeah this is the best one on the album for me. The build up and the payoff is amazing, and you get TWO. First the lyrical one than the instrumental one. Amazing!
This album is filling the world with such beautiful sounds right now.
Exactly ✌🏼

Yes, I think this is their last album, unfortunately 😢
Based on words Maynard has said in recent interviews I think he 100% wants to do another album and fans are going to get it pretty soon. 2 or 3 years. They just came back to see if they still had it and if fans still cared and they are the most talked about band in the world right now. This is more like a second coming and dusting off the instruments.
We're just so fucking lucky that these guys came together to create this amazing art. 13 years later, and they've created another masterpiece. Almost 2 years later, hundreds of listens and I must say this is one I the best songs tool ever out out. The flow, progressions and transitions are som it the best they've ever done.
It's becoming my favourite song of all time...
Prepare accordingly
Yep
I have my stereo in the room where I have my pool table. This song really comes to life when I lie under the table and close my eyes to listen. The acoustics become completely immersive. I find myself hyperventilating, sweating, gasping for breath with tears running down my cheeks. No piece of music has ever affected me like this song does. (Please don't tell anyone- It's kind of embarrassing.)
And not to mention the album itself is the masterpiece. What an album🙏🏼🙏🏼
Listening to this song with my 67 year old mother she says to me 'You can turn it up if you want' hahaha loved it
I’ve listened to this album 100s of times and I still go bananas at “sound the dread alarm” every time
This is some primal awakening every time

All of their albums are like that for me. You cant judge them until multiple close listenings. A Perfect Circle was the same way for me. At first I was like “oh this is pretty good, nothing incredible though.” Then like a month later I’m absolutely loving all of it.
Listened to this on a solo camping trip in the Virginia mountains around the fire. Other level experience
Sounds great. Virginia has some of the best mountains in America
Brooo ok yeah I need that experience. I'm in Oregon think I'm gonna walk into the woods with this album
I was on an overnight in the Mendocino N.F. here in Nor Cal and played the entire album super loud from my truck as the sun faded. The vocals are like another musical instrument

Anyone else think this album is Maynard's Mona Lisa?
His vocals and lyrics on songs like Fear Inoculum and Descending are astounding brutal and beautiful.
Absolutely haunting throughout the entire album.
I love the album but his vocals on the song Fear Inoculum are NOT brutal. I love and get goose bumps from his last lines in Descending tho.
Epic. Freaking yes. Masterpiece
Maynard just did what I told him to on this album in letters I wrote to the band so you can thank me for the lyrics and everything Thank you It was my idea to put the ocean on this record as well

Some of their best ever. Had me shaking
The back and forth between Adam and Danny through this whole time is amazing and the high pitch of the guitar at 10:58 just is the perfect closure... it really leads me to tears and a euphoric feeling of such power that I feel like a super human at that point!!!
the gong hit and synth line after that long buildup section was like cold water pouring on my face after full day working in the heat.

It's a great song...and I almost agree with you, but 'Right in Two' has that mantle IMO. That song is just mind blowing in so many ways, but the lyrics are what makes it
@@amccall3066 Agreed. It's Maynard's most 'on the button' lyrics.
I was very much pleased with fear inoculum, great album, but as far as their "best" song, their coup de grace, Tool's magnum opus, for me it's ALWAYS gonna be the 3-part "disposition/reflection/triad" off the album lateralus....

Every one of them in beast mode !!

Just a little creature comfort goes a long way
I love Tool because Maynard knows when to shut up in songs and let the instruments do the talking when needed
@@CCLJunky would make alot of sense
It's Adam who decides on the compositions, Maynard comes in when the music is ready. There'd be no makeovers after that. I'd think Adam would decide on the overall composition.

So many chills from this song, that I feel I’m starting an ice age. The feeling I get listening to this is so immense and beautiful. 10:54 is like a monument of sound, a materializing in the sky, a supernova. The progression before it is like an evolution through the universe and just culminates so unbelievably well.

Tool music is a favorite of mine. I turn up the volume on Descending all the time because of the instrumental arrangement. The vocals are so artistic.
