You are correct!... and THAT is what is wrong with music today. We are being fed this constant level of idiotic crap and real musicians like this are at the bottom of the heap because of it.
I wish you guys would have grabbed a shot of what pedals he had one the lower level of his board 😉. Regardless Joey is amazing! I wish he got more recognition here in the United States.
Could you guys post the link to the Jesse Davey clip of him having his amp in the rehearsal room? I've searched it, but came up empty. Great vid with Joey btw!
jillo357 Probably a slap back delay. I know he uses that a lot. I am not sure exactly which pedal he uses for that but basically any delay pedal will do.
The thing that I can't get my head around as far as slide plane to me it's very much a matter of touch I'm not very good at it I never have been and when I pick up slides the either field I don't know they don't feel right to light? Never quite sure what finger feels best. Sugestions? I play a old univox Lp jr double cut 12-54 still feel light and like the action is to low. But i guess im heavy handed. Lack a light touch and finesse
Take a lesson from someone proficient at slide guitar or strictly play slide until you get to the point where you are satisfied with your playing. I'm not great at all but to get the notes right you have to br over the frett.
@@American-Dragon as a player it seems like it's a tension thing I have a hard time finding a slide that feels like it's the right weight heavy enough but not too heavy if you understand what I'm saying? I'm not a gentle person I don't have a light touch I'm certainly not Billy Gibbons I use 11th or 12th on my les pauls.
Beauty is definitely the right word! Sorokin 8 0008. It's a custom one-off for Joey modeled after a '54 les paul. From what I understand, it's a one man show, no custom orders, just a man who makes beautiful, historically accurate guitars when he wants to and for whoever he wants to!
Tone is in his tuning, his ability to dial in a pedal, his slide, and most importantly, his hands. I am sure Joey would find his sound on a much less expensive amp as well.
I had throbaks in my gibson 335 and they were shit. Harsh and shrill on the top end with no sweetness. Yuck. I didn't buy them they came with the guitar. $800 throbak er customs. I don't care what the machine is that was used to wind them, they are overrated and ridiculously over priced for a set of pickups. Plenty of makers out there charging normal prices who make some of the best pickups in the world.
I was really disappointed in the lack of insight into the dualist . . Unlike others, I find Landreth highly overrated. But I appreciate Peach endeavours 👌🏻

Joey Landreth should be way more famous!!!! Love ur music bud!!
You are correct!... and THAT is what is wrong with music today. We are being fed this constant level of idiotic crap and real musicians like this are at the bottom of the heap because of it.
Not everything that is could should be massive too, me thinks
I sit in awe every time I hear Joey play. Simply amazing. His tone, his touch, just unbelievable.
Joey's playing is fantastic with a lot of feel and soul.... p90's are awesome
Joey is one of the most down to earth and genuinely lovely people around.....oh, and an absolute monster guitar player
I wish you guys would have grabbed a shot of what pedals he had one the lower level of his board 😉. Regardless Joey is amazing! I wish he got more recognition here in the United States.
Joey is a master of slide with complex and tasty playing. Very musical
This is awesome guys, Joey is an amazing player and humble!
Lol..... Dem jokes!
Outstanding player and very musical as well! And a Canadian to boot!
A crazy great musical player, good writer, and a nice guy. Wow.
Joey Landreth does not know how to play a bad note. Melodic and expressive, up there with Derek Trucks now.
Yeah! He mentioned in a video that Derek is a huge inspiration for him
Its so weird how I see Two-Rock in all of these UK videos, but here in California, where they are made... no one knows about them!
Perfectly timed! Listening to heaps of Joey lately!

Great player, great guy.
Had to quick pause to look up Jessie Davey playing (I too only knew of him through the pedals) - he’s the truth! Getting a duelist asap
Joey, keep up the great work! I’ll go see you at the Black Sheep.
That guy is unbelievably good
P90 Goldtop + Landreth Slide.
🤘🏻
He is an amazing musician, sometimes he rolls that tone real dark and fuzzy though, but it works for him I guess
Where can I find more videos of the fuzz?
what a player this guy is !!!
19:56 for the lovely outro
what was the "slap!" pedal he's referring to? was it under the deck I guess?
jillo357 Probably a slap back delay. I know he uses that a lot. I am not sure exactly which pedal he uses for that but basically any delay pedal will do.
I like the duellist with no fuzz pedal
Has anyone ever found that video of The Hoax that John talks about in this video? I spent a couple hours looking to no avail.

Do him and Ariel posen put a capo behind the nut, what is that thing?
Its just there because its not being used, they use quite a low tuning so they sometimes use a capo on the fretboard. its just resting there in the nut
Landriff or landreth?
What tuning is he is?
That volume at 9:24 was too slickkkkk

To master slide playing just change your name by deed poll to Landreth and you're halfway there.
What is that goldtop beauty ?

Am I the only one to be amazed that they talk about almost 10k of equipment to get a great tone ????????????
If I had £100k of gear I couldn't sound that good! :)
Pros need good gear. Can’t rock up to a high end gig with a line 6 spider

Yay Ashington :)
The blend between the room mic and lapel mic is really weird. That just me?
Pete now Joey.. anyone else? Can i have a job please.
🔥🔥🔥
What guitar brand us that? It's a one off right?
Sorokin Guitars.
What guitar is that??? I want one!!!
6:40
Errr...did you watch the video? He talks about that guitar for a good 2 minutes. Lol
whats the thing on the headstock?????!?! like a string butler ?
You mean the capo?
Are you talking about his capo. I believe he tells the brand on That Pedal Show. The one with Kirk Fletcher
"Oi appeeshihate tha lellel o' geekawee".
I still dont get it. why the hell would you stick a dozen of pedal in a front of high end 2k amp. its like fuck the tone, its all about the hip
I think it’s about variation in tones. That’s what it is for me anyway.
What a miserable life they have at Peach: playing on shitty gear, greeting unknown artists, and getting paid for it... must be hell !! :-))))

Works great for others! All depends on the player!
