Not a vocal expert, but I think it’s breath control, lots of air and learning to relax your vocal chords (they tend to tense up when you try to go up that high in falsetto). Oh, and practice 😉. Somebody please correct me if I’m wrong because I’d love to know more.
I believe it's a Sorokin. He's a luthier that builds only a handful a year. The last one I could find that was sold through Reverb went for over $5,700. On his website, it looks like he mostly builds old 50's Les Paul replicas. Mostly those that had P90's. Even the inside of the electronics cavities are sweet. The wires have the braided covering, and even uses those old style paper capacitors for the tone controls.
I love Ry Cooder and Bobby King singing this, I tuned to see, expecting this be to crap, it isn't, it is really good. Although he has some way to go to top Ryland P. Cooder but so has most other people.
This guy would have owned the world back when people listened to music.
