man you saved me, I was stuck for days on this problem and couldn't wrap my head around it what to do, with your video I've done it in less than an hour! great job!
@@TJsDomain I will always support people like you man. All the respect for what you do and your willingness to share the knowladge with others, matter of fact, I will sub to you as I didn't do it before, it's one click for me but it will help you alot, cheers bud!
I tried this on a 5480 with Win-7/32 and it didn't work for me. However, I partitioned the hard and put the USB drivers on the second partition then followed the rest of your instructions. That worked perfectly, thanks.
Wow, Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!, you save this laptop, almost gave up. If without this video, Dell laptop will never wake up with new Win 7 installation. Appreciate TJ's!!!
Thank you for the video TJ, it really helped. Just a couple of clarifications. About 8 minutes in, you mention using the 64 bit Intel drivers. However, if installing 32 bit Windows 7, which I needed for a legacy utility, you need the 32 bit drivers for this to work. To answer Martin Gjorgjiovski's and some other's questions, the drivers are in the root of the X: drive. But as I said, you need 32 bit drivers if installing 32 bit Windows or you won't see anything on the root of the X: drive. Same goes for 64 bit Windows, you need the Intel 64 bit drivers. Hope this helps. Thanks again TJ!
Worked almost exactly for Dell E7250 and USB3.0 install of Win7 Pro x64. The only difference is that after injecting the drivers my installation medium found them automatically on the next reboot and I didn't have to browse the folders manually. Thank you so much!
Brilliant stuff. I got the driver from your link, extracted it to an unused partition on the hard drive and simply pointed to it during the windows 7 installation. You saved me a lot of time searching and luckily I came across this as my first result! Brilliant stuff
I am sorry you are having issues but i can not trouble shoot errors with your 7zip install. You will need to work through it and find out what on your machine is not working. This is a working solution.
Hi! Boot.win is not opening so that I could see the files 1 and 2. I am trying to follow your instructions using win 10 computer. Do I have to use win 7 computer to modify the bootable usb drive?
I'm trying to boot my Windows 7 Optiplex GX520 Desktop from Windows 7 to Batocera, but it keeps giving me a floppy diskette seek failure. Can you help me?
Thanks for the video. I tried using it and your method got me one install screen farther. Once it installed the USB 3 driver the first time, the computer is locked up. Well, I dont know if its lock or just that the keyboard and mouse dont work. Mouse tracking light isnt on nor does the num lock turn on. Any thoughts? I'm installing on an Optiplex 5050 w/a 7th gen Intel processor.
Honestly, I don't think I remember hearing from anyone before confirming that this solution works on Optiplex. This does work on several different models of Latitude Laptops.

excellent tutorial..was looking for the answer on this for an e7470... one update you need though -if folk still have the problem after the first 2 .inf install [as in your video] then untick the hide other drivers option. this reveals a full list of drivers. then select the 3.1 usb drivers and install .. I only needed the root install to then install w7... noticed a few comments below where other folk were still having issues... try install the 3.1 driver/s on newer models than the 5470 ...as for other models with same issue? just try the option in the video .. would suspect it will work... I knew I needed some driver but was going wrong way looking at sata controller when the nvme drive uses the extensible usb 3.0/3.1 controller - thnx for the info
Hey, sup? I'm having a little trouble with the step where I am supposed to paste the x64 driver files in the boot.wim\1 and 2 folders. It won't allow me to paste anything there. Do you have any idea on how to solve it?
Do you get the Confirm File Copy Box? Also, i would make sure that the account you are using on the computer to do this modification has admin right as well as having read write access tot he USB device.
@@jackalikz I do not. It will probably either be an issue with 7zip or the image on the USB drive. Neither which I can reproduce and there for can not give the work around. This is a known working solution as you can tell by the other replies.
If anyone still monitors this: Dang it! So far, no luck. I tried to follow all the steps but when it came to the install, got to the hang up spot, clicked the "Bootx" and didn't have the winpedrivers. Hunted around some but nada.
